fuck i hate it when you have an otp and you know that they don’t end up together, but you keep rewatching in the hope that this time it’ll end up different - that this time they’ll be together…but it ends all the same.

What If Hyde Had Drunkly Married Laurie Forman Instead of Sam the Stripper in Season 8?

And why I think this happening could have made the season much more interesting/believable season:

  • We would have gotten the return Laurie and Lisa Robin Kelly instead of getting some new random character.
  • There would be no way Laurie and Hyde would have stayed married as long as Sam and Hyde did.
  • Jackie would be incredibly shocked and angered that once again she had a man stolen from her by Laurie Forman
  • Cat Fight Part II
  • Fez would be upset that he was no longer Laurie’s only husband.
  • Kelso would joke that Laurie had now been with everyone in the basement but that he was still the best, until he realizes that she didn’t marry him. When he asks her Laurie tells him he was never marriage material, this knocks some sense into him and he starts to act more mature and responsible with his relationship with Brooke.
  • Eric would be so shocked by the news of Hyde and Laurie’s marriage he’d leave Africa and come back home to save his best friends soul from Satan.
  • Red and Kitty would not want Laurie and Hyde to stay married because they knew how good Jackie and Hyde were together.
  • Laurie would agree to divorce Hyde but would hold off on signing the paper until he did certain things for her. Doing chores, buying her stuff, etc.
  • It would later be revealed Laurie and Hyde were never really married because she was never really divorced from Fez.
  • Still married, Fez and Laurie would try to make things work this time around (so no Jackie and Fez)
  • Hyde and Jackie would eventually find their way back to each other, possibly through the help of Laurie.
  • Everyone would get a happy ending. Even Laurie!

Part 1

It’s Been Years...

It’s been years but I still think it should’ve been Jackie and Hyde just like it should’ve been Barney and Robin just like it should’ve been Lucas and Brooke just like how now, it should’ve been Stefan and Elena.

P.S.

I do think it should’ve been Blair and Dan too. But anyway.

If you could change one thing of T7S what would would it be?

If I could change one thing it would be season 8! I definitely wouldn’t continue the series without Eric/Kelso. I would not have included Sam or Randy. Kelso would have stayed a cop, because it was something for which he could be proud of himself. He would have ended up with Brooke and Betsy. Eric and Donna would have stayed together, either eventually going off to Madison for University or even living next door to Red/Kitty. Fez would have opened his own salon and gotten back together with Laurie, because their banter was hilarious, and Red having Fez as a son-in-law was priceless! And last, but certainly not least, Jackie and Hyde would have ended up together! They helped each other grow, and season 8 completely disregarded all that growth. Jackie and Hyde was my favorite ship, and they ruined them completely.

But that is a huge thing to change so if you’re looking for the short answer it would be: Jackie and Hyde end up together. I would not have Hyde stay married to a stripper only to end up alone, and I would not have Jackie randomly get together with Fez for the most shallow possible reasons. Jackie and Hyde would have gotten married and both FINALLY had the love and security they were denied their entire lives by their shitty parents.

Kitty Believed Jackie and Hyde Had a Future Together

Season 6, Episode 4: The Acid Queen

In this Kitty and Jackie scene we see Kitty giving Jackie some relationship advice about how it’s important that she pick battles. This is the kind of relationship advice that isn’t just for this moment and the current argument about Hyde thinking Brooke was hot, this is relationship advice that Jackie could use and remember years from now.

Kitty could have easily give Jackie some advice to help her with this particular moment but she instead gives her advice for the long run, perhaps because she believes that Jackie and Hyde will be together for the long run.

Even when Jackie says she wants to be right all the time, Kitty assures her that she will be because after a few years they (men like Red/Hyde) give up. I think that the reason she says this is because Kitty believes that years later Jackie and Hyde will still be together!

And remember…from this previous post.

-Kitty was the person who sort of helped Hyde realize he might like Jackie by shooting him in ‘Jackie Bags Hyde.

-Kitty is also the first one to discover Hyde and Jackie as a couple in ‘Goin’ to California’ where she can tell they’re together even before they do.

And here Kitty is showing and saying how she thinks that Hyde and Jackie would be together for years to come.

Think it’s safe to say Kitty was one of the original Jackie/Hyde shippers!

Sneak Peek to my Halloween fanfic!

Title: Absolute Beginners
Chapters: 3, hopefully (but sometimes my writing just keeps going and going)
Initial summary: AU in which Donna and Jackie are modern witches and live together in an apartment in front of Eric and Hyde’s, with their black cat that was once a human but decided to be a creep to Jackie, and Donna transformed him into a cat aka Fez.

Especial thanks to @that70sshowgoldencouple and @those70scomics who encouraged me to write it :)

Some details under the cut!
