anonymous asked:

This is a sort of silly message, and a late one, but I wanted to say I appreciated a lot your answer about disliking Sauron/Morgoth because of negative characterization associations. This has nothing to do with that particular pairing, but I sometimes feel silly about really disliking certain headcanons or pairings simply because they put me in mind of fic or discourse I hate, but it's something really hard to get out of my head so I guess I'm glad I'm not alone.

Yeah, I get you anon, it feels annoying to find yourself being put off things for reasons that really have nothing to do with canon? But it’s hard to avoid, especially when the canon’s so open to interpretation - I have like 500% more feelings about some characters because other people were doing such cool things with them, so, like the inevitable inverse of that, I suppose.

…I have yet to feel as if fandom discourse has actually spoiled my enjoyment of anything important to me, but then spite is great motivation for making fanfic happen >_>

Dear RPers who have wanted to interact.

I feel like i need to address this because i find it’s an issue many people, especially newcomers, have in RP.

PLEASE. DO. NOT. BE. SHY. TO. SAY. HI.

There’s no reason to be anxious or hesitant if you want to talk to me. I will happily accept a random starter, or a random tag, or an inbox message! Even if we’ve never interacted or even acknowledged one another, i will still HAPPILY interact with you!

You’re not bothering me. You’re not annoying. You’re not making me uncomfortable. I LIKE to interact with new people, it’s very exciting and fun!

Please, PLEASE, don’t be hesitant when sending in ANYTHING. I’m having a lot more fun than your anxiety tells you!

So here’s the thing, on this blog i make lighthearted posts about being a lesbian who likes swords, like “put [this sword] on your blog if you are gay”

And most of the time interactions with this blog are just people finding my posts fun or relatable having a chortle and tagging themselves, their friends, or sometimes theorising which fictional character runs this blog. it’s just some good fun that i and many others enjoy

But very regularly i get straight people saying ‘but what about straight people’ like. all the time. its very annoying.

cause guess what! im not straight! i dont care. go write your own posts, im not writing Relatable Posts for straight people thats not my job why would i do that

however every time im like ‘i dont care about straight people on my gay blog or in my gay life at all actually’ i get inundated with replies about how Mean And Evil i am because im not making jokes for their consumption

In which case i am just a mean evil gay because im not going to start catering to straight people on my gay blog about being gay and liking swords ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

okay like I have a really difficult time understanding why people find Chaol’s character to be interesting /at all/. I find him to be so annoying because he’s like that moderate liberal white boy who thinks women should be allowed to have abortions but also wants a wife who stays home in the kitchen. Where she belongs. He’s like, a total Dean from Gilmore Girls. He’s /so/ convinced that he’s a nice guy who knows what the right thing to do is all the time.

Like even in Tog and CoM he’s that textbook guard character who is bound by some unrealistic sense of honor and duty and thinks he understands the ins and outs of morality. But of course that honor doesn’t allow for things driven by emotion. That honor doesn’t allow for survival unless it plays by his rules. That honor doesn’t allow for power in the hands of women. And that honor doesn’t allow for killing those who have wronged you. Chaol is like…the least likely character to succeed in a zombie apocalypse. He holds everyone to some moral code, and damns them when they don’t live up to it (he does this with Celaena in CoM and basically all of QoS). Inflexible morality and honor inevitably leads to problems because it doesn’t allow for understanding of emotional conflicts, nor does it allow for forgiveness when those emotions drive people to do bad things. Chaol damns Celaena for killing Nehemia’s murderers. Rowan just accepts it and is like “good.” Chaol thinks Aelin’s power makes her a monster. He thinks less of her because she is fae. Rowan is like “okay you’re fae. whatever. show me what you’ve got.” Rowan is infinitely more interesting than Chaol, as a love interest, and a man, because where Chaol’s sense of honor is based on some hard lined Moral Code™, Rowan’s sense of honor is based on protecting those close to him. Once he claims Aelin, its clear that his moral compass now has one direction: protect and help and love and serve Aelin Galathynius to the best of my abilities, and the rest of the world be damned. Chaol’s love for Aelin is bound by his inability to reconcile her past as an assassin and her fae heritage with his immovable and someone flawed moral code.

In the end, it becomes clear that Chaol is just pissed that Aelin is so much more than he is. Greater than anything he will ever be. Rather than supporting her and attempting to help her, he pushes her away, damning her for not fitting into his carefully crafted view of the way humans are supposed to act.

Maybe some ppl like Chaol and his sense of honor, but I’ve read enough books on medieval chivalry to know that that bullshit ain’t for me.

Autistic People Accommodate Non-Autistic People ALL THE TIME

I was journalling and talking about my usual frustrations with how I can’t just be blunt, and how I have carefully construct my sentences so that the non-autistic person I’m talking to doesn’t misunderstand me and become offended. Or consider me rude, malicious, etc.
I’ve also recently been having some issues with getting sensory accommodation. And people finding my stims annoying.

And I was finally able to put my frustrations into words: I’m constantly having to accommodate non-autistic people, but they can’t be bothered to accommodate me.

Because here’s the thing: autistics and non-autistics are like two computer systems that are mostly incompatible, but can work together with a little effort. But the burden of getting us to a compatible level is placed solely on the autistics’ shoulders. Any amount that the non-autistic person has to do is too much.

We aren’t asking you to go out of your way for us, we’re asking you to meet us in the middle so that we don’t have to go so far out of our way for you.
Because it’s fucking exhausting.

Be honest with me.

I’ve noticed many people find annoying the voice effects for the characters on Underverse. Even many of them (including some “serious” youtubers) Make fun of this and I’m really thinking many people see my animations as a joke…sooo…before I start to think about silly things, I just want to know your opinion about this.

What should I do?
At first I thought making a simply voice acting based on WarioLand Shake it videogame (https://youtu.be/nw0P0PA2n-Q), but Glitchtale has this style too, and don’t want to deal with critisism about that I copied Camila Cuevas, or deal with voice actors…

Maybe…instead adding that “annoying sound” for every word the Character is saying, I just can add a simply sound effect for the text box like some videogames…

…Hmm…

I don’t really know what to do…

I want people can enjoy the animation and try to fix this before Underverse 0.3

So, I want to know your thoughts about this, and if you have any advice, you can write me a private message on my main Tumblr blog (jakei95).

I’d be so glad with your feedback!

Maybe I find weirdness in everything now but the ig thing was hours ago. It's not even 6am rn in London and she decides to engage fans again? And of course it's another larrie? Idk I just don't get it. And all of this the day his brother announces a single. Feels like they are pushing a non Larry message on this day... I just don't see the point of her engaging the fans once again, putting more attention on the subject again, hours after happening. I don't get it

It’s kinda funny timing, but who knows what anything means. Gemma goes off on Larries at least once a year, so I’m not surprised by this at all. I just find it funny because while I’m the first to tell you that some Twitter and Instagram Larries are annoying as fuck, Larries as a general group (which includes a lot of people who don’t do the really annoying stuff) are also the ones who tend to get the most accomplished in this fandom - we tend to be leading projects for the boys, we tend to be leading charity efforts for the boys, and so on. So I always find it quite entertaining that we’re continually trashed as an entire group in really rude and abelist ways every time somebody decides to be a dick on social media.

I’m a little annoyed

I posted a drawing of Robin and Jack from the drawing meme I did yesterday on twitter and as soon as Robin and Jack replied to my work, the majority of people were commenting about septiplier when the drawing had nothing to do with that ship.

I’m annoyed in how out of hand this ship is, how people fight over how actual REAL people “should” be together as if they are fictional characters, I’m annoyed in how I will find these comments on any Mark or Jack related artworks I create when it has nothing to do with this ship.  It really takes the fun out of it which is why there has been a heck lot less of me drawing these guys.  And if they read this, I don’t want them to feel like they have to stop commenting on said works so that I don’t have to deal with it cause thats not gonna solve anything (and plus you’re lovely people <3).

I’m just annoyed that people don’t think before they speak, that there is no filter in how annoying it must be to receive a shit ton of the same comments and be excessively annoying about something that will not happen.  I just don’t understand, no matter what age you are there’s just no excuse imo cause I was never like that growing up and talking to people.

I’m not speaking on anyone’s behalf but mine, I’m just annoyed that this has been happening to my work as of late.

This has been a psa. thank you for reading, and hope everyone is having a good day.

Would you mind telling us why you think louis might make the most money on the long run?

First and foremost, he’s got a keen mind for the music industry.  Just listening to him talk about the reasons he chose to work with Steve and do JHO.  He saw something missing and decided to fill that hole.  He understands what sells and most importantly WHY.  He’s also an incredibly prolific songwriter which is where a lot of artists make their money.  He could easily write and sell for other people along with writing for himself to perform.  Then there’s the label aspect.  While triple strings and the girl band may be shady af, I do think it IS something he’s legitimately interested in pursuing.  and since again, he’s got that keen mind for the industry and understands it so well, he’d know how to find and develop acts that would sell really well.  Then of course, while it’s really annoying, he’s still making that money doing all his promo/endorsement deals.

So many artists are just that- artists.  Then there are so many people in industry just understand the BUSINESS side of things and become famous because they know how to work that even if they aren’t the most talented of the bunch.  Louis happens to be one of the rare few that has both artistic and business sense.

Okay, Pidge, stay calm. You know what they say. “When you get lost in space, the best thing to do is stay put and wait for people to find you.” This’ll be nice. I’ll have some “me” time.
No one to annoy me.

Dont want to control your brat? I'll have your car towed

So I went to the doctor today for a check up physical. Well a woman parks in a spot near the door that says “No parking anytime. Car will be towed at owner’s expense” or something along those lines. Well she rushed in with 2 kids so I gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe something major happened. Well I head inside and find them in the waiting room and nothing seems wrong. I sit there and soon regret forgetting my earbuds because her 2 brats were making so much noise and she wouldnt tell them to stop. Other people looked annoyed too and someone spoke up “please control your children” which she replied “they are children they make noise!”.

Well after a dreadful 30 minutes or so the noise did not stop. A staff even asked her politely to quiet the kids so she said a half assed “use your indoor voices” and of course that didnt do shit. So I knew what I had to do. I went over to the receptionist (or whatever you call the people at those booths to sign in) and told her, quite audibly too, that there was a car parked out there illegally. And I know the woman heard me because she was giving me death glares but I pretended not to notice. I was soon called into my appointment. Afterwards I come out to the waiting room to see the woman’s red faced and tears, kids still be obnoxious brats. I wonder what happened so when I go outside, sure enough the car is gone

TLDR; Woman illegally parks and disturbs everyone with her obnoxious kids, I get her car towed

“Friends, don’t make me laugh. She didn’t talk to him for weeks after he started going out with me! But I suppose she wants to make up with him now he’s all interesting.”

Going through the Adam Driver tag, I am curious: Why do people hate him?

Sure, if he did something problematic, I’d get it, but those who hate him complain about his looks and things about him, like being in the military. And I just don’t get it?

Ok, 1, don’t be a jerk about people thinking he is attractive. Some jerks post things that say something akin to, “I hate Adam Driver, he literally looks like a trash can. What a fucking tool.” It is fine that you don’t find him attractive, I have no problem with it, but don’t hate a guy simply because other people do. You can get annoyed with his fans who say and do things that are questionable, but the man himself has never thought of himself as being handsome, has never been got pigheaded after getting fame.

“I have been told before that I have an unusual face. But my face is my face. I had a whole life before acting, over the years. Lots of things have been said about my face.”

2, people hate him because of him being in the military. That’s it. Not because of his views, not because of anything he did, just that. One person had posted that they hated him because, they “don’t like organized groups and the military is the epitome of organized groups.” Ok? What the fuck does that have to do with Adam Driver? So many people have been in the military, are you going to hate them all? And guess what? The community you live in? That is a organized group. Your workplace? Organized group. Your family? Organized group. Just think about that.

3, Adam has never forgotten that as a white male he has privilege, and he never has used it over anyone.

“I’m a straight, white male, and I’ve had more opportunities than other people have, unjustly. And I’ve been lucky on top of that.“

He continued, "It’s so insane to me. That’s why I like being a part of ‘Girls,’ because it’s such a female-driven show. I see so many actors and friends who are so f-king good-but for one reason or another, because they’re female or African American, there aren’t as many opportunities for them. It’s total bullsh-t. My wife is an actress. She’s had to audition for, you know, 'Blonde Girl #3.’ There’s just such sh-ty writing and not as many opportunities.”

He is very aware, and he knows that is partially the reason why he got it, so if you are to be upset with anyone, be upset with the casting directors who ignore other actors who deserve as much, or in some cases, more of chance than him. But Kylo Ren was not simply handed to him. Eddie Redmayne had auditioned for Kylo Ren before Adam Driver was approached, and there may have been others who had auditioned, but JJ Abrams saw him and thought he was perfect. He got this particular part because he is a damn good actor, and I honestly don’t know anyone who could play the part better.

I am not saying that he is a perfect person who had done no wrong, but he isn’t an awful human being that deserves all this crap simply for the reasons listed above. Come to me when he actually does something to deserve hate, and then we will talk.

To everyone who is saying that Eddie's Newt doesn't fit in the Harry Potter world, that he didn't do a good job, let me remind you:

I found Harry in Newt’s awkwardness laced with ‘I don’t fit into this world’.
I found Hermione in his knowledge about his pets and the things he cared about.
I found Ron in his 'I annoy people’ and ginger hair.
I found Hagrid in his love for animals and the fact that he didn’t give a damn about anything if his pets were threatened.
I found Dumbledore in his wise words 'Worry means you suffer twice.’
I found Sirius Black in his rebellous streak and the cheeky grin.
And the best of all, I found a person who was basically me in a world that I have always craved, living a life of dreams and achieving all I could only dream of. A character that we originally knew very little about, but was brought to life in the charmingly disarming way only Eddie Redmayne. Mind you, this is the first time I’ve seen him act, so I’m not biased.
So yes, Newt Scamandar fits and he fits perfectly well in the Harry Potter world; in a world that has flaws and imperfections, with Eddie giving life to him.
All your arguments are therefore invalid.

i just wanna know how other people aren’t bothered by this? like it’s very clear that nothing is ever really just about zayn anymore. she’s always linked somehow to his projects, she’s always jumping in to make her presence known. how do you not find that unfair and annoying? she only ever cares when she can be benefited somehow, she only wants promo. this shit isn’t relationship goals.
