brother and sister fight

Head canon that whenever Natasha is asked sexist questions by the media, the boys just keep going to increasingly ridiculous lengths to get there and answer the question instead.

Reporter: Do you ever feel resentment for this job reducing the possibility of having a family?
Bruce, strolling by: I don’t know, I never really thought about having a family to begin with. I prefer spending my time in the company of friends.

Reporter: Do you feel like you have to be super girly to stand out or super masculine to fit in with all the men?
Steve, jumping over from his own group of reporters: See, that’s what I love about the 21st century. Lots of room for gender expression however you want. *pointed Disappointed Captain Look*

Reporter: Do you think your emotions ever get the best of you on the field?
Thor, landing with Mjolnir: I have spent many years learning to control my pride on the battlefield and not lose my head during a fight. I thank my shield brothers and sister for helping me.

Reporter: How do you come out of a fight looking so fabulous?
Tony, flying in on a private helicopter probably: It’s just genetics, dear. I always look fabulous. I looked fabulous while dying.

Reporter:  What kind of product do you use in your hair?
Bucky, ziplining in from the next building over: L’oreal. *hands out the expertly photoshopped ad Darcy made of him in a L’oreal ad*

Reporter: What kind of diet do you use to stay in shape?
Clint, leaping out of an air vent: You know, I’ve been thinking of trying paleo, but this is all natural. Pizza for days, baby. Keeping aliens from destroying the world tends to burn a few calories.

anonymous asked:

you said you had a lot planned for the 'shiro dad adopts cat boy au'? like headcanons And stuff? that au gives melife... so.. could I hear some? please? :D

Sure!! I’m not sure when I’ll get the chance to draw stuff for it so heres a few things I had planned for it :-)

1. Keith was (accidentally?) brought back on a mission and it wasn’t long before Shiro caught wind around the Garrison of the little Galra boy that no one was exactly sure what to do with. When he saw the tiny scared kid behind the glass of the examination room he saw Keith for exactly what he was, just a tiny scared kid, and he convinced the lead as to why it would be in everyones best interest if Keith could come home with him and be raised, then study at the Garrison later on. He did believe in what he was saying, but in all honesty his heart just sank for the boy, and he couldn’t bear to leave him trapped alone in a sterile white room while people of questionable concern decided his fate.

Keith takes awhile to warm up to Shiro, but Shiro doesn’t give up on him. A few weeks later Shiro brings Keith back for a check up and Keith throws a temper tantrum with a force Shiro has never witnessed before, but he does everything he can to reassure him that he’s not going anywhere, he still gets to come home with him. Keith clings with a vice grip to Shiro’s shirt the ENTIRE time, and after the poor baby’s long day, he falls asleep on Shiro on the ride home. Watching Keith relaxed on him, with his little chest gently rising and falling, Shiro realizes just how much he loves this kid.

And now Shiro is not only newly thrust into single fatherhood, but with a purple alien baby none the less. And unfortunately for him, theres no wikihows on how to raise Galra kids.

2. Keith chews on things to self-soothe. Just about everything he can get his mouth on, but his chewing objects of choice are usually Shiro’s shirts. Poor Shiro’s wallet has taken a hit because of it, as new tiny holes seem to appear on all of his t-shirts every time he does laundry.

3. They sleep on the same futon! Because its cute, and Keith very attached to Shiro

The founding members of The Young Lords party grew up in the NYC projects as the children of working class, Puerto Rican migrants. They were known for their proactive social protest and community activities like burning garbage piles and taking over a church to run a free breakfast program.

The Young Lords began as a Puerto Rican turf gang in the Lincoln Park, Chicago neighborhood of Lincoln Park in the fall of 1960 and as a civil and human rights movement on Grito de Lares, September 23, 1968. During Mayor Daley’s tenure, Puerto Ricans in Lincoln Park and several Mexican communities were completely evicted from areas near the Loop, lakefront, Old Town, Lakeview and Lincoln Park, in order to increase property tax revenues. When they realized that urban renewal was evicting their families from their barrios and witnessed police abuses, some Puerto Ricans became involved in the June 1966 Division Street Riots in Wicker Park and Humboldt Park. They were officially reorganized from the gang into a civil and human rights movement by Jose Cha Cha Jimenez, who was the last president of the former gang and became the founder of the new Young Lords Movement

Latinos of all shades and hair texture came together, not phased by the petty discrimination rife within their community. The Young Lords grew into a national movement through the leadership of activists like Angela Lind Adorno who met with Vietnamese women, Omar López, David Rivera, Field Marshall, Dr. Tony Baez a leader in Bi-lingual, Bi-Cultural Education and Richie Pérez who established the Puerto Rican Student Union (PRSU) in a number of college campuses and high schools.

The Young Lords’ supported independence for Puerto Rico, all Latino nations and oppressed nations of the world and also neighborhood empowerment. This is clear by the original symbol with a map of Puerto Rico and a brown fist holding up a rifle and the purple lettering reading, “Tengo Puerto Rico en mi Corazon” (“I have Puerto Rico in my heart”). They saw themselves as a people’s struggle, a vanguard connected with the masses and it is why they began in Chicago fighting against the displacement of Puerto Ricans from Lincoln Park. While the national symbol and YLO (Young Lords Organization) appeared on buttons, the New York chapter began the local “Garbage Offensive”, which was an organizing vehicle and city-service concern. The Young Lords also addressed the local issues of police injustice, health care, tenants’ rights, free breakfast for children, free day care, and more accurate Latino education. The urban renewal campaign was framed by the Chicago office as the modern day land question, since Emiliano Zapata, who said, “all revolutions are based on land”

Young Lords Party

13-Point Program and Platform:

1. We want self-determination for Puerto Ricans–Liberation of the Island and inside the United States.

For 500 years, first spain and then united states have colonized our country. Billions of dollars in profits leave our country for the united states every year. In every way we are slaves of the gringo. We want liberation and the Power in the hands of the People, not Puerto Rican exploiters.

Que Viva Puerto Rico Libre!

2. We want self-determination for all Latinos.

Our Latin Brothers and Sisters, inside and outside the united states, are oppressed by amerikkkan business. The Chicano people built the Southwest, and we support their right to control their lives and their land. The people of Santo Domingo continue to fight against gringo domination and its puppet generals. The armed liberation struggles in Latin America are part of the war of Latinos against imperialism.

Que Viva La Raza!

3. We want liberation of all third world people.

Just as Latins first slaved under spain and the yanquis, Black people, Indians, and Asians slaved to build the wealth of this country. For 400 years they have fought for freedom and dignity against racist Babylon (decadent empire). Third World people have led the fight for freedom. All the colored and oppressed peoples of the world are one nation under oppression.

No Puerto Rican Is Free Until All People Are Free!

4. We are revolutionary nationalists and oppose racism.

The Latin, Black, Indian and Asian people inside the u.s. are colonies fighting for liberation. We know that washington, wall street and city hall will try to make our nationalism into racism; but Puerto Ricans are of all colors and we resist racism. Millions of poor white people are rising up to demand freedom and we support them. These are the ones in the u.s. that are stepped on by the rules and the government. We each organize our people, but our fights are against the same oppression and we will defeat it together.

Power To All Oppressed People!

5. We want community control of our institutions and land.

We want control of our communities by our people and programs to guarantee that all institutions serve the needs of our people. People’s control of police, health services, churches, schools, housing, transportation and welfare are needed. We want an end to attacks on our land by urban removal, highway destruction, universities and corporations.

Land Belongs To All The People!

6. We want a true education of our Creole culture and Spanish language.

We must learn our history of fighting against cultural, as well as economic genocide by the yanqui. Revolutionary culture, culture of our people, is the only true teaching.

7. We oppose capitalists and alliances with traitors.

Puerto Rican rulers, or puppets of the oppressor, do not help our people. They are paid by the system to lead our people down blind alleys, just like the thousands of poverty pimps who keep our communities peaceful for business, or the street workers who keep gangs divided and blowing each other away. We want a society where the people socialistically control their labor.

Venceremos!

8. We oppose the Amerikkkan military.

We demand immediate withdrawal of u.s. military forces and bases from Puerto Rico, Vietnam and all oppressed communities inside and outside the u.s. No Puerto Rican should serve in the u.s. army against his Brothers and Sisters, for the only true army of oppressed people is the people’s army to fight all rulers.

U.S. Out Of Vietnam, Free Puerto Rico!

9. We want freedom for all political prisoners.

We want all Puerto Ricans freed because they have been tried by the racist courts of the colonizers, and not by their own people and peers. We want all freedom fighters released from jail.

Free All Political Prisoners!

10. We want equality for women. Machismo must be revolutionary… not oppressive.

Under capitalism, our women have been oppressed by both the society and our own men. The doctrine of machismo has been used by our men to take out their frustrations against their wives, sisters, mothers, and children. Our men must support their women in their fight for economic and social equality, and must recognize that our women are equals in every way within the revolutionary ranks.

Forward, Sisters, In The Struggle!

11. We fight anti-communism with international unity.

Anyone who resists injustice is called a communist by “the man” and condemned. Our people are brainwashed by television, radio, newspapers, schools, and books to oppose people in other countries fighting for their freedom. No longer will our people believe attacks and slanders, because they have learned who the real enemy is and who their real friends are. We will defend our Brothers and Sisters around the world who fight for justice against the rich rulers of this country.

Viva Che!

12. We believe armed self-defense and armed struggle are the only means to liberation.

We are opposed to violence–the violence of hungry children, illiterate adults, diseased old people, and the violence of poverty and profit. We have asked, petitioned, gone to courts, demonstrated peacefully, and voted for politicians full of empty promises. But we still ain’t free. The time has come to defend the lives of our people against repression and for revolutionary war against the businessman, politician, and police. When a government oppresses our people, we have the right to abolish it and create a new one.

Boricua Is Awake! All Pigs Beware!

13. We want a socialist society.

We want liberation, clothing, free food, education, health care, transportation, utilities, and employment for all. We want a society where the needs of our people come first, and where we give solidarity and aid to the peoples of the world, not oppression and racism.

Hasta La Victoria Siempre!

The Young Lords were a target of the FBI’s COINTELPRO, which had long harassed Puerto Rican independence groups. The New York-Chicago schism mirrored the “Divide and Conquer” divisions within other New Left groups like the Black Panther Party, Students for a Democratic Society, Brown Berets and many other new left movements. All of these organizations were repressed. At first, the splits were believed to be the result of growing pains, as this movement was very young and spread quickly. But it is now documented that it was primarily due to police infiltration by informants and provocateurs, and planned and shaped by the ongoing undercover work of the FBI’s COINTELPRO

The leaders were framed, beaten, given high bonds, imprisoned, harassed, and discredited. The entire Chicago leadership was forced underground in order to reorganize itself. Tactics against the movements included negative rumor campaigns, pitting groups against each other and the creation of factionalism, distrust and personality conflicts. In Chicago, COINTELPRO created an official anti-Rainbow Coalition component. Members were interviewed in public view in front of the church. The Red Squad was also parked 24 hours a day in front of the national headquarters. Other harassment included inciting quarrels between spouses and between members and allies. The founder and chairman, Jose Cha Cha Jimenez not only was indicted 18 times in a six-week period for felony charges such as assault and battery on police to mob action; he was kept in the county jail, or in court rooms fighting the charges, and received constant death threats.

While the Young Lords advocated armed strategies similar to those advocated by the Black Panthers, it was as a right of self-defense and rarely arose. It did after the shooting of Manuel Ramos and the implications of police foul play in the circumstances surrounding the beating death of José (Pancho) Lind, the supposed suicide of Julio Roldán in the custody of the NYPD and the fatal stabbings in Chicago of the United Methodist Church Rev. Bruce Johnson and his wife Eugenia, who pastored in Lincoln Park at the Young Lord’s first People’s Church in Chicago.

The documentary Palante, Siempre Palante! The Young Lords, produced by Young Lord Iris Morales, aired on PBS in 1996. Palante, Siempre Palante! The Young Lords, documents the period from 1969 through the organization’s demise in 1976. The Young Lords represented another cycle of militancy, write Andres Torres and Jose Velasquez in The Puerto Rican Movement: Voices From the Diaspora, a collection of personal narratives from activists of the period.

In 2015, The Young Lords was the focus of a new art exhibit organized by The Bronx Museum of the Arts called “¡Presente! The Young Lords in New York.” It is on view at three different cultural institutions in New York.

French Kiss.

“I’m telling you the truth,” You laughed quietly, gazing at your silver haired boyfriend with adoration running wild in your eyes. Holding your hands out to express with them, you didn’t get the chance for Peter was fast to grasp them, tangling his fingers between yours. The way he was moving was indolent compared to how quickly he would go more often than not,  “I’m not ticklish.” Emphasizing your words by raising your shoulders, Peter gave you a look of skepticism. Pouting his lips out, as if to say, ‘liar’, he squeezed his hands against yours and the sudden, sharp sound of his chuckle caught your attention.

“What’s so funny?”

“Just, you’re so full of shit,” Peter cackled, throwing his head back and slowly letting his hand leave yours. The warmth of his fingertips was surely missed as you rested yours back into your lap as Peter readjusted himself in front of you, “Everyone is at least a little bit ticklish. Didn’t you know that it’s a defense mechanism?”

He inched his way towards your face, leaning forward on his knees, forehead pushing against yours. His breath was even on your face, and you could smell the sweetness of the last thing he had eat; a twinkie. “So,” Peter puffed, “I have reason to believe that you’re lying to me, why?” His voice came out childish, and whether it was intentional, or not, you weren’t sure. It matched his expression though, for it was as if mutant sitting in front of you was looking at the best sort of treat in the world.

“Maybe ‘cause I have a boyfriend who would use it against me?” you offered up in a small voice, afraid of what he was going to do now that you had admitted that. His expression changed, but only slightly. Peter’s dark eyes narrowed playfully, and before you could even take a breath of air into your lungs, he was pushing you onto your back. Conforming to his mattress, and the pillow that was docked under your hips, you caught a glimpse of his face and prepared for what you knew was coming. Snuggling himself between your legs, he kept his eyes on you.

“Why would I use it against you?” Peter pressed a kiss to your lips, holding himself up on his forearms so he wasn’t crushing you. “I’m not saying you’re wrong, but why would I? Maybe…” He gasped suddenly, “I should because you lied about it.”

“You know I can’t stop you,” Biting down on your bottom lip, Peter sat up on his knees and ran his hands down your sides, scooting up your shirt without a word, or faltering. With heated cheeks, your felt his fingertips barely graze against the skin of your stomach. Not enough to cause you to laugh, but enough to let you know that he was teasing you. “Peterrrrr.” You drawled.

“I’m going to take my time with this knowledge.” He informed you, craning his down and kissing your mouth, “It’s good knowledge.” Dragging his mouth down, he kissed your jawline gently. “So good…” With a rough grip, Peter grasped at your sides and inched his lips back to yours where he was eager to commit. With an open mouth, he set his tongue against your perky mouth, waiting for you to open for him. There was the chance to tease, but that was something you weren’t willing to do, and within moments, your tongue was diving against his. It was meager contact, not too much, but still enough to make you crave more as Peter pulled away a few seconds later, flicking some of his silver hair out of his eyes.

“Mind telling me where you’re ticklish?” He inquired, peppering kisses against your jawline, down your neck, “Or, do I have to find out?”

“Shove it, Maximoff.”

NCT 127 + Ten Reaction to: A Girl Joining The Group

@thekpophut hope you enjoy! ~

Edit: also @lol-i-have-know-idea ty for pointing out I forgot Ten lol!! I keep getting confused w all the members … I might need need to cut back on the no. I write for … >.< but ty, seriously!

Taeil: He’s super … awkward. He wants to be a loving big bro but isn’t good at expressing his emotions so he’s distant. He’s very loving though and gives good advice, you just need to approach him first. Won’t stop you doing what you want e.g going to a party. But he does warn you about not getting too drunk or going home with a stranger. And is willing to wait up and be your ride, if you need one. Also willing to help you entertainment wise, in any way he can. But like with your personal life, you need to approach him first.

Johnny: Acts like he’s an innocent big brother but secretly, just between you two, he’s the “cool” bro. He hooks you up with his hot friends and sneaks you alcohol if you’re of legal age. While the others may say “Oh that skirt is too short,” he’s the one who smuggles the skirt out so you pass by the others in jeans but change into it in the car on the way to the party. Oh, yeah about those parties … Any one that he dj’s, he invites you to (one again, only if you’re legal age). Johnny doesn’t shelter or coddle you. If you’re not practicing hard enough then he’ll definitely tell you off. And he’ll also slip you dental dams/condoms and warn you about safe sex too. There’s no nonsense with him haha.

Taeyong: Is warm and inviting. Makes sure to include you in all their gags and games, treating you like one of the boys but also … not. He includes you but treats you like a delicate flower, yelling at the others if they hit you with a ball or curse around you. He just wants to protect you, esp. as you face a lot of haters, being the only girl in the group.

Yuta: ”Oh great, another member. Just what NCT is lacking!” he jokes. It’s an antagonistic brother-sister relationship, where you act like enemies but he would fight anyone who hurt your feelings. Ok, maybe not fight, but he would definitely sass them out. On shows, he always says snappy remarks to your haters that leave the viewers in stitches.

Doyoung: Tries too hard to seem friendly and welcoming, to the point where it’s awkward. But once you get used to each other, he’s less awkward to talk to. Wants to be the one to help you fit in so if you form the strongest bond with him, he’ll be really chuffed.

“I already have a brother and now I have a sister,” he says fondly, whenever an interviewer asks about you.

Ten: Immediately calls you his “sister.” He’ll always drag you along to play games or cook, so you’re not bored or feeling excluded. He ensures that you fit in quickly. And hardly even notices that you’re a girl. He’s comfortable enough around you to even fart and not wash his hands lol

Jaehyun: May be a little flirtatious but only in a friendly way, to boost your confidence. He knows that SM would murder you both if there was a romantic relationship so his comments are strictly platonic, meant to encourage you.

“Don’t worry about the anti’s! You’re beautiful and talented. You make the rest of us look worthless ~”

Winwin: Takes super good care of you. Knows that being an idol requires hard work and as the only female, you’ll be under even worse scrutiny than the others. So can be a harsh critic of your dancing skills but when you practice hard and impress him, he’ll treat you to ice cream. It’s a very “firm but loving older brother” relationship.

Mark: Tries to act like you’re just another group member BUT YOU’RE NOT YOU’RE A GIRL OMG WHAT SHOULD HE DO??!?!?!?!? Will take some time to relax around you, since he’s overly conscious of the gender difference. But once he relaxes, he stops seeing you as a girl and more as a member of NCT.

Haechan: If you’re younger, he will take pleasure in teasing and annoying you. Pulling your hair, flicking your ear, making smart remarks about “Oh this move is too hard for a girl” or “Should we really say things like this in front of a weak girl?” But he’s only doing it to annoy you and not bc he actually believes that girls are worth less than boys.

If you’re older, he’s all sugar and spice and everything nice. He’s a perfect angel, always complimenting you and being polite. He’s doing it so you will buy him things and to ensure that he’s your favourite member.

“Noona, I love you.”
“I love you too, Haechannie. That’s why you’re my favourite member!”

shows that need serieous rebooting: THIS ^^^^

Nostalgia struck me with the power of the dragon’s fire and accidentally bingewatched the first 3 seasons of Winx Club (college days well spent)
During the marathon all I could think about is how awesome it would be to remake it in a style thats not too glittery and crop toppy AND with better animation quality

It would be HEAVEN

If one day I’ll be in the right position in the animation industry I will fight for the lost and forgotten shows. I swear to you brothers and sisters. I’ll fight for Motorcity! I’ll fight for Clone High! And I’ll fight for a Winx Club Reboot!

until then here’s a quckie that slipped out of my hand

So...aliens ye?!!

What if aliens are like really surprised at how supportive and soft and just down right friendly we are to those we consider our allies. And how we can take a whole bunch of bull shit before we actually call the friendship (alliance) off and even then we do it with great reclusiveness.

Ok so like here’s an example. France has been USA’s first and longest ally yeah? And even when France was literally beheading ppl in the streets and shit the USA was all like

“we get the freedom part but not the killing but we still friends so we just gonna hang back shit but we still here when ya need us.”

And even with all the shit France has pulled and all the shit the USA has pulled their still allied (friends). That’s what i mean, us humans are frighteningly loyal when we find someone we can trust and stand beside.

And the Aliens aren’t expecting that because were all a kind of hateful/prideful/“idon'tlikeyoubecuase…” group and were literally always at war so they don’t expect us to know what being friends with others is like or what loyalty means. So when Humans are on there ship there weary at first until they see “designation Human Sam” hug and be friendly and shit to another Human. There astonished. They thought Humans where mindless beasts. And shit like that.

And another thing Pride. They see Humans fight and the one thing that is a constant is Pride. The way that Humans fight is that there’s these unspoken “rules” that each group follows. You don’t bomb churches, children are mostly off limits, stuff like that.

And the Aliens are astonished.

There like, this is war, why do you have rules??!!. And were just like what do you mean it’s inhumane to do this and thats horrible

And yeah.

Also i have another lol sorry. Like, the way where pack animals. Where like wolfs or lions. Each Human has a Pack that they would protect with there life. Some is only family others friends most a mix in between with both.

And we acknowledge this. We know this supposed weakness but we aren’t afraid to broadcast it. And when a curious alien finally asks there Human friend “why is your species being a pack based species not a weakness”

The Human just grins fiercely and says “have you ever seen a pack of wolves hunt? Have ya ever seen a human mother protect her brood? We may be packed based and we may need physical touch to live but that don’t make us weak, it gives us something to live for! It’s easy to die for something, but it’s hard to live for something. When we go to war we don’t think of our lives we think of how pack mates lives, our mothers and sisters and blood brothers. We fight for them and we will win for them even if we have to cut threw the strongest of armies.”

And the Aliens are just like dam son u rigt u rigt my bad

And yeah there ys go

Pride Spell/Incantation

I came up with this spell to honour and remember the members of the LGBTQ+ community that we’ve lost in the past year. Today is the anniversary of the Pulse Shooting, and there are still so many who suffer. I personally refuse to stay quiet about who I am, but there are people who need to. Who can’t speak up. This is for you. For the ones we’ve lost. For the ones we still have with us. I stand with you.

Ingredients:
-Yourself
-A candle of any color

Light the candle and recite this incantation:

I light this candle for those we have lost
Those who are suffering
Those who are still with us

May you find peace
May you find hope
And may you always find safety

You will not be forgotten
You will not be pushed aside
You will not be disregarded

For those we have lost
You live on inside us
In our hearts
In our thoughts

For those suffering
We are here for you
From afar
From nearby

For those still with us
We stand strong
For those who cannot
For those we miss

This candle burns bright
As bright as my pride

I am here
I am proud
I stand with my brothers and sisters
And I will fight for our safety and acceptance

Allow the candle to burn for as long as you feel needed, then blow it out.
The lion and the wolf

I held my head high and bit my lip to hold back tears as I neared my tent. I had never, and will never, give them the satisfaction of letting them see me shed a tear. It was much harder to contain my tears as I was already a hormonal mess as is. I pulled the flap of the tent back as another man yelled,
Bloody whore!”

I stepped in and let the tent flap fall behind me as I let out a shaky breath. I walked over to the bed and sat down. I let the tears begin to fall down my face and I began to heave.

Would you mind writing about the RFA(V , S) with a foreign MC whose parents are racist and don't allow her to be with them because they are Asian? But she dates them anyways because she loves them? (My grammar is $h*t I know)

This is so interesting. But it’s so touchy, I’m so afraid this can backfire and I’ll end up offending someone. Please let me know if this isn’t good, I’ll shut it down immediately (of course this is directed to my asian followers, couldn’t care less about white people’s feelings, including my own). Thank you all!

RFA + Saeran and V dealling with MC’s racist family

TRIGGER WARNING: Racism (obviously), misoginy, xenophobia (so sorry I forgot about this before, ugh… hope I didn’t do too much damage. I apologize if someone felt triggered expecting to get something else from this.

Zen

  • You introduced him to your father through Skype and he is…confused.
  • So… he’s an albino? And an oriental? How does that work?
  • Oh, and he’s an actor? Like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee? Did he ever play a karate fighter in some movie? Oh god…
  • “I’m pretty sure Jackie Chan is from Hong Kong, sir. And Bruce Lee was… Chinese, babe?” “I think he was born in America, and had a Chinese descendance…”
  • “And karate is a Japanese martial art, sir. They’re not all… oriental…” he says the word in disgust, ughhh… hearing this word in 21st century is awful!
  • “Oh, it’s all sort of the same thing, isn’t it?” Ohhhh… you’re so embarrassed, you want to turn it off immediately and scold your father for being… racist.
  • “No, it’s not, sir. Please don’t use a word that put hundreds of people from different cultures and countries in one tiny box. Please, get more sensitive about these issues now that your daughter is dating a KOREAN guy who will marry her someday. Have a nice day, sir.” And he turns it off.
  • “Oh, babe, I can’t believe I talked to your father like this, I’m so so…” “Don’t you dare apologizing for doing the right thing!”
  • “Well, yeah… but you know… this isn’t his fault. You know, asian actors play a lot of similar roles on American movies and TV series, so…” “Yeah, and this isn’t your fault either, my father isn’t dumb, he should see through stereotypes, we all should, you know?”
  • You were right. Zen kept thinking of this after you two went to bed. He couldn’t stop thinking of what he could do to change things.
  • And it hit him, the problem isn’t the asian actors, they just roll with the roles they can get, the problem is we don’t have enough asian people working on producing and writing jobs in entertainment, at least outside of asian countries, of course.
  • So now he’s thinking how he needs to expand his career in order to be a producer in USA or in Europe one day…
  • His manager sleeping beside him will help him through on this.

Yoosung

  • Your sister was in town and he was so excited to meet her.
  • She was excited as well, maybe too much throwing words like kawaii and calling him Yoosung-kun, you know, Japanese words.
  • “MC, she knows she’s in Korea and we speak Korean, right?” you’re too busy doing the facepalm to even answer.
  • And she keeps throwing Japanese terms totally out of context, for that matter. And Yoosung isn’t getting anything, he’s just scared of the way you’re glaring at her.
  • “Sis, shut up! You’re making a fool of yourself!” “What? I’m just showing support on you dating a jap guy.” “I’m not ‘jap’, I’m Korean. We… we are in Korea.” He says in a very kind way.
  • “Well, whatever, it’s all the same.” Oh god… oh no…
  • “No, we´re… we’re not.” He says assertively. Both you and your sister look at him, surprised.
  • “Jeez, calm down, cutie. I’m just trying to be nice and supportive. I’m super cool with my sister dating an asian guy and…” “But why do you have to be cool with it? There’s nothing to be cool about it, it’s just… you know what I’m trying to say? When you keep saying you’re cool and bringing my race and my country of origin everytime, I’m sorry… but I don’t think you’re cool with this at all. And that’s not…”
  • “Cool.” You complete for him and he smiles sweetly at you. “And please study a little, Japanese and korean have this historical feud, we don’t like being compared.” Oh wow, looks like he’s been studying too.
  • Your sister is so mad, she just stomps out of there telling she’ll never be back to this hellhole of a country and shit like that. Yoosung doesn’t understand how two people coming from the same environment can be so different like you two.
  •  “MC, are you really ok with your sister not really approving us?” “You mean if I’m okay with my sister being a xenophobic racist brat? Not really…”
  • “Oh… yeah, she was being kinda racist, right?” you nod. “Well, uhm… she seems to mean well, at least. That’s a start on us to teaching her.” “Yoosung, honey… you really don’t have to.” “I know, but I want to. She’s gonna be my family one day too, right?”
  • And that was the first time he made you blush in the ame way you’re used to making him.

Jaehee

  • You warned her about your brother being a little… nonsense. You know the guy who dated a black girl on high school and think he’s such a hero for it? That guy…
  • So he’s super excited to meet your asian girlfriend. Yeah, he emphasized “asian” a lot.
  • “Whoa, you’re tall. I thought you Asians were all tiny and cute…” hum, okay…
  • “And you are a blackbelt in judo? Whoa, dragon lady, am I right?” wtf, dude?
  • And he keeps throwing totally out of line comments about her body and how she’s nothing like he was expecting from an Asian girl, since all the asian girls he knows are completely different.
  • “The girls he saw on porn, that is.” You whisper to her, and she giggles, but deep inside she knows this is so wrong!
  • And since he won’t stop, she’s starting to get really angry. She needs to put a stop to this before he does THAT question about asian girls having sideways vaginas, because he seems douchy enough to make it.
  • “I know you mean well, but please stop before you say something really racist… and sexist as well.
  • “Sexist? And… racist? Ah, come on! I’m not racist, I’ve even dated a black girl on high school and…” See? I told you he was that guy.
  • “Hum… and I can’t even imagine why she isn’t dating you anymore…  if you used her race as a fetish like you’re doing to mine right now, we probably have an answer.” “What are you even saying, girl? You should feel lucky that MC has a supportive brother who doesn’t mind her dating another girl, an asian girl.”
  • “Oh, racist, mysoginistic and homophobic. You’re the triple threat, huh, bro? I won’t feel lucky for you doing nothing but your obligation, especially when you’re doing it wrong!” “What’s gotten to you, MC? I’m your family, you can’t talk to me like that!” “You can’t talk to me and to my girlfriend like this either, if you’re family, educate yourself before acting like an asshole!”Well, she’s not happy on being the cause of a fight between brother and sister… no, forget that, his racism was the cause of this. And she’s so happy you two are on the same page of this.

Jumin

  • He made sure to pay for bringing your dad to Korea so they could finally meet. Despite of your protests of this being a bad investment.
  • He didn’t get it at first, but as soon as he met him, he understood.
  • Because your dad wasn’t even inclined to a handshake. He was a very serious cold man.
  • Jumin is worried if this has anything to do with those three days, did you mention the cage or something? Well, he wouldn’t be exactly pleased if someone trapped his daughter like he did to you…
  • He tells you that as an apology when your father goes to his bedroom to unpack, and you feel so bad. “Jumin, honey… you’re not the problem here at all…”
  • “What do you mean, MC?” “Well, I… have I told you my father used to work in the U.S.  forces, right?”
  • He has a solid knowledge in politics, so he knows your father is probably thinking about North Korea and the constant fear of the possibility of a war starting at any moment…
  • But… he’s south Korean, what does this have anything to do with North and USA? “Well, you know how ignorance works, especially when it’s related to nationalism…”
  • Right you are, but still… this is such a touchy subject, that shouldn’t interfere in your relationship. And… well, if his race is the problem, then your father is being racist, it doesn’t matter if politics are involved.
  • “Plus, if this war happens. USA and South will likely be allies, as it happened before, so no need for you to dislike me, sir.” Well, you don’t like the idea behind his point, but… he’s sort of right? “We are not all the same, sir. Please understand this and respect your daughter’s wishes of staying with me. I’m sure in the end you’re just thinking what’s best for her, and believe me, I’m doing the best I can in order to fulfill this position.”
  • Your father looks at him head to toes. “You’re smart and reasonable, I like that you’re different from the gooks I met in Vietnam.” And he offers his hand for that handshake, which… Jumin doesn’t take it,
  • The man is still racist and xenophobic after all. And you know this isn’t even close to an end…

Saeyoung

  • He’s really excited to meet your sister
  • Then you introduce them two and they’re both nice to each other and all.
  • At least that’s what he thought before overhearing you talking in the guest room.
  • “He’s adorable, MC, and he doesn’t look that asian.” Hum… what is that supposed to mean?
  • “What do you even mean?” “I mean, he’s… redhead, and has this cool outfit, where’s the nerd kid with slicky hair that’s really good at math or something?”
  • “He is really good at math, but you’re just repeating stereotypes, come on!” “Well, there’s a lot of truth in stereotypes, y’ know?” “There’s also a lot of prejudice.” Slaaay MC, slaaaay.
  •  “Ugh, MC, ever since when did you become so prudish? Jeez, people are so touchy these days…”  even though he knows he shouldn’t,  he speaks up:  “I know, right? People can’t even be racist anymore without being called out, that’s awful!”
  • “I… I’m not racist! I am super happy for my sister dating a guy regardless of his race and…” “Regardless? Oh my God!” you and Saeyoung  say at the same time.
  • “No, honey. Of course you’re not a racist, you’re just saying that your sister is some kind of angel for being able to see a normal person behind these slant eyes of mine, and she not minding my race is a favor she’s doing…”
  • “MC, are you really letting him talk to me like this?” “I guess I will, since I’m no angel. And you brought this on yourself.”
  • Of course he didn’t want to be mean to your sister, but he totally went for it when you told him he could.
  • But on a more serious note, he wants your sister to be educated at some point, it’s not good living in ignorance, and he wouldn’t that for someone so close to you, neither would you.
  • So you two will try to be patient and show there’s much more than that portrayal of the nerd asian boy.

Saeran

  • He wouldn’t say it loud, but he is excited about meeting your mother.
  • But you keep changing the subject and backing away on this.
  • And he doesn’t know what to think, why wouldn’t him to meet the woman who raised you? Oh… wait, he knows what this is about…
  • You’re embarrassed about him, ain’t you? Because he’s a freak and would definitely screw things up, of course!
  • He confronts you, and you feel so bad, especially because now you have to tell the truth: “I’m not embarrassed of you, I’m embarrassed of her…” the fuck?
  • “W-why?” “Well, she can be a little… odd.” Odd? How?
  • Doesn’t care, he wants to meet her, I mean, haven’t you heard about his mother? What could be worse than that?
  • And though maybe it’s not worse, is still pretty bad. “I’m not a racist, but I think pure genes are really important on a child’s brain development, so I would rather seeing my daughter with a white young man.” Oh my god…
  • He… doesn’t really know what to say, he kinda expected your mother would hate him, but because he is weird, not because of something he was born like and has nothing to do with his personality.
  • “Mom, that’s so… racist.” Hmmm, yeah, that’s the word he was looking for. “No, sweetie, I’m just thinking what’s best for you.”
  • “So are you saying you think your daughter would be happier with, say, a white guy who beats her up than with someone who likes her and respects her just because he’s not white? That makes no sense”.
  • “No, of course not… I… I just…” “Mom, trust me, just end this conversation here while you didn’t mess up completely.”
  • He’s so happy to know you have his back, and this is not only about his race.

V

  • He’s thrilled and slightly nervous about meeting your brother.
  • You’re nervous too, but for very different reasons.
  • You know those people who don’t consider themselves right-winged or left-winged, his political stand is moving forward? That guy…
  • And V was having very interesting conversations with the guy when he says this: “My sister is just like me, we don’t see race, we just see people.”
  • “Well, that’s nice, but it’s very easy for a white person to say that, you know? Since race doesn’t really play a role on their accomplishments and, most important, obstacles.”
  • “What do you mean? That white people don’t put effort enough to get things?” “No, I’m just saying that you get to face obstacles, but your race is not playing a part on this. I mean…  MC is white, but she’s a woman, so she won’t get the same wage as you in the same job, it’s the same thing with race, white people earn more for the same job in a lot of cases.”
  • “Now you’re just generalizing, don’t you think you’re doing…”  wait for it… “reverse racism?” Oh no…
  • “I… don’t believe such a thing exists.” “It does, look it up.”
  • “I will, then you look up on racial inequality in labor market, how does that sound?” “You don’t have to be condescending, you know?”
  • “I’m not, I’m just giving you a reality check you’re refusing to face. But I get it, it’s hard giving up on your white privileges.” “There you are being racist again.”
  • “Dude, even I know that is not a thing, just stop, you’re embarrassing yourself.” “Yes give up on your male privileges too and listen to the woman at least for once.”
  • Your brother scoffs “You two are such a postmodern couple.” “And you’re pedantic.” “Not to mention a little racist?” you and V say.
  • Well, this was a very clever conversation, and your brother seems smart, V can’t wait to educate him in a more proper way.
