I’ve been very busy with work lately and sleeping five hours a night and things, so I’m probably overreaching and/or not making any sense, but this -
- I loved this, not only the scene, but how everything was framed, and yet there’s something bugging me - why is Dean keeping his right hand on the sigil and his left on the blade? Dean is right-handed - it would have made much more sense to cut his left hand and keep his dominant hand unhurt and free.
As I said, I’m basically delirious - but what we do know is that the left hand is the one which is a symbol for love, right? because that’s where we keep our rings (according to a medieval legend, there’s a vein that goes from the heart to our left hand, so that’s why our weddings bands go on our left hand and not our right)? Whereas the right hand - that’s rationality, doing things, fighting, writing, being all practical and sensible. And Dean’s right hand is on the Enochian sigil, because that’s the good choice - that’s what he should do to save everyone’s lives here - his, and also Sam’s, because his brother’s not far behind, because he never is, and as for Cas -
Dean’s feelings for Cas - a left-hand kind of thing. Back in Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox, the other Yockey episode, Dean picks up Asa’s angel blade with his right hand, because that was a weapon, and Dean favours his right hand when he fights, and that’s what makes sense. But this time around - I don’t think that blade is Cas’ (?), but it’s still an angel blade, which means it represents this brave, amazing, infuriating angel Dean loves unconditionally - hence the left hand, and Dean’s ‘illogical’, ‘wrong’ decision to trade his life for Cas’.
hey, any word from jaha? did they find bellamy's unit?
what monty said:
yeah. they're back, and we forgot to tell you.
what monty meant:
clarke i get that you're worried about your totally platonic other half/soulmate/yin and yang-type best 'friend' bellamy blake but you asking me and harper and riley and every other person in this camp every 10 minutes will not bring him back sooner and honestly this is so pointless and annoying because obviously he's trying to get back to you as soon as he can so you jamming all the radio frequencies and staring longingly at the gates isn't going to change anything so if you could kindly stop freaking the hell out that would be much appreciated because obviously i will sound all the alarms (as instructed) and notify you myself as soon as he gets back now if you'll excuse me i'm going to go because i have work to do (as instructed)
“What is fair in men does not last. Nothing is more fleeting than the years of a man’s life. But this is not true of art. The joy of understanding. That is the most noble of pleasures. Feathers will lift men as they do birds up to heaven.
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate Jonathan Joss’s portrayal of Denali. Was it a small part? Technically, yes. But Joss had such presence, and played the role with such intensity that it’s definitely one of the things that stuck with me even after I left the theater. He’s also an important counterpart to Red Harvest’s character; and…would it be overstating things if I said that I don’t think The Magnificent Seven would have been the same movie without him?
Guys seriously, we need to get our hands on the REAL deleted scenes of Harley and Mr. J because…..what the fuck scene was this look from? Is that a wedding dress? Was it a flash back scene? Was it related to her day dream of them getting married like….give me the fucking answers.
Because the casting of Finn Jones annoyed me so much re: Iron Fist and how it looked like he barely practiced for the role, I decided to go raid youtube for liveaction Kenshin fight scenes where Takeru Sato practiced his ass off so he could do his own stunts and fight scenes.
This is the first epic fight scene with Kenshin vs a gang of thugs.
And this is Takeru Sato learning kendo and the fight choreography and you can see him go faster and faster until his in believable Kenshin Himura speed:
Do you think that before Flynn stole the mothership he tracked Lucy down at all? I'm sure he would have been curious about the mysterious professor who wrote his journal-from-the-future. So I can picture him finding her at her university and attending one of her lectures or something. What are your thoughts?
Oh, my god, Anon. My thoughts are I have had these EXACT THOUGHTS!
He DEFINITELY looked her up before the series starts! No doubt. None. Erase all doubt from your mind. We don’t know the degree of it. Maybe Flynn searched online for information about her. Maybe he read one of her books (a history book– not the sad, handwritten one). Maybe, yes, he even sat in the back of at least one lecture. We don’t know how far he went researching her (he’s an intelligence gathering special agent and this could actually be quite in depth– he has her tax returns), but we do know that Flynn looked Lucy up in the present day before setting his plan in motion.
And it all sounds like an interesting little possibility and fan theory, one more connection Flynn and Lucy have before even meeting face to face, but the logical part of our brain is still like, “Proof?”
How about the fact that, in the Pilot, he knew what she looked like? Yeah. Once you realize Flynn picked her out of a frantic crowd at night in front of an explosion, it hits you: “How did he know her face?” Lucy can write her entire life story in that journal. Flynn can know her mind as well as she knows herself. But unless Lucy included a photograph, he would not know her to see her. He’d pass her on the street. Conclusion: either through research or because he staked her out (attended one of her classes), Flynn was familiar with what Lucy looked like prior to meeting her in 1937.
Now, you can argue the above. You could say that one brief, mid-episode snippet is the real first time Flynn sees her. The part when he’s watching the three be arrested after he called in that tip on them.
BUT! he is very, very far away. And he’s not even the one looking through the binoculars when it happens.
He certainly can’t make out her face. And would he really approach her later with his biggest identifier being that she had on a brown coat? Why would he WANT to leave it up to chance? Why would he risk not knowing what Lucy looks like before going into the past where he knows he’s going to run into her? I really don’t think he would.
Also (just mentioning) Flynn’s guy that Wyatt kills in the hangar knew who Lucy was, and I’m not sure what to make of it. Flynn did brief his men about her though. We know that. Because after realizing who she was (whether because Flynn passed around a picture of her or because he said she’d be the woman following them), the man said, “Flynn wants to talk to you.” So Flynn made certain his men knew who Lucy was and that, if found, she should be brought to him, presumably unharmed.
I really think it makes sense that Flynn looked her up beforehand. It makes more sense than him not doing it. Checking up on Lucy just fits Flynn’s character. Not only for curiosity’s sake, but because Flynn won’t be caught unaware again. After Rittenhouse and his family, Flynn researches, he double-checks. The man has become obsessively prepared. It’s like a compulsion he now has. He needs that sense of control so much he doesn’t even delegate unless he has to. He trusts no one. He does everything himself. He’s paranoid something will go wrong. So many episodes, he has to check the journal before allowing himself to act. Even in 1.12, he pulled it out and studied the drawing before approaching Emma’s cabin. He looks before he leaps, and you can’t tell me that doesn’t include investigating Lucy before thrusting them into the situation where they meet. He would want to know her first, familiarize himself a little better.
So yes, he looked her up before stealing the Mothership. Fight me.
⭐️SHOUTOUT TO ANOTHER (FANTASTIC) UNDERTALE COMIC!⭐️
I’m not exactly big on AUs, but I am absolutely in LOVE with the Caretaker of the Ruins comic over on the @caretaker-au blog. The Ruins scene was giving me some war flashbacks to the scenes I’ve been working with but seriously guys this comic is good. There are times when I wish I was innovative enough to go out and create a comic that’s not literally just the game but in comic form but alas… I’m a bit of a stickler to original things. Plus I’m having fun with the graphic novel, and I’m enjoying working with the canon content of the game. But still.
Anyways, I sketched this after finishing the comic up to the latest page (which I believe came out today… I’ll be updating the same day! Haha!). I don’t think Chara wants to be the ghostly weirdo that’s gonna inhabit the graphic novel’s second installment anymore.
To the creators of the Caretaker of the Ruins comic! Wonderful work, you two! It’s VERY well done and I look forward to future updates.✨ ~“George”
Me: It’s Best Scenes day of Ao No Exorcist Week. I should draw one of those really deep emotional scenes or coll action scenes that I love. Me to me: Draw something based of that scene in chapter 41 where all the guys had to cross dress. Me: …Why am I like this.
