but it was follow up for debut

When Phillipa Soo was growing up in suburban Chicago, she would climb onto her parents’ coffee table in her pink tutu to perform. There, before a rapt audience of her brother and stuffed animals, she’d belt out Aretha Franklin songs at the top of her lungs.

The performer has come a long way from a tabletop in Libertyville, Ill. Just two months after graduating from the Juilliard School’s acting program in 2012, she made a much-heralded debut as Tolstoy’s Russian heroine Natasha Rostova in the pop opera “Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812.” By the end of the following year, she was playing Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in “Hamilton,” a role that brought her a Lucille Lortel Award when the show was off-Broadway and later a Tony Award nomination.

Now comes Soo’s chance to indulge the shy and introverted side of that little girl in the tutu. She is wide-eyed and mischievous, silly and sweet onstage as Amélie Poulain, the Parisian waitress with an impish grin belying her shyness, careening through Montmartre secretly doing good deeds for others and, finally, for herself. Based on the 2001 French film that made Audrey Tautou a star, “Amélie, A New Musical” is set to open Dec. 16 at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles prior to a Broadway run next spring.

“When I first saw the film in high school, I automatically related to the character of Amélie and felt close to her,” says Soo, who also known by the nickname Pippa. “There was a lot of magic about the film that lifted people, and I definitely felt that as well. I was a young person trying to go out into the world, and so was she. I kind of always wanted to be her, and this was a great chance to do that.”

‘Hamilton’ star Phillipa Soo on bringing the magic of 'Amélie’ to the stage

Jackson hasn’t fenced in 6 YEARS but he’s still so good like this is how talented Jackson is… Jackson Wang is such a talented fencer but he dropped it all to follow his dream of becoming an idol and I think people don’t realize how much he sacrificed to be an idol. He passed up his chance to go to Stanford and continue representing Hong Kong so he could follow his dream to entertain people okay like Jackson Wang worked so hard for this. Please appreciate Jackson Wang. He worked so hard to win the YOG in 2010 so his dad would allow him to become a trainee and from then he worked so hard to debut in GOT7. LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN. Jackson Wang is a hard worker and he deserves everything that he has okay please don’t ever discount anything he ever does!!!!!

On January 27th, Amazon Video is debuting a new series directed by Goro Miyazaki (Hayao Miyazaki’s son) animated by Polygon Pictures and co-produced by Studio Ghibli. The series is called Sanzoku no Musume Rōnya, or Ronia/Ronja the Robber’s Daughter and is based on a story by famed Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren, notable for being author of the Pippi Longstocking children’s book series. Gillian Anderson has been cast as the english narrator for the series.

The story follows “the only child of a bandit chief, [who] grows up among a clan of robbers living in a castle in the woodlands of early-Medieval Scandinavia”.

The series is computer-animated and cel shaded, which will be a huge leap from Studio Ghibli’s standard animation style and my surprise many viewers, but still promises to have much of Ghibli’s notable character design and overall theming.

This will be Goro Miyazaki’s third animated production, following the 2006 Tales from Earthsea and 2011 From Up on Poppy Hill. About this new series, he stated, “Ronia the Robber’s Daughter is a story not just about a girl who grows into adulthood, but it is also a story about the love and growth between a parent and a child, and a story about the bonds between friends. My goal is to create a work that everyone, from children to adults, will be able to enjoy.”

The year is 2023, Mark Lee has participated in all 19 NCT sub unit debuts. He begs SM for a break, Mark is refused and reminded to practise for NCT XE’s debut next week. Worn out, Mark sighs and returns to the practise room alone. In a shadowy corner of the room Mark hears some rustling, “Who’s there?” he calls, frightened.
“I am a fellow member, yet I am the only one who has not debuted.” A voice replies, full of sadness
“Man, I wish I was you right now.” Mark sighs and sits on the floor
“Oh really?” The voice said, followed by some more rustling
“Who are you?” Mark says.
Out of the corner comes a tall, scraggly man, hunched over. A beard has grown and covered the lower half of his face. Mark squints at him, yet fails to recognise him. The man stands up straight, “I am Hansol.”

YG Fucked Up Don’t Cover Him

As a YG family stan I get how many of us want to cover YG (the CEO’s) ass at a time like this. Especially with how media treats him, and how there are some aspects of his management that show or lead us to believe he was the best CEO. Papa YG right? But seriously what happened with 2NE1 and Taehyun is inexcusable. Don’t be delusional and act put the fault of this event on 2ne1 members or taehyun, because YG could have done so many things to prevent it. YG should have stuck by Park Bom’s side through the drug scandal, instead of follow netizen desires and hide her from the public. He should have given Minzy the opportunity to do solo work. He should have given Winner more comebacks and provide taehyun (and all his artists) with proper emotional support and therapy. And this isn’t YG’s first fuck up, he’s got a dungeon full of trainees who have been waiting years for a debut. He’s got a dungeon full of artists who have been waiting to do what they love. as fans of YG artists we need to call him out on his shit so he can actually do something about it. That means doing everything in our power to voice our opposition and take action against YG, not bashing any of the 2ne1 members by accusing them of being a bad band mate. Not hating on CL or dara for resigning. No attacking bom or minzy for their decision to leave. That means no hating on Blackpink, because those girls and the other YG trainees have to deal with this shit CEO too, and they’re not responsible for what happened. and For the love of God please only send love and support for taehyun, because the most important thing is health. I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what to do to make our voices heard, but I do know pretending that YG CEO is still a loving father to all of his artists is pure delusional, that man is fucked up for what he’s done to young talents. He doesn’t deserve any of them.

where a supervillain gets upset that the hero is always late to foiling them. they investigate and find out there’s a new up and coming supervillain monopolizing the hero’s time. that cannot stand. the supervillain stages a coup and gets rid of the new supervillain for the hero. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LIKING THEM. SHUT UP.

followed by the supervillain planning a debut heist after knowing that the hero will show up

“did you move that wingback chair into the warehouse just for your speech?”

“it was here the whole time”

followed by the hero running late because their day job is really busy

“if they aren’t going to take this seriously, then they shouldn’t even be in the game”

“is this why you stopped stealing things on weeknights?”

Hey, guys!

Somebody tweeted me their video review of our Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider debut issue and upon listening I realized that there are a lot of readers who only know Robbie from the Agents of SHIELD TV show and are confused by the events in the comic. LOL

So I thought I’d give the reviewers a quick breakdown on Twitter to get them caught up, and also clear up some of their misguided confusion about what Ghost Rider’s new series entails.

I think most of you who follow me on Tumblr know all of this stuff already. Haha. But for any new peeps: Check it out!

Thanks again for reading and supporting, guys! Greatly appreciated, as always!

anonymous asked:

what are your top ten (twenty?) shinee moments?

it took me 3 years but I finally managed to come up with my top 10 20 25 (mostly ot5; some ot2, etc.) moments and I gotta say ily for making me revisit all of these okay

they are each very very special to me whether they depict smiles or tears (or both), so, a heads up: the following list was arranged in random order! and a friendly reminder that these are /my/ favorite for some reason or another; it’s fine if anyone doesn’t agree, you don’t have to.

1. I’m your boy tour @ tokyo dome ending talk (2015)

this should go without comments, but… even though this list isn’t sorted in any particular way, if there’s any moment that deserves to top it… this is it. tokyo dome had been their dream since japanese debut days, and watch it come to life was more than any of them, any of us could take. they cried, we cried, everywhere and everything was shinee and we didn’t allow ourselves nor anyone else to suppress our pride at how long they’d come, have come. it felt awesome to see everyone gathering together in a single mess of too many emotions.

2. that one time jinki murdered taemin at the JAT  (2013)

“I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” reaches new peak position at No. 2 this week and it becomes the highest-charting Hot 100 single from the Fifty Shades franchise

Zayn and Taylor Swift’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker)” rises 3-2 on the Hot 100, hitting a new peak. As parent album the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, following its Feb. 10 release and the arrival of the movie the same day, “Live” lifts 3-2 on Digital Song Sales (143,000, up 31 percent). It also jumps 5-2 on Radio Songs (109 million, up 10 percent), while keeping at No. 4 on Streaming Songs (21.2 million, down 7 percent).

Just as Fifty Shades Darker becomes the franchise’s first Billboard 200 No. 1, besting the No. 2 peak of 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey, “Live” takes over as the highest-charting Fifty Shades Hot 100 hit; it one-ups the No. 3 peaks of the first soundtrack’s “Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding and “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)” by The Weeknd.

get to know me meme: [2/5] underrated groups i love → Stellar (2011)

“Following an unsuccessful debut with the single "Rocket Girl” in August 2011, Stellar underwent a line-up change and released “UFO” in February 2012, which fared similarly. The group began working with production team MonoTree in July 2013 and released “Study”, which experienced modest success and became their first single to chart in the top 100 of the Gaon Digital Chart. Stellar gained notoriety in February 2014, when they adopted a more “provocative” image for the release of their first extended play Marionette. The album’s title track peaked at number thirty-five on the Gaon Digital Chart, making it their most commercially successful single thus far. This stylistic change in direction would be maintained in Stellar’s subsequent releases “Vibrato” in 2015 and their second extended play “Sting” in 2016.“

Grey’s Anatomy first look: Maggie’s mom comes to Grey Sloan! | EW

Maggie’s mom is coming to Grey’s Anatomy — and EW has the exclusive first look at her debut.

LaTanya Richardson Jackson has been tapped to play Maggie’s (Kelly McCreary) mother, Diane, who pays the hospital a visit in an episode slated for Feb. 9.

Details on what brings her to the hospital are being kept under wraps, but it was previously revealed that Maggie’s adoptive parents were getting divorced. Maggie is the bio-daughter of Richard Webber and Ellis Grey, for those who may not remember.

The actress, who is the real life wife of Samuel L. Jackson, counts Luke Cage and Blue Bloods among her TV credits.

One Direction break six 2016 Guinness World Records
They might be taking a hiatus next year, but the boys of One Direction will still be in the 2016 Guinness World Records book. The record keepers...
  1. First group to debut at No. 1 with their first four albums in the U.S.: Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, Four
  2. First U.K. group to debut at No. 1 in U.S. with debut album (same as above)
  3. Highest debut by U.K. group on U.S. singles chart at No. 3 with “Live While We’re Young”
  4. Most popular dance game track for their “What Makes You Beautiful” routine on Just Dance 4, which garnered 36,817,975 views
  5. Most followers on Twitter for a music group: 23,393,106
  6. Most subscribers for a band on YouTube: 36,817,975 views

The series will be written by Ed Brisson with art by Mike Perkins and debut in March 2017. The story will be a direct follow-up of previous series ‘Iron Fist: The Living Weapon’ and will follow Danny as he deals with the destruction of the mystical city K’un-Lun. This series is in addition to the previously announced ‘Iron Fists’ series which is also set to debut in 2017!

The Hamilton Mixtape, the all-star compilation that features artists like Sia, Nas, Chance the Rapper, Alicia Keys and dozens more reimagining the music from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning Broadway show, debuted atop the Billboard 200, selling 187,000 total copies in its first week of release.

The Hamilton Mixtape has already out-charted its Broadway cast recording predecessor, which peaked at Number Three on the Billboard 200 following its huge Tony Awards night, Billboard reports.

The musical’s cast recording, which debuted at Number 12 in October 2015, has been a mainstay in the Top 10 ever since the Tonys; Hamilton is 2016’s fifth highest-selling album. Unfortunately, a wave of high-charting new releases prevented the mixtape and the cast recording from populating the Top 10 this week.

Happy N7 day, everyone!

I’m starting off the holiday by reposting this old piece that I dug out of my folder from last n7 day, because I ended up first posting it like five months late anyway, and it deserves at least one debut on the actual day it was painted for. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Today my art blog will basically be a continual spam of Mass Effect Things that I’ve been working on in honor of the day, so @ my followers please brace yourselves: the feels are still strong with this one.

(also, this painting is up on my redbubble here)

so i was scrolling through a website for k-fans and the DAY6 fans were discussing how brian’s lyrics are always somewhat naughty so one of them posted his rewritten lyrics for their my house cover from their debut showcase
& basically it means:

i wanna take you to my house

follow me

don’t let anybody know, don’t tell anyone

nobody stop her

i only had two glasses of malibu

and it might be a rational judgement

but everything’s going to become a mess,

your hair, and your make up that you spent an hour on

and if you’re okay with all that,

don’t say a word, take my hand, and follow me

Ok so we have Yuri Plisetsky a russian skating genius and the most probable succesor of Viktor Nikiforov.

Also we have Yuuri Katsuki, who if i’m not wrong, started skating professionally when he moved to Detroit 5 years back.

By that time Yuri Plisetsky was like 10 years old and he got to hear about another ice skater making his debut who happened to have his very same name, so yeah if i was Yuri i would follow whatever happens to that other skater with my same name.

We all know Yuuri Katsuki is actually one of the best skaters (even if he doesn’t think he is) other younger skaters look up to him. And his presentations are sublime he might fail the jumps but he pours his feelings while skating.

And guess what is Yuri’s weakness while skating? Certainly not the jumps.

Bonus: Yuri Plisetsky has saved 33 pics of Yuuri at the banquet on his phone, way more pics than the number Viktor and Chris have combined on their phones.
