My four-month old Goldendoodle SD prospect recently ate several socks (we went to a vet, he's alright, they passed) that my roommate left out at home. He's done amazingly at socialization, has been a breeze to train, and has overall otherwise been the seemingly perfect SD prospect with stellar behavior. However, a co-worker of mine (she's not a trainer, but a foster parent for a dog rescue) said that I should consider washing him because of this incident. I'm not entirely sure; any thoughts?
Because a baby who doesn’t have bite/eat/chew inhibition yet ate a sock? They should be washed? No. No way. Honestly that’s ridiculous. My year and a half old service dog ate a sock a month ago.
