but i don't think kelly is thinking about babies right now

Castiel, Prince of Hell. It’s catchy. It rhymes.

I warned y’all that this speculation might piss people off, so I’ll just go ahead and throw it up there in the title so that way you can skip it if you so choose.

We know we’re in for a hell of a cliffhanger this year. (”You guys are going to hate me.” - Mark Pellegrino. Or something like that.) I mean, we always are, because that’s what the show does… but how about more of one than usual?

Could Cas be next season’s Big Bad, as a Prince of Hell?

Yeah, yeah – I know. Many of you are just gonna smile politely, nod, and whisper to each other about that one lady yelling about glowing eyes again. (I do yell about eyeballs a lot. Have I mentioned that I like glowing eyes today? Well, if you didn’t know - I dig glowing eyeballs. That said, there’s way more to this than glowing eyeballs.)

But hear me out if you have the patience, because I have a bunch of words here explaining why I’m seeing this (even though I’m gonna say there’s like… a 7.3% chance of this actually happening, just because I like pulling totally random stats out of my butt). I already know @mittensmorgul does NOT see this happening at all. But if/when it doesn’t happen, maybe somebody will be inspired to write an awesome canon-divergent fic over the summer.

So, if you’re interested, surge on ahead.

not only MP, now also misha said that cas will be back but we must consider there are also alternate universes, this is making me more nervous I don't want an alternate cas , all the character development and his history with dean lost, it's so upsetting :(

Yeah, I’ve had questions along this line, but I haven’t been able to really answer formally. Along these lines and also in my inbox this morning: (AN: all things in italics are other anon messages… sometimes my inbox helps me out with anons sort of answering each other… Eldritch Inbox):

Hello, i’m sorry if you answered this already, but i do have a question about a certain theory going about about the idea of an au!cas (possibly the one who got killed?) I guess i’m kind of confused about it and was wondering if you’ve either already spoken on it or can expand on the idea? thanks :)

and

Im worried now theyll just exchange Cas for AU cas and think thats fine because we still have the same actor. The flash did the same thing had the character leavd and brozgh the guys alernative version to stick around

and:

While I can see them (hopefully) using AU Cas in good way for a few eps (tho it doesn’t make sense because there would be no reason for JimmyCas in the other world, but they often don’t address stuff that doesn’t make sense well) I don’t think they would decide to not bring regular Cas back. They have 2 seasons left. I don’t think they would get rid of 1 of the mains. 50% if you counted Crowley. Tho they did that with Angel and the relationship on that show in the last season. Hmm.

Okay, I really, truly 100% honestly don’t think they’re going to use AU Cas at all as a replacement for OUR Cas. If the show is going to open up more alternate realities, I can see OUR Cas (and Sam and Dean) meeting those alternate universe versions for an episode here and there, if only to MIRROR what our Cas is going through, but WHY would they bring Cas THIS FAR in his story, to the point where HE HIMSELF has developed and grown and learned SO MUCH ABOUT HIMSELF, and been prodded by practically EVERY CHARACTER EVER about WHO HE IS and WHAT HE WOULD CHOOSE TO BE if they were just gonna toss him out and bring in replacement copies with entirely different life experiences?

We don’t just love the concept of what would essentially boil down to a random character wearing Misha’s face, WE LOVE OUR CAS. Who we’ve watched struggle FOR NINE DAMN YEARS to get to this point in his understanding of humanity, his compassion, his sense of family, and his LOVE for the Winchesters… like two steps before he was ready to make some BIG FINAL CHOICES for himself… And I can’t think of ANY reason for the writers to just erase ALL of that and start over with a “blank slate” version of Cas. Honestly if that’s what they’re planning to do, I would forever be officially done with this damn show.

Talk about your Jump The Shark moments.

BUT! Considering the Cas we saw on screen looked identical to our Cas, down to the coat and tie, and the fact that the Apocalypse AU didn’t look like they had a Dillard’s, I’m assuming that we have not met a Castiel from that AU. What reason would he have for looking like Jimmy Novak in our Castiel’s outfit when AU Bobby looked the way he did, and when AU demons LOOKED like demons (not possessed humans), and when we heard AU angels were human-hating monsters too… Something tells me AU Cas would look NOTHING like Jimmy in suit and tie. It just makes no logical sense.

Even MAGIC in that AU didn’t seem to work properly. Crowley’s spell didn’t seem to be what closed the portal. It was the nephilim’s birth that closed it.

Which brings me back around to the beginning of the line (just like the structure of the episode, and the meta-ness of the title– a song that ends at the beginning…)

Kelly grabs Cas’s hand, after he’s seen the AU that the nephilim SHOWED HIM SPECIFICALLY, of what the world without the Winchesters would look like– remember in 12.09 when Cas was ADAMANT that the world needs every last Winchester? And he was willing to break cosmic-level deals to make sure the world could keep its Winchesters? To me, in this scene where Kelly needs reassurance about Castiel’s “vision of the future” the nephilim showed him, that is something that’s ALSO forefront on his mind:

Kelly: Tell me again. Tell me again what you saw.
Cas: All right. I saw… I saw (he closes his eyes and concentrates on Kelly taking his hand in 12.19, exactly as she just did now)… I saw the future. (flashback to 12.19, with the nephilim’s power flowing through Cas and lighting his eyes up gold). I saw a world without pain, or hunger, or want. I saw the world that this child– that your child– will create. And it is a world without fear, and without suffering, and without hate. I saw paradise.

As he finishes recounting the memory for her, the lights flicker and we hear the Impala pulling up outside. Like the nephilim was alerting Cas to the Winchesters’ presence.

And then Cas learns that Lucifer isn’t in the cage. He can’t even believe it at first. So that’s something the nephilim obviously didn’t bother informing him about… Dean asks Cas if he’ll be able to torch Lucifer the same way he torched Dagon, and Cas attributes that 100% to the baby (who’s a little busy being born at the moment…). But in 12.19, Cas said it was a combination of their powers… so what’s the truth?

Even as Cas tells Dean that it was only the nephilim working through him, he heals Dean in a way that is VERY DIFFERENT from every other time in history. I’m not the only one who noticed. I refer you again to my inbox:

I think it’s interesting that literally seconds after Cas tells Dean he doesn’t have the nephilim’s power at his disposal, he heals Dean’s leg with the nephilim’s gold light. It makes me wonder if Cas has some of the nephilim’s power within him that could save him. OR when Cas healed Dean, maybe that power transferred to Dean. He seemed oddly invigorated after he was healed, ya know? Like more so than usual.

and:

Hi so when I was watching the second ep after Cas first left the alternate dimension I noticed he seemed a bit off. Do u think there’s any way that he was like possessed or something?

BECAUSE YES! HELLO! I’ve been saying that the nephilim has somehow been using Cas since 12.19. Maybe it’s not “brainwashing” or “mind control,” but I’ve been struggling to explain the nuance here. Maybe more like “infection?” or “poison?” In a similar way the Lance of Michael “poisoned” Cas in 12.12, But that’s not even right.

Like the Angel Tablet was able to direct Cas to protect it over everything else, even his relationship with the Winchesters, I think the nephilim has that kind of power over him. And that for whatever reason, he Chose Cas as his protector.

Cas also tried to prevent Sam and Dean from going out back and seeing the portal in the first place. And then he downplayed it while also being mesmerized by it. But he’s absolutely certain that Jack OPENED the door, and that he will close it too.

Cas then goes up to talk to Kelly alone, and she asks him what’s wrong… and it looks like he’s SINCERELY HAVING DOUBTS. While Dean’s downstairs telling Sam that he has faith in US…

WE DO NOT SEE WHAT GOES DOWN BETWEEN CAS AND KELLY aside from him holding her hand AGAIN and sort of robotically saying, “Don’t worry, it will be fine. Remember, paradise.”

Did he tell her about the portal between worlds, and the horror on the other side of the doorway her child had opened? When Crowley showed up at the exact right moment, seemingly already knowing about the portal and exactly how to close it (in theory?) When Lucifer shows up out front (seemingly NOT already knowing about the portal?).

And Lucifer’s reasoning is the same as Amara’s was, and the same as Jack the Nephilim’s is– “I can do better than god, so I’m gonna burn the place down and start over to make the world just how I want it.”

Right before Cas attacks, Dean says, “See you on the other side, boys.”

THE OTHER SIDE.

The other side of the house… the other side of the portal.

THEIR PLAN, I CAN ONLY ASSUME, IS TO TRAP LUCIFER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PORTAL BEFORE JACK CAN CLOSE IT.

I think that’s what the nephilim WANTED. And also why he waited SO LONG to close it… because Crowley’s spell was never going to work there. But the nephilim wanted Sam and Dean and CAS TOO on THIS SIDE OF THE PORTAL. I think that AU was the nephilim’s solution to shoving Luci back in the cage. To send him to a world where his vessel bloodline is extinct. A world he can’t possibly destroy any more than it’s already destroyed. He wanted an apocalypse, that’s what Jack gave him.

Cas is knocked out in front of the house. I’m sort of enamored with the idea that he’s still unconscious out there, and the Cas we saw in the rest of the episode was nothing more than a construct– an illusion sent by Jack to act as a lure, for whatever reason. Because his actions after this are a bit confusing…

Sam and Dean lead Lucifer around to the portal and then cross over to lure Luci through. Dean plays bait while Sam and Crowley work the spell (why on THAT side of the rift? Why not on the “right side”?

Sam pulls Dean away to the rift as Crowley sacrifices himself, and for some reason they just stop there? They stand around watching Crowley’s demise. YET SOME VERSION OF CAS THAT DOESN’T EVEN RESPOND TO DEAN, JUST PUSHES PAST HIM AND SAYS NOTHING, just charges through the rift toward Lucifer, and then seemingly just– walks up to Lucifer, stabs him, and then turns right around and comes back out again?

All while Kelly DISAPPEARS ENTIRELY IN A FLASH OF LIGHT AS JACK IS “BORN?”

We see Lucifer completely unaffected by the bullets Dean shot him with in the AU, as if Cas hadn’t been expecting Lucifer to be able to follow him out for some reason…

Kelly’s body has mysteriously returned to the bed after the light flash, and Jack’s huddled in the corner of his nursery staring up at Sam with those creepy yellow eyes.

I think Jack’s been using Cas all along, ever since 12.19, and I have seen nothing to break me of that belief.

It’s as if every time Cas gets near Sam and Dean, Jack loses a little bit of that control though. But Jack understands that Dean is both necessary as a motivation for Cas (he does everything for the Winchesters, not for heaven, not even for himself), as well as a potential risk. It’s as if Dean is what’s opening up Cas’s “doorways to doubt,” that he told Dean about in 4.16, right after Uriel told Dean that he was Cas’s “weakness.”:

DEAN: What’s going on, Cas? Since when does Uriel put a leash on you?
CASTIEL: My superiors have begun to question my sympathies.
DEAN: Your sympathies?
CASTIEL: I was getting too close to the humans in my charge. You. They feel I’ve begun to express emotions. The doorways to doubt. This can impair my judgment.

Then in 4.18 Cas relents and gives Dean the nudge in the right direction he needs to stop Sam from making a deal with Lilith (which could’ve potentially STOPPED the apocalypse, but that was before we knew killing Lilith would START it… but feels almost like a test of Cas’s loyalty to Heaven as much as anything, because that entire EPISODE seems in retrospect like a strange loop of Chuck getting to know the players in his own game), and leads directly to him being dragged back to Heaven Boot Camp for reprogramming.

When Cas comes back at the end of the episode, he’s changed. He serves heaven again, not man, and certainly not Dean…

I think Castiel’s “death” in 12.23 is serving the same sort of function. I’m thinking of it as Jack’s answer to Heaven Boot Camp. I am still absolutely convinced that Jack has been influencing Cas’s actions since 12.19, and that Cas is imbued with Jack’s power (hence the golden light when he healed Dean). There is no other explanation for it. Why else give Dean that little cut on his face that we got to see healed with that weird gold light, if it wasn’t to tell us that it was Jack’s power that healed him? It wasn’t clear in 12.19 because Cas was healing an internal injury beneath Dean’s jacket. We didn’t see that healing at work, because we were supposed to be asking ourselves whether or not Cas was being controlled by Jack still… but NOW WE HAVE VISUAL PROOF.

Why would Jack go through all this trouble to keep Cas close while keeping the Winchesters away unless they (or Dean, really) were interfering with that control somehow? Like Cas and his doubts in s4? And even in s5?

Like every time Cas has been “programmed” in Heaven one of his primary objectives was to STAY AWAY FROM THE WINCHESTERS? Like in 7.17 when he was Emmanuel. One day with Dean and he remembered EVERYTHING. Like Naomi controlling him in 8.17, where one day with Dean and he broke free of her control, only to be ruled by the angel tablet and immediately feel the need to run away from Dean again.

We even learned that CROWLEY spent most of s6 trying to convince Cas to stay away from Sam and Dean. It was the foundation of his entire plan to crack purgatory for the souls…

Instead of bringing Kelly back to the bunker in 12.19, KELLY (under the control of the nephilim already) STOLE THE IMPALA and ran away from the Winchesters. And then when Cas fell under Jack’s power he booped them unconscious and fled.

WHY WOULD HE DO THAT?

Because all of heaven, earth, hell, and purgatory KNOW that Cas needs to be kept away from Dean if they want to use Cas for their own ends… and that’s exactly what Jack wants. But how can he sever Cas’s connection to the Winchesters?

FACTORY RESET.

He doesn’t have a Heaven Boot Camp with the Dentist’s Chair of Horror.

My guess? The Cas we’re going to see in 13.01 is going to be disturbingly familiar to the Cas at the end of 4.20. Instead of serving Heaven, he’s going to be all aboard the Jack bandwagon. Because Jack still needs SOMEONE, but he needs someone whose faith in him is unshakable. And as long as Cas has ties to the Winchesters as anything more than a symbolic reason for following Jack’s plan for bringing “paradise” to the world, a symbol he’d been willing to sacrifice himself for, then Cas’s loyalty was always in jeopardy.

But resurrected as something NEW, bearing Jack as the source of his power instead of Heaven or God or wherever angel Grace is hooked up to as a power source, he may have much greater control over Cas.

At least, that’s how I’ve been thinking of it…

(and I suspect that Cas will be restored to himself by midseason, and Jack will have effectively moved into Big Bad territory by then…)

“God, am I glad this job is over. I can’t wait to get the blonde dye out of my hair.”

“Really, Nat? I think it makes you look sexy. Kind of like-”

“If you say Marilyn Monroe, you’re sleeping on the couch tonight.”

“What I was going to say is you look like an actress from Hollywood’s golden age.”

“Really? Such as?”

“Grace Kelly, Ginger Rogers, Ingrid Bergman, you know. The really classy ones.”

“Well, aren’t you the sweet talker?”

The redhead smirked in spite of herself. Of course, Steve was right in his assessment of her appearance - although, she suspected that he was also really turned on by her temporary new look. Not that she could blame him for that.

They had been assigned to a SHIELD mission in Zurich, posing as a rich billionaire and his wife on the lookout to purchase diamonds. The diamonds they were looking for in particular were black market goods which were being used as a weapons fund for a terrorist cell in Switzerland.

The mission had gone down without a hitch and Steve and Nat had the op wrapped up neatly in a pretty package - as Natasha liked to call it - for SHIELD, only to learn that their talents were needed on another job asap in Vienna, Austria.

Natasha ran her fingers through her flouncy curls and sighed as she looked at herself in the bathroom mirror. “I miss my red hair.”

“Well, I miss it, too, but change isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes, it makes you appreciate what you had more so than when you first had it.” Steve rubbed his beard thoughtfully.

“Oh, yeah? Are you saying that you didn’t appreciate my amazing scarlet hair until we started this mission?”

A hearty chuckle came from Steve’s lips and he turned to Natasha with a grin on his face. “No way. I’ve always had a strong appreciation for your red hair. Believe me, I look forward to seeing it again.”

“I’m glad we agree on that.” Natasha ran her fingers over the growth on Steve’s chin and wrinkled her nose. “And I’ll be as equally happy to see you clean shaven sans tattoos. You look so…scruffy.”

Steve chuckled and slid his arm around his girlfriend and pulled her body close to his. He’d just taken a shower and Natasha squealed lightly because he was getting her shirt damp. “Well, don’t worry, babe. I’m shaving the the beard off for our next mission. I miss being fresh faced.”

Natasha smiled and linked her arms around Steve’s neck. “Steve,” she pouted in a mockingly whiny voice, “you’ve gotten me all wet. I’m going to have to dry this outfit, now.”

“That’s fine with me, seeing as how I was planning on taking it off anyway.” The blond smirked and scooped her up in his arms, carrying her to the bed.

“Come on, you just got cleaned up and we have to be in Vienna tomorrow afternoon at the latest!” Natasha furrowed her brow at him and tried to sound stern, but the truth was, it had been a full thirty-six hours, twenty-two minutes and fourteen seconds -not that she was counting - since they’d last made love.

Needless to say, she was in the mood.

He just plopped her on the bed and tossed the towel from his waist before covering her body with his. Gently, he placed his palm on her stomach and slid it underneath her black top, massaging the soft, turgid bosom that lie in wait. “We’re always on time for these undercover ops. I think it’s only fair that we take a little personal time before jetting off on another mission, don’t you?”

Steve kissed Natasha softly, his hand going behind her neck to rub the special sensitive spot that he knew was one of her e zones.

She moaned in response and flipped their positions, adjusting herself so that she was sitting on top of him. She tickled her fingers up and down his chest, damn near purring in excitement. “I can’t argue with that. There’s just something kinky about the two of us together like this, not looking as ourselves.”

“I think so, too. Maybe we should invest in roleplay.”

“Noted for future reference, but less talking, more loving.”

“Yes, ma'am.”

I love these two.❤️🇺🇸🕷
A pushback post dedicated to those who think the ‪‎Formation‬ lyrics don't match the video.

“Do you fools listen to or do you just skim through it.”
- Jay Z, “Renegade”

Let me start this by saying I’m not a Beyonce stan. I wouldn’t even classify myself as a fan. I’ve never owned any of her albums, including the Destiny’s Child ones (unless I claim my college roommate owning and constantly playing the No, No, No single back in the 90s). However, I do respect Beyonce as a black woman, as an artist, and someone who has a ridiculous work ethic. And she does have songs I like (my favorite being Flaws and All. The writing and feeling of that song is dope as hell) With that said, I see a lot of people confused by the lyrics of Beyonce’s new song “Formation.” While it’s funny to make memes about Red Lobster (the man looking in the mirror telling himself to “Get back in there and earn that Red Lobster” is my favorite), it’s important to note that the Red Lobster reference goes along with the theme of the song. I keep seeing people type how the lyrics don’t match the video. I don’t agree at all. This song is Black Girl Magic at it’s core. It’s Carefree Black Girl at it’s core. It’s being unapologetically Black. And being those things in this society is an act of rebellion. Let me go a bit further.

“Y'all haters corny with that illuminati mess
Paparazzi, catch my fly, and my cocky fresh”

She starts the song addressing all the YouTube comments about her being in the illuminati. Every time someone makes it big now, YouTube commenters can’t wait to find reasons to show how they’re in the illuminati. If you wink at the camera, that’s an eye over the pyramid reference and it means you’re in the illuminati. Hell, YouTube commenters have said that Kai is in the illuminati because she has viral videos on YouTube. It’s disrespectful. We’ve all watched Beyonce from the days she was working with Kelly, Latavia (I used to be in love with her… Hey boo! **insert winky emoji**), Letoya, and Wyclef. up to the present. She’s worked HARD and saying she got where she is because she’s in the some secret society is lazy thinking by lazy people who don’t have her work ethic. They haven’t made it where they want to be, so there has to be some secret society others belong to when they make it. She deads that shit from the start.

“I’m so reckless when I rock my Givenchy dress (stylin’)
I’m so possessive so I rock his Roc necklaces”

Again, carefreeness. “I’m reckless with what I want. AND I love and rep my man. Say something. I dare you!” Shoutout to the cocky black women who don’t give a damn what others think. Again, that’s an act of rebellion.

“My daddy Alabama,
Momma Louisiana
You mix that negro with that Creole make a Texas bamma
I like my baby hair, with baby hair and afros
I like my negro nose with Jackson Five nostrils
Earned all this money but they never take the country out me
I got a hot sauce in my bag, swag”

Do I really need to break this down? She’s letting you know what it is. Don’t get it twisted. THIS is WHO I am. Also, “don’t come for Blue’s hair or me or my man’s black features ANYMORE.”

(interlude by Messy May + Big Freedia)
"Oh yeah baby, oh yeah I, ohhhhh, oh yes I like that
I did not come to play with you hoes, haha
I came to slay, bitch I like cornbreads and collard greens, bitch
Oh yes, you besta believe it”

See above. Stays with the theme.

Then there’s a repeat of the first verse followed by the chorus. I could break down the chorus, but it’s pretty self explanatory.

“When he fuck me good I take his ass to Red Lobster, cause I slay
When he fuck me good I take his ass to Red Lobster, cause I slay
If he hit it right, I might take him on a flight on my chopper, cause I slay
Drop him off at the mall, let him buy some J’s, let him shop up, cause I slay
I might get your song played on the radio station, cause I slay
I might get your song played on the radio station, cause I slay
You just might be a black Bill Gates in the making, cause I slay
I just might be a black Bill Gates in the making”

So this seems to be where the confusion lies. “What does fucking her man, and Red Lobster have to do with this song?” Um, EVERYTHING. It fits the theme. She’s not talking about some random ass dude. She’s talking about her Black husband. And while Bey and Jay can afford to go to any restaurant on Earth, she says Red Lobster for a reason. For the same reason she mentioned keeping Hot Sauce in her bag (swag!). Red Lobster was the spot you took your boo when you thought you were being fancy back in the day. It’s such a “ghetto" idea nowadays, but back in the day you were hood/country ballin if you took bae to Red Lobster (call me ghetto, but I’m still hitting Red Lobster up for Endless Shrimp and Cheddar Biscuits. I am who I am damnit). It’s hood/country like carrying hot sauce in your purse. It’s also a power move in the sense that SHE’S taking bae out, not reverse. She has her own and if SHE’S pleased, SHE’S making that move.

She follows that theme up with a straight power move, but same concept. If SHE’S pleased she’s taking him on a chopper ride. If SHE’S pleased she’ll toss his ass a couple crumbs and tell him to go get some J’s. She could’ve easily said some fancy ass designer by she said J’s for a reason. It keeps true to hood/country wants/needs reminding us all of WHO she is.

Want more black girl magic/power? Well she has that too. I can get YOUR shit played on the radio if I choose (I feel bad here because she bout to get hella struggle Soundcloud links in her Twitter mentions). Why can she makes these things happen? Because she slays damnit. Black girl magic… Carefree black girl. The theme stays consistent.

Lastly, and this may be my favorite part of the song. She could’ve chosen any rich white billionaire to say here. Her and Jay are close to Warren Buffet so it makes sense to use him right? Nah! Bill Gates. Gates is famous for his philanthropy. So why she could just sit back and be a rich baddie with a powerful rich husband and adorable daughter, she’s saying that’s not enough. She’s about to start speaking. She’s putting her power into play for something more. The proof of that is in the video. The proof is having a dozen black women with afros and black berets, on the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Black Panther Party and only a few miles away from where they started, on stage at the Superbowl singing this song knowing backlash will come. The proof of that is the money they’ve reportedly used to fund BLM issues on the low low. The proof of that is this new world tour raising money for Flint. It reminds me of her husband’s reflection on his song “Minority Report” which was about the guilt he felt after not helping as much as he could after Katrina.

“Left them on they porches, same old story in New Orleans
Silly rappers, cause we got a couple Porsches
MTV stopped by to film our fortresses
We forget the unfortunate
Sure, I ponied up a mil’ but I didn’t give my time
So in reality I didn’t give a dime
Or a damn, I just put my monies in the hands
Of the same people that left my people stranded”

While there are clear BLM themes in the video (which I love), this song is about being Black Unapologetically. And she’s not waiting until she falls off and has less to lose to say and be this. She’s at the height of her career. She’s damn near on MJ icon level (before you start spazzing, I said DAMN NEAR). The timing of this is important. Years from now we’ll look back on this and realize how amazing that Superbowl moment was. People will talk about how much pride this gave them. Shoutout to Beyonce for this.

Finally, let us not forget the finals words of the song which lead me to believe this is just the beginning….

"Girl I hear some thunder
Golly this is that water boy, oh lord”

Mabel's Unusual Feelings- You have no idea how long it took to make this. Go on. Guess. Also, I wil dedicate one story of your choice to whoever draws apicture of Dipper's yearbook photo. I don't care if it't good or not. I just want some art with these stories and I don't have the technology for it myself.

Mabel hated this, watching Dipper with his new girlfriend. They’re always at their house now ever since Dipper worked up the courage to ask her out. That was at least a month ago and every day since then she’s had to hear about how wonderful Cherry is, how beautiful Cherry is, how smart Cherry is. It’s enough to drive her insane.

It wasn’t always like this. Mabel was actually proud of Dipper when he first told her he liked Cherry. After everything that happened with Wendy a few years ago, he seemed to finally be over her. She wouldn’t dare discourage that. In fact, she’s the one who encouraged him to ask her out. He wouldn’t have done it without her. Now she regrets it.

She doesn’t understand it, though. No matter how happy Dipper seems to be, Mabel can’t get away from the sickening feeling that it’s Cherry that makes him feel this way. What matters is that he’s happy, right? Or that’s what she used to think. Now she doesn’t know what to think anymore.

“What’s so great about Cherry anyway?” Mabel walks around the room, anger searing through every word she says. She had invited her best friend Kelly over for a night of talking about everything boys related, but somehow ended up bashing Cherry.

“Well, your brother seems to like her,” Kelly looks up from her magazine in time for Mabel to throw one of her millions of stuffed animals at her door.

“That’s not a good enough reason. Of course Dipper likes her. He thinks she’s Mrs. Perfect, but she’s not!” she continues to walk around. At first it was to keep her calm, but instead it only enraged her more.

“What do you have against Cherry, Mabel?”

That’s what’s so difficult. She doesn’t know what she has against Cherry. Before Dipper started dating her, she really liked Cherry, “I don’t know. It’s just… she came into Dipper’s life, all perfect, and now… I don’t know.”

She collapsed against her hot pink rocking chair in the corner of her room.

“Maybe you’re just jealous,” Kelly finally said after minutes of silence. Mabel’s heart went wild at the words. Jealous? What should she be jealous over? It’s Dipper they’re talking about. Not one of her crushes. That would be too weird. But what if…

“You haven’t had a real date since Dipper started dating Cherry. Maybe you’re just jealous of that. You want a boyfriend.”

Oh. That’s what she meant. Nevertheless, it’s still a crazy thought, “I could get a boyfriend. I just don’t like anyone right now.”

It felt like a lie.

“Why don’t you then?” Kelly jumped off of Mabel’s bed with a hyped up energy Mabel loves about her. Today it just felt exhausting, though, “We’ll look through last year’s yearbook and we’ll find you a super hot boyfriend, then you won’t care about Dipper’s personal life anymore.”

It kind of makes sense. She’d be too busy with whoever she’d be with too worry about Dipper’s business, “I guess that would work.”

“Yeah, it would!” Kelly quickly finds the yearbook in Mabel’s bookshelf, “All right, let’s find you a man.”

They lay on Mabel’s bed side-by-side. Kelly flips through the until she gets to their class.

“How about Davie Johnson?” Kelly looks hard at his photo, then turns toward Mabel with a bright smile on her mouth.

“I don’t think so. I think he’s dating Emma Nelson anyway,” Mabel flips to a different page.

“Steve Williams,” Kelly asks.

“No, he moved at the beginning of this year,” Mabel looks over the pages at every guy. None of them appealed to her. Not that there is anything wrong with any of them. She just didn’t care about being with any of them.

“How about Dean Peppers?” Kelly points to his picture, but the picture next to his is what Mabel looks to. It’s Dipper’s yearbook photo from last year. The one where somehow their mom had talked him into looking nice. He still had that suit he wore to their Aunt Carol’s wedding the year before and he decided to wear it. His hair was actually brushed. Something that still surprises her.

Mabel’s heart jumped and soared and skipped beats at the look Dipper had. He looked handsome. Not his everyday handsome that Mabel admits to, but a handsome that you see in any of her teen magazines.

Then, it hit her. Hit her hard. Feelings were developing in her that she has no control over. Feelings she doesn’t want. Feelings too terrifying to even admit to herself. Feelings for Dipper.

Uh-Oh.

“Yes!” she quickly shouts, “Him!”

“W-What? Dean? Really?” Kelly stares at the picture, “All right then. I guess all you have to do is ask him out.”

Mabel shook her head. Her dizzy, confused, full of scary thoughts head, “I think I can do that.”

She would have to.

After school the next day, Mabel found Dean sitting in the library alone, which is weird since he usually has his friends surrounding him. It’s better this way Mabel wouldn’t have to feel afraid to talk to him now.

She sighs heavily as she walks toward him. Each step brings a clearer image of him. He’s wearing a tight navy blue shirt that gives evidence of just how much he works out. His dark brown hair is pushed back with some kind of gel. As soon as she’s in front of him, she can smell some kind of cologne she isn’t familiar with. Dipper doesn’t wear that stuff.

Oh, no. Keep Dipper out of your mind. Not today. Not today!

“Hello, there,” she says louder than she hoped for. He looks up from his notebook to her. He immediately smiles, his baby blue eyes twinkling as bright as his eyes.

“Hey, Mabel,” he points to the seat in front of him, “Wanna sit?”

“Um, sure,” she slowly sits in the chair in front of him. She pulls her hair away from her back.

“So, did you do last night’s English homework?” he closes him notebook, eyes never leaving hers.

“Oh, man,” she lets out an uneasy laugh as her hand runs over her forehead, “I totally forgot. I had Kelly over and… okay, I have something to talk to you about.”

“All right,” he closes his hands together and puts them on the table, “Go ahead.”

She smiles brightly, but behind that smile is nausea that fills her immediately. It shouldn’t be this hard. She’s asked guys out. Plenty of times before. But can do it after what she figured out? No. It’s nothing. Of course she doesn’t think of Dipper that way. He’s her brother. Her bro, broseph for life. Couldn’t happen. Wouldn’t happen.

However, as soon as she looks back up to Dean, mouth open and ready ask her question, she sees Dipper walk into the library. With Cherry. Her heart quickly sinks at the sight. His arm around her waist, hers rubbing his neck as she giggles at whatever it is Dipper said before. Mabel’s eyes haze over and she can feel her entire body stiffen.

Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no.

She can’t think, she can’t breathe. All she can do is watch Dipper and Cherry in horror. They sat at the table in behind where she and Dean are at. So close to her, yet it felt so far away.

She had to go. She had to get out now.

She stands up too fast and the chair falls to the floor with a loud thump. Everyone around her, including Dipper and Cherry, soon look to her. Dipper smiles, she feels nervous. He gives her a small wave. His other arm loosens on Cherry. Tears are beginning to fill her eyes, she quietly prays she doesn’t cry here.

“I’m sorry, Dean. I-I… I have to go,” then she runs without looking back.

It’s been hours since she ran home. She stays locked up in her room away from everyone. Her phone is turned off, so she can avoid any calls or text she might get. She wants to be alone, she wants to sulk, she wants to try and forget about today. She knows that’s not going to happen because all she can think about is Dipper’s smile and his arm around cherry.

“Oh, God,” she buries her face into her pillow. More tears begin to form in her already red eyes. So much for her not having feelings for Dipper. It’s pretty obvious now that they go way past your normal sisterly love.

How did this happen, though? When did everything change? She doesn’t remember falling all over Dipper. It was never like that. Though, there were times when they were twelve. When Wendy came near, Dipper would go nuts and Mabel would sometimes feel tortured by this. She never paid any real attention to it. It was nothing. But apparently it was something. Something that she still isn’t ready to fully grasp yet.

Suddenly her door squeaks and light from the hallway shines into her dark room, “Mabel?”

She really isn’t ready for this, “Yeah, Dip?”

“You’ve been in here for a while,” her bed moves. She knows Dipper is sitting at her feet. She brings them to her chest to avoid all contact with him, “Are you okay?”

“Why wouldn’t I be?” her voice sounds too raspy. It might give away that she’s been crying. She can’t let Dipper know that.

“I don’t know. The last time I saw you, you were running away from Dean. Did something happen?”

Yeah, I realized my disgusting feelings for and got scared.

“No,” she lied. She felt bad for lying. Especially to Dipper, but he couldn’t know the truth. Definitely couldn’t know the truth.

“Are you sure?” his hand eased onto her back. Instead of pulling away, she took in the warmth. Her heart trembled at his touch. His gentle touch that gave her goose bumps.

“Y-Yes,” she said lovingly. That’s when she pulls away. Her eyes look into Dipper’s. He’s surprised by how quickly she moves away, “I’m fine.”

“That’s good,” his hands push into his pocket, “When you ran, I thought something happened with dean. Like he hurt you.”

“No, nothing like that,” she smirks. The light from hallway hits Dipper. She can see every inch of his face. His half-lidded eyes seem to be glued to her face. A smile grows over his lips. The hat he got from the Mystery Shack still fits his head perfectly. He looks indescribable. She stares, and stares, and stares, without a word being said. He stares back, and she can’t understand why he hasn’t looked away since he came in here. Her lips dry up, and she licks them. She notices Dipper’s eyes soon go to her lips. They stare there for a few seconds, then they’re back into her own eyes.

“Sooooooo,” she giggles nervously. Her hands find their way into her hair. She twists it, over and over, “How is Cherry doing?”

“Oh!” Dipper’s eyes widen at the mention of her name, “She’s with her friends tonight, so I thought I’d watch the marathon of Duck-tective.”

“Oh,” she felt relieved. After everything today, it would be nice not to have to see Cherry and Dipper all cozy on the couch.

“Do you maybe… want to, you know…watch with me?”

She smiles, brighter than ever has before. His own smile grows bigger at the sight of her, Of course! Duck-tective is my favorite show ever.”

“Of course I knew that.”

“All right, Mabel,” Dipper walks into the kitchen. Mabel looks up from her bowl of cereal to see him. He’s blushing and obviously shaking, “I have a problem and I need your help with it.”

“Okay, spill. What is it?” her hands intertwine. She grins to Dipper who smiles back for a second, then has a serious look on his face.

“Well, it’s about Cherry,” he freezes. He rubs his hand over his mouth, eyes avoiding hers.

It had been a few days since Mabel embarrassed herself in front of Dean, and everyone in the library. Dipper had spent more time with Mabel than he had Cherry, which is definitely unusual. Mabel wouldn’t have complained about it, though. It was amazing not having to be near Cherry so much.

“Go on,” Mabel is less enthusiastic about this problem now that she knows what it’s about. Things finally started getting easier for her. She has come to terms with the unusual feelings she has for Dipper. She has also come to terms with the fact that it would never ever happen. Not unless some supernatural miracle happen.

“All right,” he forces his hands down on the table and looks away from Mabel, “I… she… okay… I think she might want me to kiss her!”

Mabel clenches. Not from pain or torment, but from the fact that Dipper looks too nervous about this.

“What?” she forces back her laughter, “You haven’t kissed yet? You guys have been dating for wha-”

“A month. I know,” he interrupts her. She can’t help, but o let some laughter slip past her lips. She kissed boys days after she started dating them and Dipper, sweet innocent Dipper, hasn’t even kissed his girlfriend of a month. It is his first girlfriend, though. He seems nervous about it. the only person he’s ever kissed was Mermando and it was obvious he didn’t want to count that.

Mabel smiled. It took a second, but it hit her. Dipper hasn’t kissed Cherry yet. So, all those times when Dipper went out with Cherry, all of her paranoid thoughts were absolutely nothing. She felt relieved.

“What do you want me to do about it?” she asks. Her hands rest on her palms as she watches Dipper frantically pulling at his sleeve. He is too adorable.

“I want you to help me. You’ve kissed guys before, right?” his face reddens even more at the words. So does hers.

“Yeah,” she whispers.

“Then, teach me. How do I kiss? Where do my hands go? Do I keep my eyes closed? And what exactly is French kissing?”

Mabel pulls out of her chair, “All right. Calm yourself, child. You’re in good hands now. Mabel will help you.”

She stands in front of Dipper, arms crossed over her chest. Her eyes wander over Dipper’s face. His lips hang open while his wide eyes watch her every move.

“First thing you need to know. Your hands go on her hips.”

“But what if-”

“Hips,” she pointed at him, a serious look took over her face, “Second, French kissing, dear brother, is not something you should be doing this soon. You would probably scare her away if you did that.”

The idea didn’t seem that bed, though. She quickly pushed that thought out of her mind.

“Third, kissing. It’s not as hard as you might think it is. Think of CPR, but instead of pulling away, you just stay there and continue for a while. It’s…” she looks up to see Dipper’s eyes, his amazing eyes. A brown color that she hasn’t seen anywhere else. His unique eyes that match his even more unique personality. She’s hypnotized and she doesn’t know how to pull away from the trance Dipper has set her in.

“Mabel?” Dipper whispers. Is he pulling to her or is she getting closer to him? She can’t tell. The only thing that’s important is that Dipper’s here in front of her.

“Yeah,” she gasps. Her hand touches his. Neither of them pulls away.

“Show me,” his voice is soft. His breathe hits her lips. She loses control of her mind and body.

“Okay,” then the space between them disappears. Her desperate lips run wildly over his, her hands pulling and tugging at the front of his shirt. She pushes him against the table.

This is actually happening. She’s kissing him. She’s kissing Dipper. Oh, man. She’s kissing Dipper. Wait… she’s kissing Dipper?

She pulls away. As soon as she does, Dipper moves forward slightly. His lips hang open, his eyes gradually open.

“Oh, God,” she whispers. She backs out of the kitchen. Dipper’s eyes widen as she does, “Oh, God.”

For the second time, she runs away from him.

The following morning, the lights shine through Mabel’s rainbow colored curtains. Her tired eyes watch as it does. She didn’t sleep, she couldn’t sleep. Who could after kissing your brother? The memory keeps running through her mind. She kissed Dipper. Dipper. And, she swears, he kissed her back. That can’t be. Dipper would never. He has a girlfriend. A girlfriend he came to Mabel for advice on how to kiss. Who knows, he could be out kissing her right now. The thought is too difficult on Mabel.

She sits up in her bed. She didn’t even bother changing her clothes. After she ran, she just fell to her bed and didn’t move. Not even for a moment. Her body, along with her mind, felt weak. Maybe she should walk around her room.

A sudden knock came from outside of her door. Should she answer it? What if it’s Dipper? Could she deal with seeing him right now? And if it is him, what would he want?

She feels her feet walking over to the door. Her fingertips linger at the doorknob for a few seconds until another knock comes.

“Hi,” she says. Dipper looks to the ground. He kicks at the carpet in front of her door.

“I broke up with Cherry,” he quickly says. Mabel’s eyes snap up to see his.

“What? Why?” as if she didn’t know.

“I-I…” he sighs deeply, “Same reason you kissed me yesterday.”

“I don’t know what that is,” she whispers. She moves away from him to sit on the edge of her bed.

“I think you do,” Dipper closes her door, and Mabel loses her breathe again. She watches as he sits in her chair. He brings it closer to her bed so that he’s directly in front of her, “There’s a reason, we both know it, but I want to hear you say it.”

“No, Dipper, you really don’t,” she doesn’t know why, but she giggles gently at the end of the sentence.

“Nothing is as bad as what I have to tell you. Now go.”

“Wait, what do you have to say that’s so important?” it wouldn’t compare to the horrible things he wants her to reveal.

“You first,” he says with a smirk.

“You first,” Mabel repeats.

“No, you first.”

“No, you first.”

“You.”

“You.”

“You.”

Fine. I like you, okay?” her voice echoes through the room. She breathes heavily. That mixed with her rapid heartbeat is the only noise in the room. She can’t find the courage to look at her, so she keeps her eyes on the floor. This is bad. Too bad. She promised herself that no matter what happened, she would never say that out loud. That obviously failed.

“I thought so,” Dipper pushes out of the chair and moves to Mabel. Suddenly his lips are taking hers. Her eyes widen. The touch overwhelms her. His hands runs through her hair.

“I like you, too. In case you didn’t know,” he says against her lips. Chills run all over her body.

“Since?” she whispers. The feelings she is feeling, she can’t describe them. It’s as though excitement and fear mixed together and filled her until there was nowhere left to go.

Does it matter?” he pulls away enough to look into Mabel’s eyes, “It just happened.”

“Oh.”

“But yesterday when you kissed me, it just all became real. It’s you. It’s always been you. Cherry, she was so stubborn. She judged everything I did. I couldn’t handle it anymore. I was just too afraid of feeling what I was feeling for you to do anything about it.”

Dipper was afraid. The same way she was afraid of her feelings. Who would’ve known?

“It’s kind of funny,” she gives him a smirk, “that we both felt the same way and neither of us knew.”

“Yeah,” he laughs gingerly, “it is.”

They both smile at each other. Mabel, with every ounce of courage she has left, wraps her arms tightly around Dipper’s neck, “Now kiss me.”

Dipper’s lips are soft yet rough all at once. It isn’t like the other kisses where she worried what this all meant. She now knows what Dipper feels, and she knows what she feels, and she’ll never get over the fact that they’ll have this amazing feeling together.
