brunch with boys

This is from the blog post immediately after the end of year 2, and looking back on it, it gives us the entire plot of year 3???????

“How will they tell the boys?” Brunch at Jerry’s

“Will Jack keep this a secret from his NHL team?” He comes out to George and Marty, and presumably Tater.

“Who are the members of his NHL team?” Meet the Falconers update, anyone?

“How will Bitty deal with the pressure of dating an NHL player-or the sadness of sacfricing a relationship for Jack’s NHL career?” THIS IS LITERALLY THE ENTIRE PLOT OF FALL YEAR 3. I’M PRETTY SURE THIS IS DIALOGUE FROM BITTY’S VOICEMAIL.

“It’s Lardo’s last year as manager-how can anyone replace her?” FORD!!

“Are Ransom, Holster and Lardo going to get jobs?” also the plot of the Ford update????

But there are still some unanswered questions in this, like who’s going to be captain and when will Mama Bittle and Coach find out?

Are You Two Dating Now?

“Love? Can you grab the plates?” Joe calls out, glancing up from the food he’s cooking.

“Yup.” Y/N closes her computer, jumping up from the couch, she crosses the floor, her hand sliding along Joe’s back as she passes him, reaching for the plates. “Smells delicious.”

“We went Italian tonight!” He replies proudly, smiling over his shoulder at her.

“Always wanted to go to Italy,” She sighs, pausing briefly, plates in hand.

“I’ll take you one day.”

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Sugg.”

“Me? Never.” He chuckles, wrapping an arm around her waist as he pulls her to his side, placing a kiss on her temple. “This is one I will keep. I’ll get you to Italy, Y/N. Just you wait.”

“Mhm, sure.” She rolls her eyes, placing the plates on the counter. “Can we eat now?”

“Just have to dish it out. Go take a seat.”

“How did I get so lucky?” Y/N asks, sitting at the work top on the other side, “I have an amazing best friend who cooks me delicious food and promises a trip to Italy.”

“I know, I’m pretty amazing.” Joe answers, winking at her as he places a plate of food in front of her. “Enjoy!”

The little moments between them were so normal now, that they never paid attention to them.

Of course, the boys had noticed, wondering why the two best friends acted like a couple without actually dating, but Y/N and Joe just shrugged and said it was who they were.

How they acted with each other was just who they were, it felt right for them. They never considered that they might have real feelings, they were just part of each other’s lives, and it was left at that.

“You ready for bed?” Joe asks a couple hours later, looking down at Y/N, who’s practically asleep on his lap.

“Hmm, think so.” She mumbles, yawning lightly. “Unless you wanna finish the movie?”

“The movie will be there tomorrow, love. Let’s go to bed.”

Nodding, she sits up, stretching. “Your couch is too comfy. And so are you.”

“My beds much comfier though,” He tells her, holding out a hand to help her up.

“I know. I always sleep better in it than my own,” Y/N laughs leaning against him as he leads her up to his room.

Once they’re in the bedroom, she walks over to Joe’s closet, grabbing a random shirt before stripping out of her own clothes, slipping it over her head a moment later.

“Here,” He’s waiting for her outside of the closet, a warm facecloth in his hand, and she takes it with a smile, beginning to wipe the make up off of her face.

“Oh shit,” Joe curses softly, pausing in his movements of pulling the blankets back on the bed.

“What’s wrong?”

“I forgot to send an email. It’s pretty important, too.”

“Then go do it, and then come to bed.” Y/N tells him, walking over to wrap her arms around him, looking up at him. “You won’t relax until you do it.”

“Sorry,” He smiles sheepishly down at her, one hand reaching up to brush the hair out of her face, “I know you were all ready for bed.”

“It’s fine.” Lifting up, she places a simple kiss on his lips, “Go write your email. I’ll be here when you’re back.”

“Thanks, love.”

Neither think of the kiss that just occurred, another moment that just felt right for them.

And when Joe slips into bed beside her a short while later, he pulls her close, kissing her forehead softly.

“Night.” She mutters sleepily.

“Goodnight, Y/N.”

And when he kisses her good morning, they don’t think anything of it either.

The shift in their relationship simply happened, and both accept it without saying anything.

“The boys are coming over for brunch,” Joe tells her, his fingers running along her arm.

“Then we should probably get up and get dressed.”

Yet they remain cuddled up in bed for a while longer, only dragging themselves out when Jack texts them to say that he and Josh will be there in ten minutes.

Y/N tosses her hair into a messy bun before pulling on her pants from last night, leaving Joe’s shirt on. He smiles over at her when she appears downstairs, commenting how nice she looks in his stuff.

“I should steal it more often.” She teases before going to answer the door as the boys arrive.

By now, the boys were used to the two acting like a couple, even if they didn’t really understand the relationship between the two, so no one batted an eye when they saw her wearing his shirt, or when Joe’s eyes followed her around the room.

And even when she wrapped her arms around him from behind, leaning against him while she chatted casually with Jack, the boys just took it in stride.

It wasn’t until they were cleaning up from brunch that the boys grew confused.

“You don’t have to do that, love.” Joe says to Y/N, trying to pull her away from the sink where she’s doing dishes.

“It needs to be done,” She laughs, flicking bubbles at him.

“Make one of them do it, then.” He grins, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her closer.

“Do you not want clean dishes?” She asks, her arms moving up to around his neck.

“Hmm, fair point.” Joe answers, leaning down to kiss her gently. “At least let me help?”

“Fine, you can dry.” Y/N tells him, lifting up to kiss him once more before she turns back to the sink.

The group of boys all stare over at them in shock and confusion, exchanging glances.

“Okay, what the fuck?” Caspar finally says, drawing the attention of the couple who aren’t a couple.

“What’s wrong?” Joe asks, taking the plate from Y/N, drying it.

“When did…that happen?” Conor asks, gesturing between the two.

“When did what happen?” Y/N glances over at Joe, but he shrugs, placing the plate onto the counter.

“You two just kissed.” Jack tells them, “I mean, we get you two are touchy and she wears your clothes and stays the night…but, you kissed.”

“Well, at least we know Jack can see.” Joe laughed, “But what’s the problem?”

“Are you two dating now?” Josh asks them, glancing between the two.

Y/N and Joe share a look, a silent conversation happening between them before she smiles, placing a soapy hand on his cheek as she reaches up to kiss him again.

“Suppose we are.”

“Guess so.” Joe shrugs, smiling fondly down at her.

“You two are so bloody confusing…” Oli mumbles, shaking his head.

Yet to Y/N and Joe, it all makes perfect sense.

Because it’s just who they are.

The train is in the station - Jack Maynard imagine

I felt like my period was coming soon - mainly because I had cried over spilled milk last night. Literally spilled milk. Jack chuckled at my tears and put me to bed knowing too that the period train was coming into the station. I woke up to the old familiar ache in my stomach. I went to the bathroom to clean up and change into fresh pants and one of jacks shirts. When I came back, jack was facing the wall still sleeping. I got in on my side of the bed as carefully as I could to not wake jack, and curled into a ball, trying to find sleep again. Jack must have felt the bed move under him because just seconds later he had his hand on my tummy pulling me ever so gently onto my back so I was closer to him. His nose pressed into the side of my head, his eyes still shut.

“Is the train in the station?” he whispered, tickling my cheek with his breath. I nodded and sighed. Jack’s hand went under my shirt and he started rubbing my tummy with his thumb. “Do you need anything” his voice rumbled low, his lips slowly peppering the side of my head with soft kisses. “Just keep doing what you’re doing.” I said, closing my eyes and enjoying jacks caresses. He gently turned me and pulled me into him so my back was pressed against his chest and continued massaging my stomach. We laid peacefully for a little while until I remembered that we were supposed to meet the boys later on.

“Jack, baby, where’s my phone?” I asked half asleep, feeling around the bed to try and find it. “Pretty sure you left it on the nightstand, babe.” he mumbled. I struggled a little bit to get out of his grasp and to the nightstand to retrieve my phone, my movement making jack whine. “Babe we have brunch with the boys in like 20 minutes.” I groaned and pushed my face into his bare chest. “Do you feel up to it? We can ask them to reschedule.” Jack hugged me close and put his fingers in my hair, massaging my scalp. “Please. Lets reschedule for lunch maybe.” Jack grabbed his phone, being careful not to disturb me, and sent a quick message to the boys. A cramp hit hard and I moaned and squeezed my eyes shut.

“Are you sure you don’t need anything?” Jack stroked my cheek with his thumb. “Maybe some medication and a hot water bottle would help.” I said, trying my best not to move. “Ok, give me two seconds” Jack carefully untangled himself from me and went to fulfill my wishes. I whined a bit when he left, but shut up as soon as I remembered what he was going to get. Jack returned soon with my meds, a hot water bottle, and a drink. “Thanks, Jack,” I smiled up at him. “You’re welcome, love.”

I’ve finally arrived back in NYC this afternoon, now able to type out my whole top surgery experience and the week after from the comfort of my computer. This is going to be a long detailed post so grab a cold one, grab a seat and get comfy.

August 1st, 2017 (1028 days on T)

With the well wishes of my coworkers, bosses and friends, I set out with my backpack filled with all I needed and head out to Port Authority Bus Terminal to meet up with my boyfriend, who was going to be taking care of me. We met up, had some Subway sandwiches and waited to board our Greyhound bus to Cleveland, Ohio. It was a 12 hour bus ride so we loaded up on movies to watch and tried to sleep when we got tired of that. We had to make transfers at Buffalo so we ended up not getting much sleep. I remember looking in the bathroom mirror seeing bags under my eyes, lol.

August 2nd, 2017 (1029 days on T)

By the time we boarded our bus in Buffalo, it was early morning and it only took a few more hours until e arrived in Cleveland. When we finally arrived, it was pretty much time for brunch and, boy, were we STARVING. As soon as we got off the bus, we ran off to the nearest diner to get some food to eat. Our airbnb didn’t allow check in before 3:00 PM so we tried to take our time exploring a little bit of the area before heading there. We were surprised at how hot it was over in Ohio; with all the baggage we were carrying, we worked up quite a sweat and our airbnb was quite out of the way as it was located in the suburbs of Ohio. As such, it was a long walk from where the mall was where our Lyft dropped us off. My parents were flying to Ohio and wanted us to get to the airbnb first. We hanged around Target for an hour or two until it was about time to do check-in and, to our surprise, my folks were already at the airbnb talking with the host.

The host was nice but really curious (nosey, actually) about us, asking so many questions about why are we visiting Ohio, why did we choose her airbnb listing out of all the listings and what exactly we are here for. I guess to many people who live there, Ohio wasn’t exactly a hotspot worth exploring and so finding tourists is rare? In any case, we kept our interactions as brief as possible and giving the least amount of detail as possible while still remaining polite. She left us mostly to ourselves, which I am happy about. We choose our beds, unpacked our things and went straight to bed, eagerly awaiting whatever may come tomorrow.
