but i'm incapable of giffing so

“Mirren was pulled from the Thames by American actress Susan Lucci. A grateful Mirren has promised to cast Lucci in her next film, to be directed by Martin Scorsese. Could an Oscar for Lucci be the reward for her heroic act?”

↳ Day 2: Favorite Friendship

“If two parabatai fall in love, they will be cursed,” was the thought of James Carstairs.
Alec must’ve suffered a lot. Knowing that his love to Jace stays unrequited, that it’s impossible for a parabatai to fall in love with each other, must’ve been killing him.
We watch Alec, how he suppresses his feelings; the pain he feels inside, just looking at his face we know he’s trying to act like he’s okay but in fact he’s not.
Jace would put his hands in the fire for Alec; and so would Alec. He’d never leave Alec behind, his brother, his parabatai. It must’ve been a burden to both of them.
And then there was Clary. When she showed up, Alec broke. I can clearly remember the part—and I’m sure you do, too—when Clary first kissed Jace and Alec just stood there, unbelievably watching them, incapable of forming words.
How sad was that?

it’s important not to yell at your friends, but especially important when they are in the same big shirt as you.

..All day I feel its soft, feathery turnings, its malignity.
Clouds pass and disperse.
Are those the faces of love, those pale irretrievables?
Is it for such I agitate my heart?

I am incapable of more knowledge.
What is this, this face
So murderous in its strangle of branches? -

Its snaky acids kiss.
It petrifies the will. These are the isolate, slow faults
That kill, that kill, that kill.

Was a movie made recently about Fanu's novel Carmilla? I saw that you tagged a gif set with "Carmilla" and I got VERY excited. It was a landmark of a novel that is so under-appreciated.

Hello friend,

OH MAN, MY TIME HAS COME. *prepares to introduce you to the best thing ever*

Let me tell you, friend, it is SO WONDERFUL. This webseries found here is everything that novel did right and made it even better imo. It’s a modern adaptation of it that just finished it’s first (AND NOT LAST BC SEASON 2) season and takes place at basically the university equivalent of Sunnydale High School in Buffy—Silas University—(supernatural shit happens here). It’s amazing for many reasons…

Because you’ve got Laura Hollis:

aka Tiny Gay Laura played by the AMAZING, gorgeous, adorable Elise Bauman - an utterly dorky, adorable, in-over-her-head, insatiably curious college student who begins making a series of videos documenting her investigation of the disappearance of her roommate.

Then you’ve got Carmilla Karnstein:

aka Broody Gay Carmilla played by the too-gorgeous-to-actually-be-real Natasha Negovanlis - a 200+ years old vampire who walks in snark and sarcasm and the object of suspicion in Laura’s investigation. She’s got a ton of issues, let’s say, but she’s actually much more vulnerable than she looks and is a complete goner for Laura because look at them

Then there’s Danny Lawrence:

aka Very Tall Gay Danny played by gorgeous af-I-wish-I-knew-her-IRL and adorable Sharon Belle - Laura’s Lit TA who’s insanely awesome and tough and brave and part of the Summer Society which sounds amazing ngl and very very protective, especially of Laura.

Then there’s Lafontaine:

aka Very Gay Laf played by amazing, HILARIOUS Kaitlyn Alexander - Lafontaine/Laf is non-binary and an absolutely amazing character. They’re insanely brave and literally always figuring shit out and they say some of the best lines in the whole show.

Then there’s Lola Perry:

aka Only Gay for Laf Perry played by seriously talented, perfect everything Annie Briggs - Perry is the floor don and honestly adorable and forever trying to keep everything under control, which is basically impossible at this school. She’s the mother hen of the group and she’s best friends (and totally in love) with Lafontaine and the two of them are basically married

This show has amazing writing, casting, acting and each episode is anywhere from 2-7 minutes long so you can finish the whole thing in like 2 and a half hours so watch it now  and it’s absolutely hilarious, but also really romantic and suspenseful and you’ll fall in love with it so fast. It’s so important for representation reasons and almost every character is gay and it’s not even questioned or an issue, it just is and not made to be this big dramatic thing and that’s wonderful.

Also, because it’s a webseries and we’re to believe this world shown us in the webseries is real, the characters have twitter and/or tumblr which actually expands the show in a really cool way.

Even better than that, the cast and crew and basically everyone involved in this series is super passionate about it and they interact with their fans through tumblr and twitter. They’re big fans of the show they star in/write/direct or whatever and it’s absolutely fantastic.

I’d be remiss not to mention the Captain here, because Kaitlyn Alexander (kbearluna on tumblr) who plays Laf is the captain of everything and ships Laferry (Perry/Laf) like no one else. They love this show, they brings cast members on their youtube channel for gin-terviews (the greatest things ever fyi…the whole channel is freaking great because Kaitlyn) in which they let people from tumblr ask questions, they interact with fans and have done meet-ups (forever hoping I’m one of those fans one day) and loves this show so much and basically you can’t not love Kaitlyn.

Basically, the show is AMAZING, and there’s so much more beyond just the show itself, so you should watch it immediately.
