NYT gives an inside look at Bukharian bashes

Yesterday’s New York Times had a behind the scenes look at the life of Bukharian jews from Uzbekistan and their raucous celebrations at King David, a Forest Hills restaurant that manages to look both foreboding and garish from the outside. Plov–a pilaf of sorts made of beef, lamb, carrots and kokuho rice--is served in copious amounts at weddings and birthday parties. I shall be eating some plov, and right quick!
