Here’s a neat picture of Jacob taken near the Anderson Pea Soup Restaurant in Buellton last month, on our father/son road trip to visit grandparents in Southern California. I like having this as my desktop background image. (Sometimes it appears as though he is pointing at the window I am using!)
The statues behind him are of children saluting the American flag. It’s part of a wonderfully landscaped median in the middle of the road “Avenue of the Flags.”
Even though I worked for 10 weeks with a town that had one in it, I never went. So finally, on the way to move, I stopped by with my girlfriend to see if this oddly green concotion would live up to its name.
It did. Now I’m no pea soup afficiando, in fact, I usually don’t even like the stuff, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t enjoy every bit of that bowl. Plus, it arrived in less than 3 minutes or so after ordered, so that’s service.
