Holden Torana GTR-X, 1970. Because England are about to win Cricket’s Ashes series against Australia today I’m going to post Australian cars starting with one of my favourites. The Torana GTR-X was powered by 160hp 186ci (3 litre) six-cylinder engine, fitted with three Zenith-Stromberg CD-150 carburettors, a performance cylinder head and camshaft and an Opel four-speed manual gearbox. GMH (General Motors Holden) we serious about producing the car and sales brouchures were printed but only three prototypes were ever made, two of which survive. One remains on public display at the Salmon Street offices of Holden in Melbourne, Victoria.
The last movie you watched on DVD: Frida (2002) and Life After People tv series.
The last movie you watched in the theatre: The Great Wall, when I first heard about it I was prepared for complete white washing, but then I heard it was written, directed by a Chinese director and features a prominently Asian cast. I was pleasantly surprised.
The last song you listened to: Mix of Moana soundtrack, Studio Ghibli soundtracks and a couple of Black Sabbath songs.
The last book you read: I’m presently reading Tracks by Robyn Davidson, so far I’m really enjoying it.
The last thing you ate: Vegemite toast. (Yeah, I’m definitely Aussie)
If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? (Pulls out a ton of travel brouchures from under the bed) I’m going everywhere but so far I’m planning trips to Vietnam, Cambodia and Borneo. And New Zealand, no question, I love it there, went on a school ski trip and I am going back.
First thing you would do with lottery money: Make some nice donations to several organisations and then I’m travelling.
Fictional character you would hang with: Kind of a long list but I’ll stick with a couple; Hermione Granger, Sun and Kala from Sense8, Pidge Gunderson, Rey, Finn and Poe, and Evelyn Carnahan/O’Connell from the Mummy.
What was the last fandom you joined? I think its a tie between Fantastic Beasts and Voltron Legendary Defender.
