Ohmygod that Romano x Romania was so cute! Sjenfjfjndj! Can I request some headcanons for another rare pair? It's Canada x Finland which personally I just call Maple Snow :3

MAPLE. SNOW. Their ship name… IS MAPLE SNOW.

  • Okay so they really met during WW2 probably.
  • They managed to talk and while under war conditions they tried to be on good terms.
  • They talked about human rights and animal protection and found they had a crap ton in common in that regard.
  • They also had a sniper competition, the winner is still unknown, but they will say it’s the other cause they’re nice like that.
  • They do get super into it? But they do not let the fight ruin them.
  • After the war time, Tino had been the one to get in contact with Mattie, asking him to visit.
  • They just click so damn well.
  • Since they are both cold nations, it’s very easy for them to visit each other.
  • Their favorite night time activity together is watching the northern lights, and in turn watching the other’s eyes change too.
  • (Personal headcanon that nations who do have northern lights, when they get close to the lights, their eyes start to reflect the colors.)
  • Mathew did invite Tino to a hockey game, and in turn, Tino took Matthew to a viking metal concert.
  • It’s a good past time for the both of them, not actually expecting the other to be so into the violence of each activity, but thoroughly enjoying it with them.
  • Tino smiled so wide for an entire week after hearing Matthew mumbling the lyrics to one of his metal songs.
  • They love attending outings together, anywhere and anything together is fun.
  • Like they went shopping together once and ended up giggling in the pasta isle for no reason, but it was together.
  • They are like that couple who you see, and can’t think of a time they weren’t together? Like you know they weren’t always together, but like. They were totally always together.
  • Matthew likes to cook for Tino, and every chance he gets to do so he will. He feels like Tino spoils him, so he makes up for it in food.
  • MMMM cuddles. Blanket cuddles, warm beverage in their hands with their heads pressed closed together with soft music in the background cuddles, hiding under the blankets and whispering for no reason cuddles, lazy morning cuddles, early evening cuddles. CUDDLES OKAY.
  • Kumajiro likes Tino, as much as he likes anyone at least, Tino usually brings him some fish to make nice so Kuma will grace him with baps of his paw in approval.
  • The bear has more than once crawled into the middle of the cuddles, not because he wants them apart, but because between them is where the warmth is.
  • Since Christmas is like, super important to Tino, Matthew is sure to help set up the house, decorate, set out cookies, and maybe wrap presents.
  • This also means Matthew gets really hecking good gifts.
  • The rest of the Nordics are pretty chill with Matthew, similar climates, similar attitude to Tino, and very easy to get along with.
  • There was a lot of confusion when it came to “new foundland”, so they just decided to call Matthew an honorary family member.
  • Matthew’s family is cool with Tino, if only because they know he makes Matthew happy, and because Matthew is just very quite, so when he mentions Tino often, they know he’s important.
  • They have a lot of snow dates.
  • Lots of dates in general, like they just like going out and about.
  • They are a very soft couple.
  • But they have the potential to rip someone apart for any inhuman reason. Watch your back buddy.
  • They may or may not have gotten into an actual fight, if only for the funsies.
  • They kissed every wound better afterwards.

Bonus NSFW?

  • The it’s either super soft and quiet and giggly, or rougher than hell no in between.

Griffin keeps warning us not to expect too much from the mini arcs and on one hand I completely get it, I totally understand. But on the other hand I started this podcast listening to the entire three-hour episode of them figuring out how to play D&D, with absolutely no idea who they were before listening to that ep, and like… I know what this is gonna be, I know what I’m in for, it’s going to be this group trying to play a game while making jokes and honestly that is still completely what I signed up for. I am not going to be disappointed. I’m thrilled at the idea of a new adventure, even a small one.

I just... I just wanna talk about Matt Holt for a second.

This kid has been to hell and back. On his first mission into space ever he, along with his father and captain, gets abducted and basically tortured by a homicidal alien race. This boy has never left earth. Up until this point he didn’t even know that there was life outside of earth! So, he’s gotta come to terms with all that, and also with the fact that he is now a prisoner who will probably spend the rest of his now very short life at the mercy of these killers.

Then, he gets separated from his father and Shiro. Shiro saves his life and then he’s gone. His father is sent away and this kid is alone. Like really, truly alone. And from what we learn about him, he seems like a pretty independent, self-assured individual. But he’s got two parents, he’s got a little sister whom he’s really close to, I’m sure he had some close friends too. I don’t think Matt Holt has ever really been alone in his life. But then, suddenly, he is.

But this kid, man. This kid makes it. He is resilient. Through a series of events, he is freed from his captors. And what does he do? He doesn’t run away, he doesn’t try to go back to earth. He doesn’t break down and let his experience overtake him. He joins a resistance group and fights. Not only does he fight, but he becomes a ranking officer! Like, he doesn’t know any of these aliens from a hole in the wall and they don’t know him. He owes them nothing. But somehow, he feels a duty to stand with them against the ones who took him away from everything he ever knew and everything he ever loved.

So, he fought and he resisted and made some dangerous enemies. So dangerous, in fact, that it would seem he had to fake his own death and go off-grid so that he wouldn’t be found. Now, this kid is on an unknown planet scouring through transmissions that he can’t really understand hoping to find even hints of clues to defeat the enemy. He is alone once again, in every sense of the word.

This kid should be hard as stone at this point. But when the audience finally gets their first look at him. He’s happy. He’s cheerful. He praises his sister, he flirts with Allura, and he even makes a food pun!

You have a kid who’s been to hell and back. A kid who’s got literal scars from his demons. A kid who, out of all the characters, except maybe Shiro, has had the most traumatic experiences. And yet, he’s still so… bright. He still smiles, and laughs and jokes and appreciates things like how smart his sister is or how pretty a girl is. And I think that’s just pretty fucking amazing.
