I had this dream where young Toshi was finally revealed in the manga, and this was the cover page of the chapter…ugh, I couldn’t stop thinking about it and then I drew this!
Also I have mad respect for: @ursulabatur, @nojuro
@dailytoshinoriyagi and anyone else who can draw Toshi’s hair!
It’s way too freaking hard for me! So I probably won’t be drawing him again anytime soon, despite my love for him.
Summary: You have been with the Avengers for three years and during that time you have developed a close friendship with Bucky. When you discover another woman in Bucky’s room you begin to question what your true feelings are for him.
Author’s Notes: If you were hoping things would get better after part 31… well… you’re going to be disappointed. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ PART 31 – MAJOR SPOILERS.
There is nothing beautiful about inching your way towards
death. When it is slow – we call it life. When it is quick – we call it
sickness or an emergency. The reality is – we all die – even the heroes. If
we’re lucky we get the happy ending – the normal life – for a few years before…
but more times than not we run to death with open arms, because you can only
protect so much before sacrificing yourself. As I stared into the darkness I
knew I wasn’t dead yet. There was still a little spark left in me, but I was so
tired… I longed for it to end. I just wanted to float into oblivion.
“Just let it end,” I whispered into the void.
“What end?” I heard a familiar voice as I felt a warmth
presence envelope my hand. I suddenly became aware of the sound of machinery
near me as I fought to open my eyes. I was being pulled out of the fog and
darkness and back into the world. I blinked several times before recognizing
the person sitting beside me.
“Tony?” I croaked softly as my eyes adjusted to the light.
I was becoming increasingly aware of the pain that throbbed in my stomach and
arm. “Where… where am I?” I asked. I couldn’t remember much of what had led me
to being here.
“You’re at Clint’s. We set up a quasi-medical room in one
of his extra bedrooms. You’re safe,” Tony added with a soft squeeze of my hand.
Scenes of blood and screams flashed through my mind. I
couldn’t remember what was real and what were dreams anymore. “What…what
happened to me?” I asked as my eyes flitted to my bandaged abdomen. I struggled
to sit up before the fiery pain overtook me and my head fell helplessly back
onto the pillow.
“Take it easy, kid. You’ve lost a lot of blood. You were
attacked on your way into the courthouse,” Tony answered hesitantly. His answer
gripped inside of me as I felt myself starting to shake. Bits and pieces of my
memories were slowly starting to surface.
“Where is Steve?” I asked frantically, bolting upright
despite the crippling pain.
“Y/N! You need to lay back down… you can’t…”
“Where is Steve?!” I demanded again as my vision clouded with
tears. I wasn’t sure which pain was worse – the physical pain or the pain of
knowing what Tony would say next.
Tony sighed sadly as he gently helped me lay back down.
“He didn’t…” his voice cracked as his eyes glistened with tears. “He didn’t
make it.” I bit the inside of my cheek to stifle my cry as tears pricked at my
eyes. It hurt to cry – it hurt to do breathe, and all the pain reminded me of
was the fact that I was alive and Steve was dead. Tony gently wiped the tears
away. “You need to rest, kid. You need to heal. F.R.I.D.A.Y. call in the doctor
to see if it’s time for Y/N’s medication. Please let him know that she is
awake.” Tony proceeded to stand up and walk to the doors.
“Tony?” I whispered through tears as he turned to look at
me with his hand on the doorknob.
“You should have let me die,” I whispered before closing
my eyes and praying that I would fall back into oblivion.
“Tony?” I asked tiredly as I forced my eyes to open
“Yeah kid?” he answered wearily. It had been a few days
since I had woken up the first time. Before that I had been asleep for three
days. Even now I fought to maintain consciousness. As desperately as I hated
being awake I just as desperately held onto it until I couldn’t anymore. I
needed to know what happened. I needed to know why two of the people I loved
were not there with me.
“Steve… he’s,” I muttered tiredly. I could tell by Tony’s
tired sigh that I repeated this like a mantra every time I woke. “He’s dead,
isn’t he?” I asked quietly.
“Yes – yes, he is,” Tony answered just as quietly.
“Where’s Bucky?” I asked through tears. I hadn’t ever
managed to verbalize this question before. I couldn’t deal with the pain of
losing Steve alone.
Tony’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Y/N, I need to tell
you something, but first you have to promise me something,” he whispered as his
thumb traced the veins on the back of my hand.
“What?” I asked wearily. I felt like I couldn’t promise
anything – not honestly.
“No matter what happens next you have to promise me you
won’t give up kid. You’re part of our…. You’re part of my family, and I’ve lost
enough family for a lifetime. Deal?” he asked as his eyes gleamed with tears.
It was as I looked into Tony’s eyes and saw the deep
sorrow that he usually hid so well that I understood. This wasn’t about me
anymore. I could give up – I could never get out of this bed again. It would be
the easiest option. It would be the most selfish. I looked at Tony and I saw a
man that had lost more than one family – a man living through his past trauma,
but trying his best to be strong for those that were still here. I looked into
his eyes and I knew I had to make that promise, and I had to honor it. “I
promise,” I whispered as a tear slid down my cheek. Tony cleared his throat
uncomfortably as he shifted his eyes away from me. The anxiety that followed
his movements was almost crippling. “Please – just tell me.”
“Fury kept his promise. Barnes was in D.C. at the time of
the attack. Of course, if we had known you were going to be attacked… well it
may have been better if he had been here,” Tony sighed to himself as he hung
his head in his hands.
“What?” I managed to choke out. I could feel the hysteria
trying to desperately claw its way out of me. I was afraid if it broke free I
would never be able to control it again. “Tony, what?” I demanded impatiently.
Tony looked up at me again and grimaced. “Everyone thinks
you’re dead,” he explained matter-of-factly.
“Excuse me?” I asked in alarm as I struggled to sit up.
Tony’s firm hand on my shoulder prevented me from getting far.
“Y/N, we don’t know who is responsible for this attack,
and we don’t know if they were targeting you or Steve,” Tony tried to explain
“You don’t know? You don’t fucking know? Are you kidding
me Tony? You know exactly who is responsible! You know they were going after
me! Where the fuck is Bucky?!” I yelled frantically. In my mind I could see
Bucky – alone – thinking the two people he cared about the most were dead.
“Barnes is M.I.A. Fury is doing everything he can to find
him, but it’s like he’s vanished into thin air after the attack. We think that
there’s a possibility…” Tony’s words halted as his face contorted with pain.
“What? There’s a possibility that what?” I demanded.
“There’s a possibility that Bucky could have been involved,”
And just like that – my hysteria burst through every
defense I had and I floated into a dark cloud of misery. I never thought I
would long for the feeling of inching towards my demise – God, I was wrong.
A/N: This seems intriguing so why not go for it? I’ve done a lot of Spencer fics lately so I decided to do one with the whole team for this one. And thanks once again to Pinterest. There are some great prompts on there if you just search them up. Once I get my board created with enough pins of prompts. So good! Love it!
The fire crackled by the bonfire. The team was sitting in a circle around the fire pit. You invited them over to your parents home for a nice dinner and s’mores. Your parents were at Hamptons celebrating a family friend’s wedding anniversary. They opened the house to you so why not seize the opportunity to have a small gathering. Perfect excuse to wind down for a while before the team gets called back out on a case.
“JJ, pass me the graham crackers.” Emily said reaching her hand out for the box of crackers.
“Reid, isn’t that you’re fifth s’mores?” Tara said raising an eyebrow at him.
“So?” He spoke through a mouth full of s’mores. “It’s like I’ll gain anything from it.”
“Oh shut up.” You say punching his shoulder playfully. He only laughs before munching again in his current s’more.
“So, (Y/N)..” Tara spoke up looking at you through the flames of the fire. “We know what everyone looked like a kid. But we have yet to see what little miss perfect looked like as a kid.”
“Not the least bit random.” Luke said chuckling.
“She has a point.” JJ chimed in. “We hardly know anything about you. Besides knowing your parents, we don’t know anything else.”
“You don’t want to see me as a kid. It’ll make you guys more jealous of me for being perfect.” You say earning a slap on the back of your head from Emily. you couldn’t but laugh. “Alright, alright.” You say holding your hands up in surrender. You stood up from the chair tossing your blanket in your spot. “I think my parents might still have my photo albums under their bed. I’ll be back.” You retreat inside the house closing the patio door behind you. Climbing the stairs to the second floor to your parents bedroom you flick on the lights as you open the bedroom door. You hadn’t been inside their bedroom since the day before you moved out for your freshman year of college. Getting down on your knees you lifted the skirt of the bed sheets and peered underneath the bed. There was box with your name written on in sharpie tucked nicely in a small place underneath the bed. Reaching for the box you pull it out and sit down placing the box between your legs.
“I love you.” I told my girlfriend right before I ran out onto stage.
I loved looking over to see her smiling and giving me thumbs up. She always waved and blew a kiss to which I blew one back. The amount of pictures online of smiling to the side stage were countless all thanks to Y/N. she was perfectly imperfect and I loved every inch of her. As I continued playing on stage I would glance over to her every once and awhile and my heart felt like it was going to burst. The connection I had with her was strong and our love was unstoppable.
Once the show was done and I got to go off stage to her I was so happy. I loved playing for all our fans, but I also loved Y/N.
“You did so good.” she cheered as I jogged over to her wrapping my arms around her and kissing those perfect lips of hers.
“Are you saying I don’t do good every time?” I joked and she laughed.
“You know you always do amazing in my book. I’m just glad this one is over because I want to go exploring with you.” she said.
“I’ll go shower then we can do just that.” I kissed her again and we made our way to my dressing room where I showered and dressed.
“Are you ready my lady?” I asked putting my hand out to help her up from her place on the couch.
She smiled and thanked me and we were off. We grabbed some food at a small restaurant and then made our way around town. We talked and walked taking in the breeze. We walked along the river with only a few street lights leading the way. It didn’t matter how little light there was because the light that was illuminated off her was all I needed. She stopped in her tracks looking over the bridge we were on out on the water below. The smile that fell across her face was breathtaking.
“Isn’t this city gorgeous?” she asked.
“No.” she turned and looked at me confused. “You’re gorgeous, the city is just pretty.” I told her.
“You’re so cute.” she placed a kiss on my cheek before taking my hand in hers and dragging me behind her as she ran to all the way to the end of the bridge.
“What was that all about?” I asked once we stopped.
“You’ll see.” she said pulling me along the sidewalk till we were under the bridge.
It was dimly lit by a light and you could hear was the small waves from the river hitting rocks and a few cars above.
“This is what you wanted to show me?” I asked her.
“Yeah. Just be quiet for a minute, you’ll understand in a second.” she whispered and we were both silent.
Then I heard it. The little bell that rings when you with the one. My face lit up I looked to see her with a smile.
“I heard it earlier while you were on stage. I’ve known for a while that you were the one, but this was only confirmation. The best confirmation I’ve ever received.” she smiled.
“Y/N I’m in love with you.” I whispered staring into those eyes that I could barely see from the lack of light.
“Joshua I’m in love with you too.” she smiled brightly before our lips were connected.
This was all I needed. Her and that little bell. I always was told about the little noise when you know the person is your soulmate but I never thought it was going to happen. Once I was dating Y/N for about a year I got scared I was wasting my time with her when my soulmate was somewhere else. I soon got rid of that feeling when I realized how much I loved Y/N and even if we weren’t soulmates she was worth fighting for. Now two years into the relationship hearing the chime was like a whole new chapter in my life.
“What do you say we go celebrate?” I suggested holding both her hands in mine staring into her eyes that held the world.
“If you mean ice cream then I’m down.” she saids.
“What else would I mean?” I said as we walked back to the road.
“If we were normal adults we would drink or have sex.” she laughed.
“Who said I was normal? Also who said one of those isn’t coming later?” I winked her way and she laughed.
God I could listen to her laugh all day and fall more and more in love with her.
There was that chime again, but this time it was louder and I turned to Y/N as she faded away. I knew what was happening and I hated it.
“I’ll see you later Josh. I love you.” I heard her voice say and she was gone.
I was met with the bright light of my room. I turned in my bed so badly wanting it to be empty, but it wasn’t.
“Good morning Josh.” my girlfriend Debby said sweetly and all I did was smile.
We weren’t meant to be, this girl in my dreams was my girl. Only if she were real. I would sound crazy saying I didn’t love Debby because I loved some girl I had a dream about every night. I just wish those dreams would be a reality.
So irl there are no bananas in any stores near me. I blame hurricane Irma.
Anyway, in my dream, the real reason there were no bananas was because there were these creatures that worked the night shift at stores and they were paid in bananas. Like they loved bananas. Like Ryuk loves apples apparently.
But no one knew why these creatures worked the night shift and no one had even SEEN them before other than store managers.
So who gets called in to investigate? LEORIO. I kid you not. No one decides “hey let’s just go to the stores at night”. Nah, they send in LEORIO.
And you wanna know what the creatures were? The Chimera Ants. If only they’d realized in the anime that all you need is to give Meruem some nanners and he’d be chill.
But that’s not the end. No. Leorio decided he needed BACKUP. Even though the Ants were just tryna make a living, you know? So Killua and Gon came in. But it totally backfired because Killua just ended up stealing candy and Gon became friends with Pouf.
There once was a girl in my dreams. I’d lay in bed dreaming of her, wondering what it would be like when I finally had the privilege of meeting her. I’d see blurry details, in and out of focus in my mind. I imagined how her hand would fit into mine. I swore I could almost hear her laugh and feel her head on my shoulder. I longed for her gazing out airplane windows, seeing the stars on warm summer nights, sitting by the sea while the waves lapped at my feet. I wondered if she was real, if my dreams were foolish, if I even deserved her.
It took a long while to get here. Stumbles and some straight up mistakes. But I found her. I’m hers. She’s real.
