I hear women are putting their “I Voted” stickers on Susan B. Anthony’s gravestone. However, today I urge you to think about Ida B. Wells, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Piper Ensley, and all the other incredible Black women who fought just as hard for women’s suffrage–despite facing racism from Susan B. Anthony and her white followers. Anthony made great strides for white women, but she wasn’t looking out for women of color.
As women, as voters, we need to do better. Looking forward, I hope these next 4 years allow for progress, compassion, and intersectionality.
Today, I am proud and grateful to be voting in my first Presidential election. And I owe that fundamental right to so many women who do not get the respect and honor they deserve.
“You find the black tube inside her beauty case.
Where she keeps your father’s old prison letters. You desperately want to look like her.
You look nothing like your mother.
You look everything like your mother. Film, star, beauty. How to wear your mother’s lipstick. Somewhere no one can find you.
You go to the bathroom to apply the lipstick. You must wear it like she wears disappointment on her face.
Your mother is a woman.
And women like her can not be contained.”

listen. listen. please take off your shipping goggles and understand: moana and maui are such a brother-sister pair it hurts.
look at the scene where moana is waving the heart in maui’s face while he complains. look at her expressions. i am a little sister, i have an older brother, my entire family is full of siblings. moana is totally being the obnoxious little sister. it is adorable. maui picking on her climbing up to lalotai’s entrance. maui giving her the proud look watching her as they approach te fiti. the banter. “congratulations on not being dead, curly”/“i got your back, chosen one” the looks each of them get when the other is getting on their nerves.
i’m telling you. moana and maui are going to look around one day and realize that they’ve been siblings for months and didn’t even realize.
Don’t be friends with her
After you’ve broken up and walked away
Its better that you leave her there
In that moment when everything went astray
Because if you take her with you
You’ll keep looking for her face in every girl you meet
No laugh will ever be as joyful as hers
And nobody will make your soul sing the way she did
You let her go without a fight
Now she’s gone
And with her went everything that was bright
You didn’t look back then
Hurtful and proud
And she wasn’t the one to beg
But her teary eyes were screaming so loud
Now you remember how her kisses made you feel
How tenderly she touched your scars and all the hurt began to heal
But you’ve moved on now
With someone who looks nothing like her
So it’s better to leave her there
In memories that can be cherished forever
If it’s meant to be you’ll meet again
And this time you’ll treat her better
But deep down you’ll always remember
As the girl you’ll never get over
We’re going to pretend I’m not upset JJ won bronze over Otabae Otabek because I still love JJ to pieces and want to talk about this moment in his FS
At first glance, you’d think “they’re his parents. They’re obligated to greet him with a smile no matter what score he gets.” And I have to admit that was my first thought too. But it goes deeper than that.
Look it’s Leo’s coach! AND LOOK IN THE BACKGROUND I KNOW THAT’S LEO’S ARM First, I want to say that JJ is about 12-14 here, so he’s still growing and developing as a person and as a skater. As egotistical as he is, you can’t help but feel for him for wanting a certain image. He has a vision and he wants to execute it. As corny as “JJ Style” sounds, it’s something he came up with, and he’s proud of the idea.
And now look at her facial expression. That’s the face of someone who wants to tell you “it’s just not going to work, babe” but doesn’t know how to softly deliver the blow. In other words, Leo’s coach isn’t sure she wants to run with the “JJ Style” idea, and this most likely causes problems between the two because I see JJ as a very moody person when he doesn’t see eye to eye with people. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Like I said before, he’s proud of the idea, and it’s because he feels it captures who he is as a person. This rejection from Leo’s coach tells him “who you are isn’t going to get you anywhere, so we need to put that idea on the back burner”
This to me was so heartbreaking. Maybe it’s just me getting emotional about my favorite dickhead skater, but I really feel for him. He couldn’t even tell Mufasa Celestino what he wanted to do, and he’s getting a hand in his face punctuated by a “first of all, say, ‘yes.’”
Keep in mind that JJ here is about the same age as Yurio, and, for the second time, he’s being told that who he is isn’t going to get him anywhere. Which is the same thing Leo’s coach was getting at, but what’s different about Celestino is that he actually tells him “first of all, say ‘yes’” meaning “it’s my way or the highway, got it?”
Which makes this line and the first one from JJ’s father make more sense
I initially thought it was odd that JJ’s parents were his coaches, but now I see that it couldn’t have been easy for them to see their son so disheartened by every coach’s comment about “JJ Style.” When you remember that the Leroys are famous ice dancers, it makes more sense that they would want their son to skate with his whole heart and not just cater to the whims of his coach(es).
JJ’s father might be speaking as a parent in this moment, but it’s because he and his wife know how much “JJ Style” means to their son. At the end of the day, they care about his happiness more than how he performs on the ice, which is a complete 180 from how Leo’s coach and Celestino were portrayed in the flashback.
“So, are the rumors true?” the young woman interviewing Jared asked. “Are you and Y/N pregnant with your first child?” she asked, eyeing Jared, her eyes darting to you for any sign of confirmation.
“Well,” Jared said with a small smirk. “We’ve certainly been working on it,” he smiled devilishly, squeezing your thigh as he licked his lip and bit it, the dimples prominent on his face as he watched the girl who had asked the question with a proud smile on his face.
“Jared,” you whispered under breath, laughing slightly. He looked down at you, a dark look in his eyes. “That much is true, Y/N,” he said, his eyes darting down to your lips.
His face neared yours, his lips falling on yours in a chaste kiss. You chased his lips when he pulled away, causing him to chuckle, low in his throat. “We can’t exactly practice right here,” he whispered in your ear, kissing the spot that he knew drove you wild.
The young woman interviewing Jared cleared her throat and you giggled slightly, looking to her.
“The rumors are true,” you answered her, Jared’s eyes widening as he watched you.
“Wait, what?” he asked, the shock and surprise evident in his voice. “No way. No way!” he repeated over and over. “Are you kidding?” he asked, pulling you from your seat, forcing you to stand between his legs, his eyes not leaving yours. He had all but forgotten about the interview.
“I’m serious, Jare,” you smiled, running your hands along his broad chest, biting your lip nervously.
“Holy shit!” he practically yelled, standing and wrapping his arms around your waist and picking you up off the floor as you squealed. “We’re having a kid!” he exclaimed, spinning you in a circle, laughing. “My wife is having my kid!” he repeated, burying his face in your neck, kissing it repeatedly.
You laughed with him, tears pressing at the backs of your eyes.
“I’m having your kid,” you confirmed, locking your eyes with his.
He kissed you then, long, hard and deep, his lips moving against yours with reverence, his large hand at the small of your back, pressing you firmly against him.
You both pulled away breathless and you asked, “First doctor’s appointment is today, Jay. You coming?” you asked, offering your hand to him with a smile.
“Hell yeah I’m coming,” he laughed, threading his long fingers with yours. “Let’s go see our baby!” he said, dragging you toward the door, the interview and the poor young lady long forgotten.

I know there were people who disliked Rumbelle from the very beginning, in the same way that there were people who loved them from that exact moment.
I personally didn’t have a problem with this pairing, I mean, I didn’t ship them, but as long as Belle chose to see the best in him, I looked at her as naive, but I was totally indifferent to their relationship.
Along the way there were moments where I was proud of her, like this one:
Others where I wasn’t too frilled. But In general I was “on the fence” with this ship. Well, not anymore.
I want you to take a good look at this face:
This is the face of a woman that is terrified of her own husband. This is the face of an abused wife, this is the face of someone who is trapped as a prisoner, there’s also the bracelet that symbolizes just that (BTW very a la Genie from Aladdin!)
How can someone continue shipping this pair? I’m sorry, this is much more than a personal taste at this point. This is not only an unhealthy relationship, but a sick one. And honestly, I’m disappointed that A&E chose on one of their last interviews to say that Rumple at the end of the day loves her. That there is love there. I’m sorry, but this is not love!!! You don’t do that to someone you love. And saying that it is makes them not understand their own show!!!
I don’t have anything against Rumbelle shippers, I never had (as long as they were not Hook haters), but if someone is still shipping them together after everything that this poor woman has suffered in the last few episodes, he/she should take a moment to rethink it. Because this is an abusive relationship! Rumple may not physically beat her, (although speeding the pregnancy looked really painful), but he has emotionally abused her in every sense of the word.
I really hope this couple won’t end up together at the end of the show, I think it will send a really wrong message to the viewers. Some things can’t be forgotten.
This woman is incredible and she deserves so much more than that.
Dean let go of Ellie’s red hair and looked up at you. He was clearly very proud of his handy work. Dean hand tried to braid her hair, but the result was a mixture of dreads and pigtails and what kind of looked like braids. It was a hot mess whatever it was.
“Ta-Da!” he smiled as he took a step back from your daughter and surveyed his creation. You placed your hand over your mouth and stifled a giggle. Your daughter’s face immediately contorted in concern as she jump down from the bar stool and ran toward the bathroom.
You giggled as she darted past you. “It’s not that bad, kid,” you promised as she continued toward the bathroom.
Just then Sam stepped in the room. He smiled and watched his niece zip by. “Nice hair, kid,” he laughed, and you punched him in the shoulder.
“What?” Sam asked, not sure what he had missed.
“I think we are gonna have a full blown melt down in five, four, three, two…”
Suddenly Ellie’s screams filled the bunker. “Daddy!!! What did you do?!” She bellowed from the bathroom. You turned to look at Dean who had a look of sheer panic on his face.
“You did that?” Sam laughed, an amused look spreading across his face.
“Shut up, dude. Like you could do better,” Dean challenged.
“Bet, I could,” he chortled, heading for the bathroom. “Need some help, Ellie. Uncle Sam knows a few tricks,” he said, but before he reached the bathroom she slammed it shut.
Both you and Dean burst into laughter. Your five year old had a mind of her own. She knew if dad couldn’t do her hair, uncle Sammy sure as hell couldn’t do it either.
“Come on, El,” Sam pleaded, knocking on the door.
“No way. I want mom,” you heard her whine.
That was the final word right there. Sam threw his arms up in resignation as he walked by you. You patted him on the shoulder, still laughing. “Valiant effort, Sammy.”
“Ellie Ann, you better unlock that door before I get there,” you warned as you walked down the hall. It swung open before you were half way down the hall, your daughter stepping into the hall, her arms crossed over her tiny chest.
“Daddy is gonna pay for this,” she huffed, her brow furrowed in anger.
You scooped her into your arms, kissing her angry brow. “Now Ellie. He really thought he was helping, didn’t you Dean?”
“Sorry, Princess. Make it up to you?” He offered. You knew those were dangerous words because you never knew just how Ellie would choose to make you pay her back when you owed her.
“Okay,” she said, perking up at his offer. “I know just the thing,” she smiled, jumping down from your arms and grabbing him by the hand, pulling him toward her room. “I’m gonna make you a pretty princess.” Dean groaned and she stopped in the middle of the hall, rounding on him, her hands landing on her hips, glaring at him. “And you’re going to like it,” she said, poking him in the chest.
He looked back at you, his eyebrow raised, a small smirk on his lips. You giggled behind your hand as he mouthed, “What the fuck? She is just like you.” Before Ellie dragged him the rest of the way down the hall to her room.
“Paybacks a bitch,” Sam laughed as he watched Dean be dragged away.
Ellie’s head whipped around, her eyes locking with Sam’s. “Watch it Uncle Sam, or you’ll be next,” she warned before continuing down the hall with Dean.
You bust into laughter. She was definitely your kid. You hoped that wore off as she grew or the three of you were so screwed.
