I just love how Zarkon’s been in a coma, messed up, for a little over a month, Haggar works non-stop using science and magic to fix him up, but then the moment she’s like, “Oh shit, that’s right, you’re actually my husband and you saved me once. Get your ass back here and help me again,” Then Zarkon just snaps open his eyes like, “Wifey needs me, let’s go, no more shitting around.”
look i STRONGLY believe that keith was the one who carried lance to the healing pod when he was blasted by that fake rover bomb
shiro was barely able to stand up on his feet by himself. there’s no way he could’ve been able to carry another person. heck, he needed to get into a healing pod himself after being tossed around here and there like a basketball. poor dad can’t have a break
hunk and coran were still on their way to the castle
pidge is obv out of the equation man
and allura was the only one available at that time who could/knew how to prepare the healing pod so she couldn’t have been the one to put him in it either
um so yeah it was KEITH who not just cradled but also carried lance to the healing pod bye
Sansa is the Lady of Winterfell. Arya is her Sword.
The old Stark saying of “He who passed the sentence should swing the sword” is totally reinterpreted here. Neither Sansa nor Arya would have the physical ability to wield Ice, their ancestral greatsword, if the blade was still there. So, instead, they became to the two halves of that whole statement.
Arya acknowledges that she could never be the Lady of Winterfell, not like Sansa could, so she became something else. Sansa couldn’t kill someone, not like Arya or her brothers or her father could, but she doesn’t need to do that. What I think we’ll see in the final season of Game of Thrones is Arya operating as the metaphorical sword that Sansa wields in the defense of their home.
After all, Sansa and Arya are opposite sides of the same coin. Sansa can rule and protect the North as the Lady of Winterfell and Warden of the North. Arya can serve as the Sword of Winterfell, keeping the peace, executing those who commit treason, and defending their home in the ways she was trained.
omg i was listening to Late-Night NPR last night and this one lesbian girl was talking about how she and her family used to go camping every year when she was a kid and there was a general store that was owned by an older lesbian woman who she really looked up to and then she like tracked on the woman and interviewed her for the radio show it was so touching…. she was telling the older lesbian woman how seeing a confident gay woman living her life made it easier to accept that she herself was gay and that there was nothing wrong with it and they were both like crying and shit i was starting to get so emotional in the car… this is why we need to value and defend the gay elders who came before us and taught us to love ourselves its so important… i will die for the gays
Rachel Amber is the fire that Chloe needs to stay away from
I love Amberprice. I will defend it til the very end. Would I fall for someone like Rachel Amber? Yes. Would I like to be friends with someone like Rachel Amber? Absolutely. Would I date Rachel Amber? No. Absolutely not. Not because of how smashy she gets when she’s angry, but because of how the tiny traits about her tips me off the wrong way.
Am I sure she really likes Chloe? No. Do I think she’s manipulating Chloe? Yes. Does Rachel’s actions and reactions to Chloe’s doubt to running away bother me?…
It VERY much bothered me.
I’d like to go back to this conversation:
They’re talking about Rachel. Hands down, that’s what I sincerely believe.
The first time you meet Rachel is intense. It’s like fire. It’s bright, and warm, and exhilarating. Rachel burns like fire. Brightly, and she’s the center of attention.
She becomes the center of Chloe’s attention.
She burns so brightly that the darkness of Chloe’s life is completely engulfed in this. I can’t find a video where Chloe says it, but in my play through, on the first episode, while talking to Joyce during breakfast, Chloe basically goes: We make bad choices when we’re dealing with losing someone. She’s basically judging her mother for choosing David so soon after she lost William.
Who else lost William, as well as a best friend, and started hanging out with the wrong crowd and making awful decisions in life?
So, if you eliminate fire. If you eliminate that bright bright light… what do you see?
Chloe doesn’t want that. She just wants to see…. Rachel provides her light. a direction. But perhaps that direction becomes too blinding and painfully burning as Chloe gets closer to it. That’s why, by the end of the episode, Chloe is so hesitant with leaving with Rachel. Chloe felt the warmth of the fire, but as she edges closer, she has to recoil for a moment because that fire is burning her. Eventually she gives in, after a promise.
Something solid – the bracelet
Something permanent – a tattoo
Something passionate – a kiss
Lesbi-honest… MOST of us, chose the most NON concrete way to make a promise: a kiss. We, as Chloe’s players, are pushing Chloe into the fire.
But here’s the thing, let’s jump ahead a little bit in the future okay?
Chloe loses Rachel anyway. She loses her fire. A very bright fire that she has been staring at for a while now. She’s back in darkness, but the fire left a mark on her. It didn’t burn her. It left that weird shape in her eyes that happens when one stares too long at something bright.
But slowly and surely, she starts seeing clearer. And in darkness.. what do you see when you look up?
Fire that shine billions of light years away. Safe to watch, untouchable, yet they’re still so beautiful. They give direction. If one knows how to read stars, you will know where to go just by using them
Who else is miles away? Who else is untouchable?
It’s a bit of a reach, but Max could have been that greater beauty.
A more logic reach is the end of Life is Strange (original), where Chloe realizes that she has been so focused on the fire (Rachel) and the hazy orb that the fire left (Rachel’s disappearance), that she failed to see the other beauty of her world (her mother, blackwell, Eliot (he’s a really good kid), Steph, Mikey, and maybe even David because he does have some lessons that make sense)
But Rachel isn’t just what made Chloe miss the finer things in her life… The darkness around her was dark enough that she couldn’t see….
So dark that she couldn’t see directions.
So how was she to know that looking up was all she needed to see the dim lights in her sky? How was she to know when Rachel Amber was this wildfire that gave her warmth but also misdirection?
i should be doing my work for class but instead here’s part 1 of drawings for a hp au thanks to ideas brought up by @klanced i do actually need to go do work and head to class so the rest of the gang will come later
anyway shiro is trying to talk to keith who is helplessly pinning lol
Aries : the freedom fighter, she raises her fist in a call to action for those around her, she is the spark to set a movement aflame, whether standing behind a podium or charging into battle it is a war of principle to throw herself into and bring to victory with a loyal coalition of followers, she is the beginning.
Taurus : the politician, there is no gambling only the eternal tread of fate, she plays the long game, she is the grassroots movement that gains momentum until change is inevitable, this is for her past and her future, this is for the present of those around her, willing to compromise and curry favor, in the end she will be sitting in the Oval Office.
Gemini : the aristocrat, the autocrat, the backroom dealer, whether a philanthropist or a robber baron she is out for blood, this is not someone here to make nice, for better or for worse she will do whatever she must to get what she needs, she will deal with anyone any how if she will meet her ultimate goals.
Cancer : the empress, her family has sat on the throne for generations, it is her duty to preserve what was as she moves into the future, she wields ultimate power alongside the love of her people, adored and feared her will is iron and her word is law, change is either immediate or slow, protecting the nation has been her only goal since she was born and she will defend it to the death.
Leo : the warlord, conquest is both her only fear and her only goal, always moving forward never looking back, to sit on her laurels will be her downfall, she cuts a swath through the land amassing an army and a nation both of little consequence, offense is the best defense, if you conquer your enemy before they know you exist you’ll never have anything to worry about.
Virgo : the diplomat, the wordsmith to weave a net of peace, whether the world is already in chaos and she aims to quell it or whether war looms on the horizon she is there, she is a peacemaker and compromiser until her ideals are challenged, with such an infallible set of parameters it is hard to know her true bottom line, she will not reveal her full hand until you are already defeated.
Libra : the principal, the small setting advisor, to be fair and honest one must be willing to focus in on things, she understands those she speaks with and will speak with anyone, the equalizer where she must she understands the importance of backing down to higher powers, she wants to help the world and will do that however she can, she will be the face of nostalgic hope nobody knows but everyone remembers.
Scorpio : the dynasty, less a person, more a concept, she is what was and what will be, her power ebbs and flows depending on the day, she stretches thin when she must and concentrates on a single instance when she can, she is a winding road made to lead to an inevitable fate lined in fear and sunlight.
Sagittarius : the queen bee, it does not matter where you are in the world you can tell who she is, she is magnetic and intoxicating and her power is vast within its limits, once you are in her bubble it is hard to know the way out, she is singular and exists in those who love her, in high school and in the office she is beloved and feared with no certainty as to what she actually is.
Capricorn : the CEO, the headlines maker, new money in an old world, her scepter is a pen and her army is a hedge fund, she created her power and shields those within it, sometimes you may not agree with all her choices, sometimes you may not understand them, but while she is still afloat decades passed disaster you will see her true motives only in retrospect.
Aquarius : the influencer, the social media darling, the thoughtful twitter account you keep seeing screenshots of but you cannot seem to find, she has millions who listen to her, millions who follow her, she could found her own country based on those who think she is worth watching and listening to, but she has no idea they exist, she would just as easily see them all gone for good.
Pisces : the martyr, whether in a decades old feud or a millennia old war, she is held as the lynchpin to it all, she does not need to be here, she does not need to lead, she does not even need to speak, it was that she existed that love could so freely flow to her and what she believed in, she transcends humanity until she is an idea that has amassed more followers and worth than any person alive, until the next one comes along.
what this show did with the “being a nerd” trope was honestly one of my favorite parts of this season
matt says here that he knows what its like to be the nerd we all know what he means by that he was probably bullied and teased just like pidge and empathizes with her situation but tells her that she should keep studying
but she says
“what’s the point?”
good question pidge
as of this point the only thing “being a nerd” means to pidge is the rejection and mockery of her classmates
look at her shes crying okay how many times have yall cried in school and not even like in the bathroom stall in the fucking classroom okay that shit is not fun
heck shes not even sitting at the front of the class or with anyone else shes sitting by the window near the back basically by herself in the classic “main character whos different/disconnected from everyone else” anime spot
shes angry and frustrated and hates that part of herself to the point where she says “what’s the point?” which is a statement of defeat
she was ready to (literally) throw that part of her aside because she was tired of all the pain and angry and sadness that came with “being a nerd” (i mean could you even imagine what would have happened if she actually gave up pidge could have given up loving science and technology and would have never gotten into the garrison or done anything remotely “nerd” related because of how much pain this brought her)
and then this happens
her mood is immediately changed shes overjoyed at her brother getting into the Garrison she probably saw him study like a monster and how nervous he was for the test and how hard he worked and then
she goes back and picks up that book
and its an immediate 180 in her attitude towards studying and “being a nerd” because now she sees a reason to keep being a nerd
she didn’t stop being a nerd she made that part of who she was
she saw people in her life who were nerds people who were her role models and her and were proud of it
and i think thats really awesome that matt was able to show pidge that there was nothing to be ashamed of in “being a nerd” and helped her embrace that part of her that was smart and curious and intelligent and who wanted to be like her brother and father and go to space and reach her goals and dreams and become the beautiful little nerd we know and love now
and that’s a message to all nerds - to embrace that part of you even if it brings you adversity because that part of you is incredible and capable of doing amazing things
