Secret Love Song - Harry Styles Mini Series (Part 24)
Harry was pacing around the waiting room of the hospital as he waited for the doctors to come and talk to him. As soon as you two arrived at the hospital, they took you back quickly and Harry was asked to stay back. He had texted Jeff and some of the others to let them know where he was and they quickly showed up to be with him.
“Harry, what’s going on? What happened?” Lou asked rushing in.
“I-I don’t know,” he said. “We were asleep and she woke up crying and…. I don’t know.”
“I’m sure she’ll be fine,” Lou whispered wrapping her arms around him.
He sniffled into her neck as he hugged her before sitting down in a chair. His legs were bouncing up as they shook. He brought his hand to his mouth as he sat there waiting and waiting. A man dressed in scrubs walked into the room and Harry immediately perked up.
“Are you the family of Y/N?” He asked.
“I’m her boyfriend,” Harry nodded.
“Can we speak privately?” he asked.
Harry got up from his chair and walked into a separate room with the doctor.
“How’s Y/N? Is she okay? Can I see her?” Harry asked quickly.
“One thing at a time son,” he said. “Right now Y/N is fine, she’s still experiencing some pain, so we’ve given her some medicine to help ease it. We’re running tests to see exactly what is causing it. I’ve narrowed it down to three possible causes, but nothing will be confirmed until after testing.”
“W-What are the three causes?” Harry asked.
“Are you sure you want to know?” He asked. “I don’t want to get you worried about something it might not even be?”
“Doctor… I’m losing my shit right now not knowing… just tell me something please,” he pleaded.
“Like I said I still don’t know for sure yet, but the symptoms she’s experiencing are similar to those of three different causes,” the doctor started off. “The first is she could possibly be experiencing endometriosis, which is extremely painful, but very treatable. Do you know if she’s been diagnosed with this in the past?”
“No… I don’t… she’s never said anything and in the few months we’ve been together… nothing like this has ever happened,” he said. “At least when she’s been with me.”
“Well, usually if a woman has it, she’ll start showing other symptoms beforehand, but every case and woman is different,” he said.
“Okay, so if it’s not that… what are the other options?” Harry asked.
“Another cause could be a cyst developed on her ovary and ruptured,” he said. “Those can be very painful, but the pain will subside after a while and everything will go back to normal within a few days.”
“And the third?” Harry asked.
The doctor sighed looking down.
“Is it that bad?” Harry teared up.
“When Y/N arrived, there was some blood present in her lower region… and between the blood and the pain. There’s a possibility she suffered a miscarriage,” he said.
“She was pregnant?” Harry whispered.
“We don’t know for sure,” the doctor said. “Like I said, we’re running tests now and we’ll find out soon.”
Harry spaced out as he nodded. “Have you told… Have you told Y/N yet?”
“No, I advised my team not to say anything to her until we’re 100% sure as to what happened,” he said.
A single tear fell down his cheek and the doctor put his hand on his shoulder. “Are you okay, son?”
“As long as Y/N’s okay… I’ll be fine,” he whispered. “Just please, make sure she’s okay.”
“We’ll take excellent care of her,” he said squeezing his shoulder before walking out of the room.
Harry ran his hands over his face and composed himself before walking back out to the waiting room.
“How’s Y/N? What did the doctor say?” Jeff asked.
“Um.. they’re running tests right now to pinpoint exactly what’s wrong, but she’s doing okay right now,” he whispered.
Lou looked at Harry and knew he was hiding something. She got up from her chair and walked over to him.
“Let’s go get coffee, yeah?” She said.
He doesn’t respond, but follows her down the hall anyway. Lou put some change into the machine and grabbed the cup before handing it to Harry.
“Want to tell me exactly what the doctor said?” She asked. “I can see that you’re really upset about something.”
Harry sighed leaning against the wall. “He told me there were a few things that he thinks are wrong with her, but he won’t know exactly which one it is until he runs the tests,” he said.
“And I take it, one of them or all of them are bad?” She whispered.
“He said she could have had a miscarriage,” he whispered, his voice breaking.
“Oh my god,” She gasped putting her hand over her mouth.
“We didn’t… I didn’t even know she was pregnant. I mean we still don’t know for sure, but what if she was Lou?” He sniffled. “What if she was pregnant and she lost the baby? How do we handle that? How does she handle that?”
“Hey, let’s not worry about that yet,” she said. “Like you said none of us know for sure if that’s even what happened. Don’t get yourself worked up over something that may not even be a reality.”
“I know, I know, but just knowing that he could be a reality… fucking sucks,” he said. “But it shouldn’t really matter, right? It’s not like we knew she was pregnant and I sure as hell am not ready for a kid right now, but why does it still fucking hurt knowing it could have been the reason she’s in the hospital right now?”
Lou sighed taking him into a hug again. “Because right now you’re scared that the miscarriage is the reason for it and if it’s confirmed you’ll be feeling a loss. Even if you’re not ready and didn’t know… it’s still something that could have turned into something great, but again, let’s try and not think about it and wait till we have confirmation.”
“It’s just so fucking hard,” he sniffled. “The other two options weren’t even that bad, but yet I keep thinking it’s the worse of the three.”
“Because unfortunately, that’s how our minds work,” she said. “Why don’t we head back to the waiting room and see if there’s any news.”
“Hey, Lou,” he said.
“Yeah?” She asked.
“I don’t want anyone else to know about this until after we know for sure and even then I’ll be talking to Y/N to see how she feels about telling everyone,” he said.
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone because it’s not my information to tell,” she smiled a bit.
Harry wasn’t able to see you until the sun starting to rise. It had been almost four hours since he last saw you. When he reached the room you were in, you were hooked up to a few machines. You looked extremely pale and exhausted. He quickly closed the distance between you and him and took your hands in his.
“Harry,” you whispered looking at him.
“I’m right here, baby,” he whispered running his hand through your hair. “How are you feeling?”
“Like I want a shower and to sleep for days,” you laughed.
“Well, as soon as you’re able to bust out of here, that’s what you’ll be doing,” he smiled. “Do you have any pain?”
You shook your head. “I just feel a bit sore.”
“Have they told you the test results yet?” he asked.
“No,” you said.
He nodded rubbing your arm.
“Do you think you can make yourself fit in this bed?” you giggled. “I want to cuddle with you.”
“My legs might be falling off it, but I’ll make it work for you,” he laughed.
He slowly and gently made his way to the other side of the bed before laying next to you and wrapping his arms around you.
“As this ever happened to you before?” He asked.
“No, not like that,” you said.
“What did it feel like?” He asked kissing your head.
“Like really bad period cramps,” you said.
“Well, I don’t exactly know how those feel, but I’m sure it’s not pleasant,” he said.
“Not at all,” you said laying your head on his shoulder.
There was a knock on the door and you both looked up as the doctor Harry had spoken to a few hours ago poked his head in.
“Is it okay if I come in?” He asked.
“Yes, of course,” you said.
He smiled and shut the door behind him as he made his way over to the bed.
“How are you feeling Y/N?” He asked.
“Better than before, but still not 100%,” you said.
“That’s completely normal,” he said. “While you were experiencing the pain, your body was tensing up, which can take a lot out of you and cause soreness.”
“Do you have the results of the test?” Harry asked.
“I do, and I have them right here,” the doctor said.
You felt Harry tense up and you looked over at him confused before looking at the doctor.
The doctor opened up the file in his hand and adjusted his glasses. “The tests have concluded…”
