David had embarked on one of his usual midnight hikes when he found himself unable to sleep, laying awake in bed, tossing and turning and twisting himself up in the sheets. It was hard to sleep when you felt something calling to you, a faint voice in the back of his mind that itches and never went away, a voice he could occasionally ignore but never get rid of completely. He told himself it was the voice of the forest, Mother Nature calling and beckoning him, and he could never resist her call.
Instilling as much ✨zen ✨ as can before flying for the next two days 😊✈️🌍 deep breathing is magic… for any age I swear ! Best way to prevent jet leg too or wake up (with out a stimulant) , or to calm down 🙏🏽 to benefit ~ just breathe in slow through your nose and so your ribs push out, not so your chest lifts up, and exhale slowly 10 times, drink a glass of water, and keep blood flowing by even clenching your butt cheeks and firsts and eat light (low salts and fats) works like a charm I swear ✨🙌🏽 Yew !! Ps I’m working with a few companies to show “how to travel healthfully with family in Bali !” Can’t wait to share !! Lots of love ! Have a beeeautiful day #TB #balibound
I just have this headcanon that shin-ah finds jaeha to be… beautiful. like, not that he’s in love with jaeha or anything, he just finds him aesthetically (lol) pleasing
(like how the first night when they’re about to fight yan kumji and shin-ah knows that jaeha’s been awake on watch all night? like, he had to be looking out for jaeha, right?? and i just imagine him looking at the moon filtering through jaeha’s hair and being like “ahh… it’s… pretty…”)
but he’s still really awkward and flustered at jaeha trying to look at his eyes and I just imagine one day jaeha is trying to get him to take off his mask like “ohh come on but your eyes must be so beeeautiful” and shin-ah finally just very embarrassed mumbles “you’re more beautiful” and jaeha just sort of.. freezes… and starts spluttering and blushing… he was not prepared for this.
Okay but sweaty farmer Lexa with her hair up in a ponytail (because we know how good ADC looks in a ponytail) and her sunkissed skin asdhjakdkl so pure.. Maybe Clarke came from the city to escape and get a breather.. Lexa offers her a place to stay and she spends her time painting and learns to help with the animals and the two of them are just all sweat and laughter ... bye
ohhh my godddd but like? clarke and lexa… and like lexa has been out and about doing Farm Girl Stuff™ (i know nothing about farms or beekeeping tbh, i am a lie) and she’s talking through it with clarke and then like the one fluid motion she uses to distractedly sweep her hair up and then pull it in a ponytail and suddenly she’s all? gleaming collarbones and elegant neck, and her hair is a liiiittle sweaty where it’s close to the scalp and all the little baby airs that can’t make it into the hair tie are curling at the nape of her neck or by her ear or there’s like a loose strand stuck to her forehead. and she’s so beautiful and clarke is just like 😍 because lexa just looks so…. wholesome and lovely. and the whole atmosphere is a little, like, hazy with the heat and the warm light of the sun, but lexa’s eyes are as clear and sharp as ever.
Your blog is my absolute fave! I know you've posted a list of books your lit teacher recommended, but what are some of your fave books? Fiction or not.
thank u darlin!!! sighghghg this question is always so hard i suppose i will give u the ones that come to mind first (will include poetry collections as well?)
sputnik sweetheart - haruki murakami [about sumire, a 22-year-old college drop-out writer who is intellectually/spiritually intimate with K (the narrator, an elementary school teacher, mediocre man) and wants to be physically intimate with miu, an older woman who is a beautiful & imperturbable enigma. sumire disappears one day while hanging out with miu in the middle of nowhere. search ensues. lots of talk about dualities, consciousness, identity, drawing lines, what is reality, v typical murakami stuff but very enjoyable + resonated a lot with me. have heard that if you’ve read a lot of murakami this is a overused story arc for him but this was my 2nd book that ive read from him so i’m still feasting on his narrative tropes heehe]
life is elsewhere - milan kundera [details entire life of jaromil & his mother maman, she essentially constructs (and romanticizes) his entire reality, out of coincidence he speaks in rhyme one day and his mother latches onto that and calls him a talented poet. he has issues detaching his identity from his mother’s idea of him, so he turns to the czech revolution (this takes place at the end of ww ii) in an attempt to elicit change in both himself and the world. mother + her artist friend compare him to actual poets e.g. shelley, rimbaud, etc. mother & jaromil both experience numerous failed attempts to love people outside of each other. lots of stuff to think about on connections between poetry vs. revolution vs. motherhood, morality, innocence + lack thereof (this is a v weird bildungsroman), lyricism and beauty. very sad but very good]
the anatomy of being - shinji moon [this is a poetry book that starts from chapter 1: the skin, and travels inward and further and it’s haunting and bold and reassuring all at once, ‘as something / I can keep closer to me / than my own flesh’, she talks about family, the self, love, lack of love, all in such tenderly jolting imagery it is beeeautiful and makes u feel a lot of things. definitely taking this to college with me bc i know i will need her words]
OK im rly tired i’m not going to write blurbs about the next couple books but they r also favorites that i will always go back to
