Hey Jet! I'm glad you're making X-Men Day a regular thing! I don't know much about the old comics, and I love when you talk about something you love. I was curious, do you have the comics you're talking about? Or did you learn about them from scans?
OH I HAVE SO MUCH LOVE TO SHOW YOU
WE HAVE BARELY BEGUN TO NERD
All the issues I’ve talked about so far, I do in fact own! We have a room in our house devoted to comic books (and also Hubby’s video games):
We call it The Danger Room, because of course we do. Also it’s a hideous mess right now, ignore that part.
I’ve been building my Uncanny collection since I was about ten years old. It’s slowed considerably over the years, as older issues not only get harder to find, but more and more expensive as time goes on. Still, it’s one of the things I treasure most in the entire world. Near my whole life can be mapped by this fucking thing. Most every issue is associated with some kind of memory of where I was and what was going on in my life at the time I acquired it.
I have a few scattered earlier issues, but my collection truly begins with Uncanny #108, and then I have a complete run until #544 (when Marvel made the fucking move to restart the numbering A DECISION ABOUT WHICH WE WILL NOT SPEAK).
So yeah! Most everything I’ll be talking about, I own, including today’s #168.
