Play

Judy Garland’s radio debut solo at the age of 13 on The Shell Chateau Hour with Wallace Beery, broadcast on NBC Radio on 26 October, 1935. Judy had already been signed with MGM for over a month and Wallace Beery rightly predicts that she will be “the sensation of pictures”. It’s even more poignant when Judy expresses that she wants “to be a singer, Mr Beery, and I’d like to act too!”
