Imagine: Being One Of Liam’s Best Friends (Part 3) (Series: Bitten Consequences)
Liam X Reader
Hands firmly gripped your shoulders, forcing you to stay in the position you were in. Your knees felt weak, and your head heavy, but the strong hold the person behind you had on you was enough to keep you on your feet. You head lulled to the side as you felt blood pool out of the burning wound on your shoulder. A weak whimper was the only sound you made, as you tried to focus your half closed eyes. Your knees buckled, causing the person behind you to wrap a strong arm around your waist to keep you standing. A strong scent of pine and disinfectant made you alert to who it was.
“I’m so sorry (Y/n),” a young Sean whispered into your ear, regret embedded in his voice.
“No….worries….” you managed to mutter, your head pounding, your body weak from blood loss.
"Stop talking! This is training! You need to get used to the pain!” A voice boomed, making you flinch with the sudden noise. You’re eyes made their way around the dark room, spotting several figures, but no faces. Trying to stand firmly on the ground without Sean’s help, you let your head raise, eyes looking forwards as you stood straight. You hated having to be like this. Like a plastic soldier that gets placed wherever their owner wants.
"Do it again,” the same booming voice said, as a dark figure walked closer, an air of dominance surrounding them. The only detail you could make out, was their eyes. They were glowing red, but were glazed over with a layer of white.
You cocked your head to the side, letting Sean have a clear shot at your neck. With little hesitation, Sean grew sharp razor teeth, sinking them far into the flesh on your shoulder. Once again, for maybe the tenth time this night, you felt something snap inside you.
A loud growling scream left your mouth, sending a big force throughout the room. All the figures that were once standing around you in a circle, where now on the floor, the only one still standing was Sean, who’s teeth managed to rip out a nice size chunk of flesh from your shoulder. Your knees finally gave out as you fell to the floor, slipping in and out of consciousness. You could see bits and pieces of Sean, who sat on the floor, eyes glowing white as he dug into a bucket, pulling out chunks of raw meat, shoving them into his mouth. A familiar voice called out from behind you, the sound of their clapping ringing your suddenly sensitive ears.
"That wa…..hell of……shee screa…..erfect alp….this pac…” was all you could make out, as you went back and forth from the darkness, before finally letting it wash over you.
You woke up with a start, sitting up in bed as you grasped your shoulder, expecting there to be a big wound. To your relief there wasn’t one, but your shoulder did still have a phantom ache from the dream. Well, it was more of a dark memory. Shaking your head to get rid of the thoughts, you panted slightly as you threw the blanket off you. Standing up, you stumbled over to your window, opening it to let cool air in. Your eyes automatically wandered down the block, where you could see Liam’s home in the distance. Squinting your eyes, you could just make out the faint light coming from Liam’s bedroom window. Glancing over to your alarm clock, you noticed it was almost 3 o’clock in the morning.
Biting your lip, you contemplated whether or not you should message him. Looking at your phone, you sighed, before looking back out the window, deciding against it. He’s been acting weird ever since the party he was invited to by that junior girl, Kira. It was like he was avoiding you. You’ve asked Mason about it, but he didn’t know what was going on either. You tried to think of any reason as to why he would avoid you. You couldn’t think of any solid reason, so you huffed, climbing back into bed.
“If he wants to be an ass, let him be an ass,” you grumbled to yourself, throwing your blanket back over your body, covering your head as you did so. Closing your eyes, you forced your body to relax. Just as you started to slip back into sleep, a light creek immediately woke you back up. Staying still for a moment, you could hear the very light squeak from your window. It was slightly scratchy, as if someone was slowly pulling the window higher. Flipping over in bed, you pounced up, ready to fight off whoever it was at your window. A deep chuckle vibrated around the room, easing your erratic heartbeat.
“What the hell are you doing here Sean?”
“Well, tomorrow we have training, so I came to prep you,” he said matter-of-factly, strolling over to your bed and plopping down. You gave him a blank stare, sitting on the opposite side of the bed than him.
“Come on (Y/n), it’s only a massage and stretching . You know it’ll help you tomorrow. Plus, it’s not like I’m trying to do anything, not everyone is attracted to you, you know that?” Sean said, mumbling the last part under his breath. You rolled your eyes, laying on your stomach on the middle of your bed. Sean got up, moving over you so he could sit on your butt. You grumbled under your breath at his weight, but he ignored it. Taking you right arm, he stretched it out behind you, using one hand to keep your shoulder firmly in place. After a few more similar stretches, he proceeded to push firmly on your spine, effectively cracking your back. A deep sigh escaped you as he massaged your back, releasing the tension in the muscles.
Liam growled jealously, as he glared into your window. He could feel himself losing control as his claws extended, desperately wanting to climb into your room, and rip Sean apart. His vision kept shifting, turning from red-tinted back to normal, first seeing you and Sean furiously making out, stripping clothes as you went, then it turning to Sean simply helping you stretch, as you grumbled curse words at him. Liam stepped back, jumping off your neighbor’s roof, and into your yard. He couldn’t understand what was happening. What was real? Why couldn’t he just walk away? Why did you matter so much?
“Liam!” A voice yelled, breaking Liam out of his trancelike state. He glanced up, spotting Scott standing on the sidewalk. Liam could tell that his eyes were glowing yellow, his fangs elongated, his claws out. Liam unintentionally looked up to your window, alerting Scott as to what was happening.
“Come on Liam. You’re losing control, it’s probably not what it seems. Listen,” Scott said making Liam calm for a second, before listening to what was going on in your bedroom.
“Stop standing on my fucking back! You’re heavy as hell, and you’re going to break my spine!” Liam heard you growl, before a loud shuffling. After a few moments of the noise, it suddenly stopped as you laughed triumphantly.
“Ha-Ha! Got you in a headlock!” You laughed evilly, as muffled curses could be heard from Sean.
“See? You’re overreacting, you’re losing control. You’re only seeing what you want to see,” Scott said, snapping Liam’s attention back to him. All Liam could do was nod, shuffling towards Scott. Scott sighed, running a hand through his hair.
“At this rate, you’re going to have to stay away from her. She’s making you lose control,” Scott muttered.
Smiling widely, you quickly locked your bike up to the bike rack, running into the school, looking for either one of your best friends. You were so excited, that you ran into people as you raced through the halls. Your eyes scanned every hallway you past, desperately searching for Liam or Mason. Shooting around the corner, you ran straight into a hard chest.
“Dammit (Y/n)! Watch where you’re going,” Brian grumbled, catching you as you almost fell. You smiled sheepishly at the new kid, muttering an apology as you bounced around. Brian and a few others you previously knew, just transferred over to Beacon Hills. You’ve known Brian and the rest since you were a child, you were all close, but since you went to different school before, you didn’t have time to hang out much.
“Why are you sprinting down the halls like a maniac?” Sean asked from behind Brian, standing next to Kev, and Arin, the other two who transferred.
“Nothing you already don’t know,” you said, sticking out your tongue. You eyed the car keys dangling from Sean’s finger, pausing for a second.
“Where did you get a car?” You questioned.
“It was my mom’s before she….you know,” Sean mumbled.
“You’re gonna give me a ride after school?”
“No, We’re leave before you,”
“Where are y'all going?”
“None of your business,”
You glared at him, not liking that he wouldn’t tell you where they were planning on going. You glanced at the other three boys, but they all looked away, clearly not going to tell you. You rolled your eyes, before a devious plan popped into your head. In your hyperactive state, you didn’t bother thinking of consequences. In a split second, you grabbed the keys from his hand, dashing down the hall and turning a quick left. You heard multiple footsteps chasing after you.
You beamed widely as you ran, dashing down a hall, before backtracking when you saw a familiar face. You jogged up to Liam, grabbing his sleeve and tugging on it multiple times to gain his attention. He looked over at you with a blank expression, but you ignored it.
“Liam! Guess what! My mom gave me her old car! Well, she’s giving me it tonight. So I was wondering if you wanted to go out of town and see a movie?” You asked excitedly. Liam glanced around him, that’s when you noticed you were surrounded by Scott and his friends, all of them looking at Liam expectedly. He gulped, before looking down at you in annoyance. You stepped back slightly, confused as to why he seemed so mad at you.
“No,” he growled out, looking away from you. Your heart dropped as you held your hands up in defense.
“Whoa, are you sure? You always wanted to…” you muttered, not being able to stop feeling self conscious at all the eyes staring at you two.
“No! Leave me alone!” Liam yelled, turning his back to you.
“O-oh, o-okay then,” you stuttered quietly, tears welling up in your eyes as you stared at Liam’s back.
“Found her!” Brian called loudly, catching everyone’s attention. Swallowing, you quickly walked towards him, burying your face into his chest, as tears started pouring down your face silently. He immediately wrapped his arm around you, looking down worriedly at your face. Not questioning it, he lead you away from the hall, away from Liam’s piercing glare.
Liam clenched his fist, fighting hard to keep control as he sat at a new lunch table, surrounded by Scott and the pack. The only one who wasn’t part of the pack was Mason, who sat across from him. Liam closed his eyes, trying to control his breathing. Scott’s words ran through his mind, calming him slightly.
“You’ll get to be with her, after you control your new senses. The faster you show me you could handle it, the faster you’ll be with (Y/n),”
Liam glanced up at the door, shaking his leg as a nervous habit. He knew (Y/n) would be there any second, and just seeing her would calm him down further. Just as he thought, (Y/n) entered the lunchroom with a lunch tray in her hands, her eyes scanning over the tables to where the group would usually sit. Her eyebrows furrowed when she saw it was empty. Liam winced, remembering that Garrett and Violet weren’t at school today, and Mason was sitting with him, leaving (Y/n) alone. Her eyes glanced over towards Liam, making Liam look away quickly with an indifferent expression. He heard her sigh, before she slowly made her way over to the empty table, her shoulders slumped. Liam watched as she shuffled over to the table, putting her tray and bag down before sitting down. She picked up her burger and was about to bite into it, before a hand smacked it away from her. Liam jumped up, ready to fight whoever did that, then he noticed it was Sean.
“What the fuck!?” (Y/n) yelled incredulously, her eyes wide as Sean took her whole tray, dumping it into a nearby trash can. A hand gripped Liam’s arm, making him tear his eyes away from the scene playing out before him. Liam looked down at Lydia, who gave him a look.
“Sit down,” she said, pulling him down to his seat. He hesitantly sat down, his eyes shooting back over to (Y/n). A guy he never seen before had grabbed her bag, tossing it on his shoulder as two others stood behind him. Sean grabbed (Y/n)’s arm, forcing her up.
“We’re not eating here. We’re leaving for the rest of the day, they want us,” he said, giving her a look that Liam couldn’t decipher, but (Y/n) understood. (Y/n)’s face went stoic, as she shook her arm out of Sean’s grip.
“Come,” She said, using a voice that Liam has never heard her use before. The tone of her voice was demanding and controlling, it almost made Liam get up and follow her. (Y/n) straightened out her back, her head held up, her eyes looking straight forward, as she lead the group of boys, the boys looking like helpless ducklings following her every command.
Liam shook his head with a confused face, watching as they left the cafeteria. He couldn’t get that tone of voice out of his head. He heard it somewhere, but he just couldn’t remember where…
