Last beer review of 2011. Pours a beautiful light copper with a small head that sort of disappears into a ring and leaves some decent lacing. Nose is pretty bourbon, a little woodsy. First sip is full of delicious bourbon flavors, oak and vanilla. Finish is much of the same. Body is medium and carbonation is about the same.
I have to confess, I am a bourbon stan and I passed up the ‘10 vintage because the bourbon flavors were all but gone. So this, to me, is perfect.
Verdict: this is a nice bourbon-barrel aged beer. Just the right amount of bourbon and nice candied holiday flavors around the edges.
