I’m currently watching the 80s Voltron and I physically can’t deal.
Keith: “Vultures may not be very attractive, but they gave us a hand, and we should be grateful.”
Sven: “I’ll always think they’re beautiful.”
so on the subject of stolen property, i’ve seen various arguments on this point but it is in fact true that inheriting something from a relative, when you know full well that it was stolen, does not make it yours.
this clearly goes doubly so for powerful magical artifacts, and especially for artifacts which are strongly implied to contain part of their creator’s soul!
you can talk about consequences - maybe the artifact in question has benefits for you, maybe you’re not convinced its rightful owners would use it responsibly - but talking about the consequences doesn’t erase the fact that whatever benefits you think you’re getting are achieved through wrongful means.
which is why i, too, think Frodo should have given the One Ring back to Sauron. thief.
ONE MORE because people think they’re so smug when they point this out but whenever I see someone going like ooomg ur style hasn’t changed in x months/years!! I laugh bc yeah congrats on noticing, I like drawing in this style so generally speaking it will improve but look the “”same”” to you, I don’t feel the need to be inconsistent and jump styles all the time lmao
(not to mention whenever people say this stuff they usually expect artists to “step up” and draw everything in a realistic/more detailed style which is not something I’m usually into and really disrespectful to cartoon artists)
what I’ve /actually/ been trying to change/get better at is anatomy, the general movement and flow, and I know it’s been getting better
so I don’t need you to tell me what /you/ think I should be changing, I CAN draw in other styles, I simply use this one because it’s what makes me happy
In the first episode the paladins went through a wormhole, even though allura was still asleep which means that either blue created it or one of the paladins. If the lions could create wormholes don't you think that the team would use it? (1/2)
It’s known that creating wormholes tires allura, they would use the lions if the lions were able to do so. Which means IT WAS SOMEONE INSIDE BLUE which mean one of the paladins can do ‘magic’ like allura,it may be Keith but we never saw a galra (2/3)
Saw a galra use powers like that. We know coran cant do it either which can mean that it’s only altean royalty who have those kind of powers. Conclusion: ALTEAN ROYALTY! PALADIN could be a thing!!! (I put my money on Lance) (3/3)
see, i think the altean paladin (typically Shiro or Lance)theory is really interesting, i think the reason the Blue lion was able to make a wormhole jump was because there was enough leftover altean energy stored in her system to make one.
it’s happened before on the show
so maybe, if its true, it’s very possible that an altean piloted the Blue lion… which means that… there could actually be altean (maybe even royal) decedents on Earth after all ;)
(the show also chose to inform us that Alteans are shapeshifters and adjust their appearance to blend in with the local population, so i wouldn’t be surprised if one of the paladins did actually turn out to have Altean DNA in them)
*deeply inhales* OMG I love your art so much, I'm just in love with it. I'm not very new here, but I don't know why I'm waiting so long to show how much I like your art. I kinda want to draw on the computer and stuff, but I have no idea what art tools I should get? What program should I use to draw? Which tablet do I choose? Are you gonna do more Undertale art dumps? How does one draw characters like you do? Sorry if this is a lot of questions, but I'm just so ... (/◕ヮ◕)/ happy
I definitely recommend saving up for a drawing tablet, I use a Wacom tablet, the one I’m using is a bit expensive but I’m sure any of their tablets are good, they have a few different names.
As for drawing programs, I use photoshop, it’s also a bit costly but if you can spare the money it can really be a nice software to use. There’s also a free one called Gimp but I don’t use it so I don’t know how good it is.
drawing characters? I used the sprites and some of my favourite fan arts for reference so I could develop my own look for them and then proceed to draw them a million times. As you can see, style can change quite a bit.
first ever drawing of Sans and Frisk I did last February
Hi there! Wanted to let you know I adore your work and that you've actually made me love Humanformers, which I hadn't even liked before stumbling upon your gorgeous blog. Also, I have a question: would you mind if I used one of your drawings as my phone's wallpaper? Pretty please! Also, I'd love it if you could draw Racer Dads taking care of a hurt Raf or KOBB after a falling out making up? Dunno why so dark and I guess you may not like the idea, so it's cool if you don't wanna. Love you!
Wow thank you that’s really awesome. I’m touched to hear i’ve had that type of an impact, thank you! And yes of course you can use, i’ve got nothing against that. Just really amazing to hear you like some pic that much, thanks. And sure i can do that but i’ll add a personal little lighter tone if that’s ok
(1/2) I AM muslim, and have just seen the post where a non-muslim user complained about the way a character's hair was falling out of the hijab. There are MANY ways Muslim women cover their hair, some don't even wear a hair covering. There is no covenant in the Quran that specifically requires a woman to cover up, which is why no-one in my family does. Please this tweet from a muslim scholar on Twitter: twitter[.]com/MuslimIQ/status/846479319350345732
(2/2) Please use your own judgement in respect of your work and don’t be cowed by those who don’t know what they are talking about. Peace and blessings be upon you. x
Thanks for this message and the link! The thread was very insightful. a lot of Muslims have actually reassured me about this. i know about the freedom women have in regards with their covering (read about it a little before but never dug too deep into it so i wasnt very confident about my knowledge). i decided to reserve my judgement for the edit a little while since my primary concern now is whether or not the books specifically stated sam’s preference. But Im very grateful for the info! thanks again.
hey, my name is ana, im from colombia, (i'm actually not sure why i'm writing this in english) anyway, i've been wanting to learn korean for a while now, i learned hangul but the thing is that i don't know where to continue or what resources i can use, since it's really hard to find something korean related here; so i just wanted to ask you how you started learning and how do you manage your study time. I hope i didn't bother you ^^
Hola Ana!! :D Learning hangul is the first step, asi que comenzaste bien! c:
What I did: learn hangul, build some vocab with memrise, and then not improve at all for months because I had so many resources that I didn’t know which one to pick. I did check a few lessons of TTMIK and I used the textbook My Korean 1 (made by an Australian University, I think), but to be honest I didnt improve as much as I could have. Now I know the two reasons why: 1. TOO MANY RESOURCES: I was accumulating resources, books, sites, EVERYTHING, but didnt actually pick one to use. 2. Lack of discipline: I didn’t make time to actually study.
Know that I’m more experienced I highly recommend yall to not repeat my mistakes lmao. PICK ONE TEXTBOOK OR WEBSITE AND STICK TO IT. Don’t worry about missing out extra information or whatever. Only look for another explanation if the first one you used wasnt clear enough and you really couldnt understand, but AFTER TRYING; annotate, practice, review, and if it is still unclear then switch to another (reliable) resource. I’m NOT saying that every explanation is going to be accurate and should be trusted, but if it isn’t correct you will probably realize it after you become more comfortable with the language.
Everyone praises TTMIK and they deserve it, they have awesome lessons. My advice is that you find their curriculum (on their page) and start. But remember: DONT STOP. You dont know what to do? Go to the next lesson. As simple as that. Listen to the audios, repeat what they say, read aloud, make flashcards with the vocab and say “I will learn ALL THIS WORDS by the end of the week”, make your own sentences to practice vocab and grammar points, KEEP GOING. You can even skip some lessons (advanced learners are gonna kill me for saying this tho). Dont stress over “but what im a gonna do after i finish all their lessons?!?” You’ll cross that bridge when you get there.
that I recommend
for grammar is using the book Korean Grammar In Use (Beginner). It has a lot of grammar points with simple explanations, sample sentences, conjugations and exercises. You can pair it with the TTMIK lessons if you are a little worried about not getting enough practice.
For vocab I suggest the list of ‘Most common verbs/adjectives/nouns’, and I think some people have already created them on Memrise/Quizlet/Anki (I personally prefer quizlet).
I try to study at least 5 minutes a day. I’ll make a full post soon about how I’ve been managing my time these past few months, but this is what I try to do every week:
Grammar: it can take just 30 minutes to make notes for a grammar point. How many G.P. you do is up to how much time you have. I’m doing 3-5 per week (intensively selfstudying) but I think even one per week is fine!
Vocab: make a list at the start of each week (or month) and review every moment you can: before sleeping, while eating, on the bus. It shouldnt take you too much time either: 30 minutes for the list and 5 minute breaks for reviewing. Make goals: Ill memorize this list by the end of the week, Ill review 5 days of the week, Ill review 4 times each day. Be honest with yourself, but try to step out of your comfort zone.
Listening comprehension: listen to audios of the lessons, listen without reading the transcript and try to pick up words, listen to kpop too and other media like dramas or youtube videos. Doesnt take much time either and its fun to do.
Some kind of pronunciation practice: imitating the audios and reading aloud. If you have a native friend or anyone who knows/is learning korean, talk with them.
Some kind of writing practice like journaling your day, solving workbook exercises or making sentences with what you learn. Time varies with this. My journal entries take me 5-15 minutes (they are very short but sometimes I have to look up words that I dont know/remember)
Reading practice: write the dialogues from the lessons that you study and read them! they probably combine the grammar and vocab you are studying. Also write the sample sentences that they use. Read kpop lyrics and webtoons.
Hope this helps a little bit c: I’ll probably make more posts about this with more information. Lo mas importante es comenzar y seguir! No te bloquees. Si ves algo, aprendelo; no lo guardes para despues.
I kinda see why we can't be a part of lgbt+... I mean if you're an het ace you kinda are straight... I kinda understand too that why we should be a part of lgbt because of some struggles some of us have... I don't know I just want this discourse to stop ;-;
Heteroromantic aces aren’t straight, though. They may not always suffer the explicit oppression of attraction to their same gender, but that is far from the only criterion one must meet to be accepted by Straightness and have unconditional access to its privileges. Failure to demonstrate and act upon normative levels of attraction to a binary opposite gender is sufficient in itself to cause exclusion from Straightness, which defines itself and maintains its hegemony with exhaustive lists of requirements. There is ample evidence of Straight people forcibly and violently excluding aces, and to erase that is exactly the problem.
Asexuality is non-straight in itself, and asexuality is a significant and meaningful part of people’s identity. We cannot find acceptance, support, or the resources we need if we continue to cling to the heteronormative erasure that relegates us to our romantic orientations or discounts the role our asexuality plays in our understanding of ourselves, our experiences, and our relation to society.
It feels a bit silly to come to your inbox since we're actually chatting but you're good and you're indulging me in this, so. I'd like to have a comparison between songs harry wrote, like a timeline of his writing characteristics, something that shows how he's grown in term of songwriting, and maybe a little flash forward to his solo album? I know you've already made posts about SG, IICW and WITW, but maybe you could sum them all up and starting from the origins? And including Don't let me go?
Thank you for this ask, Julie!
I looked through the list of songs available to the public for which Harry shares writing credit.

Hiya senpai! Uh I really liked how one of your Peridot drawings looked so I came here to ask you (if u don't mind) what brush did you use? It looks like it's painted with a real brush! Is that texture? It's okay if you don't want to tell me.
hey!!! i wasnt sure which peridot drawing u were refering to, unless u meant the most recent one which is this?
if so, this is the brush i used. (btw change the ‘’color blending’’ ALOT depending on how much i want 2 blend the colours)
pls let me know if u meant another piece! i use this brush for when i want to do my ‘’painting style’’ :p
hey! your animations are AWESOME! I had a question if you don't mind answering! ^w^ what animation program do you recommend to beginners? are there any free ones to start out with? [i can't seem to find anything so I thought, why not ask you ;w;]
Thank you ^^!
hmm i know of a few which are also free, but i guess you should try them out and see which one works best for you :)!
There would be Krita 3.0, Pencil 2D, OpenToonz(which is … hard to use <<;;; but free) and maybe try the Toon Boom or Clip Studio Paint trial.
Though for every program you should get around looking for tutorials haha, some are rather easy if you have a quick technical understanding of things. But to fully use each, you wont come around the fact of researching :)!
