bring on the book 2 feels

My list of 5:
1) Sneak out in the middle of the night with someone you like. Drive to the middle of nowhere to simply watch the stars and the moon from the roof. Talk about the universe & everhthing in between.
2) Draw. Sculpt. Or write. Put your tangled thoughts into art. Show it to someone or hide it under your bed.
3) Put yourself first sometimes. Do what you want even if people tell you otherwise. Wear the clothes you want & listen to the music your heart desires. Don’t fall under pressure of pleasig others.
4) Spend 1 or 2 hours alone everyday. Go to a coffee shop & sit by the window. Bring your favorite book or look at the people surrounding you.
5)Go out at night. Dress up for once and make sure to feel beautiful and classy. There is just something strangely exciting about looking like you’ve got it all together but deep down you’re a nervous wreck.

The receptionist lifts his hand in greeting when you shuffle through the lobby, arms laden with takeout bags and Yoongi’s backpack full of spare clothes. “Need any help, Y/N?”

“I got it!” You shout back, only slightly breathless. “But thank you, Jinyoung-sunbaenim! I’ll bring you an order of egg rolls next time!”

He grins as you walk past and press the button for the elevator, before settling back down in his seat and picking up the book he was reading when you came in. You take a quick breath, inhaling the tangy sweet smell of orange chicken and fried rice, and glance around.

It’s well past the time when most of the company’s employees have headed home for the day, but you know there are several starving artists squirreled away somewhere in the bowels of Bighit–because you’re headed up to the thirteenth floor right now to feed one. There at the point in the cycle in which they’re ending promotions and working on the next album, which meant that Yoongi is away on photoshoots, commercials, or variety shows during the day, and then buried beneath a mountain of half-finished lyrics and splintered melodies at night.

You’d long ago realized that attempting to coax him out before two in the morning is a lost cause, so now you fueled his bad behavior with unhealthy takeout and triangle kimbap from the corner store. At least you drag his tired, bloodshot eyes away from the monitor for a few minutes while you visit.

I’m lucky enough that I can count the number of disparaging anons I’ve recieved on one hand, but this actually hurts.

I work on Home every day, as I have done for the last 2 years, and every day I beat myself up a little for being such a slowpoke. Making the art has been therapeutic for me. I’ve always favored movies over books because I believe visuals add something that words can’t capture, so I try my hardest to create the same for my story. W, something like this makes me feel like thousands of hours I’ve spent drawing is worth nothing to your eye; why would you want to bring an author down like that?

Fanfic authors/fanartists do this for free. I will need another couple months to make Home perfect with an abundance of paintings, whether you’re there to read it or not.

Pain...Part 2

(Pre-order information for the book is here!)

(Part 1)

It was hard, waking up without your sight.  Your swollen eyes protruded in all of its blues and blacks, and you begged for the yellow of aftershock, hoping that it would bring with it the rays of sunshine you could feel through your bedroom window.

But another day came and gone, and not a thing was to be seen.

You insisted that you would be alright.  A cooler of drinks, a beeline straight for your bathroom, and a bucket full of snacks.

But Jethro decided that it wasn’t enough.

“Y’can’t live off of chips, Y/N,” he muttered.

But you just shrugged him off and asked him to leave.

Every time dinner rolled around, you would smell the wonderful smells of food.  You would hear someone knocking around in your kitchen, but you were either in so much pain or so drugged up that it didn’t matter.

What you didn’t understand was that someone had taken up residence in your guest bedroom.

Jethro showered whenever you were asleep and made sure to bring enough files with him and wood to whittle in order to keep his attention.

But really, all he found himself doing was cleaning.  Picking up empty chip bags and throwing away empty bottles of water and juice.  He would slip out when you were rousing to grocery shop for the next meal and take calls pertaining to cases, and would slip back in with the spare key he found in your hidey-hole outside whenever you had fallen back asleep.

Your fierce loyalty is what made you right for his team, but your fierce independence is what made his eyes linger on you after hours.

But it’s also what made him curse you every time he would call while he was at the store and you were insistent that you didn’t need any help.

Days went by just like this: he stuck to the shadows of your home when you were awake, and took care of things around your home when the pain killers knocked you out.  He would clean down your bathtub, wipe down your kitchen, prep dinner for the evening, and clean up the area around your bed.

All the while wishing that you would just let him help.

But one evening you woke up, startled from a nightmare, and after not being able to calm down you reached for your phone and dialed the speed dial number that housed Jethro’s cell phone.

You heart sank when he didn’t pick up.

Still not able to pry your throbbing eyes open, you plant your wobbling feet on the floor as you stand up and make your way to your bathroom.  But when you take your first step, your bruised leg gives out from under you.

And you braced for the painful impact of the floor.

“I gotcha,” Jethro grunts as he catches you mid-way to the floor.

“Steady now,” he soothes lowly, guiding you back to your feet as your eyebrows hike shockingly high on your forehead.

“Whatcha need?” he asks as he sees the blood-tinted tears leak out from underneath your swollen lids.

How was Gibbs here?

“Y/N,” he pleads.

And without explanation, you swing your arms around his neck and hold him close as you sob into the crook of his neck.  Your body hurt, your senses were tired, and your mind was swirling.  You didn’t know how Jethro had gotten into your home, or how long he had even been there.  But all you did know was that you were alone and that you wanted someone at your side, if only for a little while.

But Jethro was determined to never leave you alone, even if it meant painting the illusion that you were.

And as the two of you stand in the middle of your darkened room, Jethro lightly kisses the side of your head as he scoops you up into his arms and slowly brings you out into your living room and sits the two of you on the couch.

He figured the both of you could do with a movie.

Fic Rec Day 2: A Few AUs More

More Les Mis AUs!

the Shower of Sparks series by Minstrelsong
Canon-era magic user AU, WIP.  I love the way that magic is portrayed in this–and the way every character feels really distinct, with their point of view obviously changing from chapter to chapter.

Sailing By Orion’s Star, by @kcrabb88
A seriously epic and swashbuckling Golden Age of Piracy AU (the link goes to the chapter index), with an ambitious plot that brings all the recurring characters of the book together.  Warnings for canon levels of abuse and injury, but the story’s heading for a brighter ending. WIP, but well on track to finish.

The ABC Club by @bewareofitalics
An incredibly note-perfect Babysitter’s Club AU that somehow manages to keep all the characters recognizable. Fun and charming and highly recommended. Enjolras and the Amis run a babysitting service in the late 20th century.  Series of one-shots.

Doctor, Doctor Give me The News, by @thewalrus_said
NightVale AU, with Bossuet as The Voice of Nightvale, and a new and perfect doctor arriving in town. J/B/M  centric, short, sweet, and weird.

The Liberation of Night Vale , by @melannen
Another Night Vale AU, complete with mayoral campaign, The Weather, and someone who has hair *almost* as perfect as Carlos.

The Ghost Leech, by @needsmoreresearch
Canon  Era,Slightly Supernatural AU.  Joly’s a ghost! and that’s okay.  A cheery little collection of stories wherein some of the Amis are not exactly as might be expected, but a good time is had by all nonetheless.

Chapter 14: Episode 2

To be honest, I’d almost entirely forgotten it was Valentine’s. After all, this was the first year it had ever been relevant to me. Valentine’s Day had always been a silly thing, where my dad would bring me gifts like stuffed bears and roses, and maybe Mom and I would have a girl’s movie night. I suppose they did it so I would never have to feel lonely. It worked. So well, in fact, that if Roen hadn’t called me before work that morning to tell me Happy Valentine’s, I might have just lived the day out normally. And even as he was asking me out to dinner, all I could think about in the back of my mind was how much work I had to do. This week had really put me through the ringer.

“How have things been going at the Weekly?” He asked, once we’d been seated. We had a quiet table for two in a secluded area of the otherwise busy restaurant. But, I’m sure money has a pull even in high-class places like these. It’s all about who can flash the fanciest wallet.

“I won’t lie and say it’s not hectic,” I admitted. “I never gave you enough credit for what you did. I’ve been swamped. I don’t know how you deal with it.”

“Have you looked at the materials I sent you?”

I nodded. He’d practically given me homework; How to Run a Company for Dummies. There was so much busywork involved in being a publisher, even a temporary one. I spent all day making phone calls, talking marketing and advertising deals and pretending like I had an inkling of what I was doing. I mocked up our new printing schedule for the year and acted as a segway between the writers and the design team. I was totally out of my element, but I was working, and I was in charge, and that’s what mattered.

Next | Previous | Beginning

Finished in 2 sittings.
Today really has helped bring me back to reality.
And I’m coming to appreciate ex’s for their contributions of their friends and family members to my life.
I’ve always called certain people “Sir’s friends” even though I’ve now known them for years.
It’s very slowly starting to click that maybe they actually like me and are actually my friends outside of Sir.
My friend Sarah (fuck, that feels weird) got me this book and some chocolates for no reason. I wasn’t even sad at the time of her ordering it (though it arrived with perfect timing of me needing a pick me up). She did it just because she’s my friend.

I hope I become better at recognizing who my actual friends are and working to blossom those relationships over the ones of “fair weather friends”.

Colour Me In Bookmarks

Fabric Bookmarks (£4)
Harry Potter Bookmarks (Deathly Hallows £3.50 )
Harry Potter (House) (£2.50)
Harry Potter Minimalist House Crest (£2)
Quote Bookmarks (£1.50)

These are only available in the UK due to posting. I do hope to eventually extend.

In order to pay for some things for my transition I need to raise some more funds. I can’t bring myself to do a gofundme account as I feel like it’s begging and I feel like I haven’t done anything to deserve the money, people have asked me if I have one so I just want to point that out. If when you buy a bookmark, you want to pay more etc for it, that is completely up to you, again. I have had people ask me if they can do that. All profits of these bookmarks will go straight into my transition fund.

All created by myself.

These will be £1 including postage and packaging

Paypal takes 10% from anything coming in and I would really love to keep the price as low as I can, so the money will transfer into my bank account, where I will keep account of everything that comes in for my transition (I will eventually get a separate account for it) but if there is any issue and you don’t feel comfortable with that we will work that out.

Message me to buy a bookmark or if you have a question

For otherwise to help my transition check out this post

2016  LGBTQIA+ READING LIST

2016 is almost here which brings in a whole new year of books with LGBTQIA+ main characters. This is a short list as these are the books I’ve heard good things from others who identify with the same sexuality or gender. I don’t feel comfortable recommending books I haven’t read, but like I said, all these were highly praised by readers and authors I trust. The good news is a majority of these books are 1) own voices, meaning the author identifies with the sexual orientation and/or gender identity and 2) deal with issues beyond coming out of the closet. I will add to the list as the year goes on. Please feel free to add or correct me if I’ve made a mistake on the list.

#ReadProud.

This June we’re celebrating the books that bring light to the reason that Pride Month exists. Read on for 8 YA books with extraordinary LGBTQ voices that crawled into our hearts and didn’t leave.

1. Stonewall: Breaking Out in the Fight for Gay Rights: An unflinching look into the history of the Gay Rights movement, starting with the Stonewall riots in 1969, which triggered an explosive demand for gay rights.

2. Hold Me Closer: Irresistible, hilarious Tiny Cooper (from Will Grayson, Will Grayson) takes center stage in his own story, written as the most fantastic musical ever produced!

3. Grasshopper Jungle: Austin has equally deep feelings for his best friend and his girlfriend in Andrew Smith’s intense, complex Printz Honor book.

4. I’ll Give You the Sun: You’ll fall for Jude as he vividly describes falling for the charismatic boy next door in Jandy Nelson’s Printz Award winner.

5. Vast Fields of Ordinary: Experiencing both true love with a mysterious new boy and unforeseen tragedy in one summer, Dade’s story is hopeful and heartbreaking at the same time.

6. Everything Leads to You: Talented set designer Emi hasn’t been able to design a love life that’s more than make-believe – until a mysterious letter leads her to Ava.

7. On the Count of Three: Nina, Avery, and Mel haven’t been apart since age 11, but when Nina comes back from a summer in California, she’s an outsider – because Avery and Mel have started dating. A bittersweet, honest look at first love and changing friendships.

8. My Most Excellent Year: When T.C. falls in love with pretty, sassy Al, it feels black and white – but for his best friend Augie, who’s drawn to a boy, it’s not so clear…even if its obvious to his family and friends.

What would you add to this list?

anonymous asked:

sobs I'm just waiting for a Jake kiss in Act 3 ;-; I spent diamonds to bring him along in hopes for a kiss but I'm satisfied with the cuddling scene 💕 what do you think will happen in Act 3? (I also don't have an anon name lmao this is my first time talking to u 😚)

You can choose your Anon nick! But since you haven’t chose, I’ll call you Cuddly Anon. :D Feel free to change it next time you leave an anon ask!

Act 3! Jake-wise, I think we’ll have some awesome kiss halfway through the book. There’s Book 2 still, right? So that’s going to be one hell of a cliffhanger. As for non-Jake stuff, we’ll somehow find the files to the rest of the group - Quinn’s, Aleister’s, MC’s… I think we’ll also run into another group of characters in the Island. I’m super curious who “The Hostiles” are. We’ve also got Iris as an ally now so let’s see what dirt she can give us about this darn island!

anonymous asked:

please don't think this is a stupid question... but what do you think is so special about CMBYN? i'm about 2/3 of the way done with it and I just passed the peach scene and while I think André Aciman's writing is beyond lovely, I cannot bring myself to like either of the main characters, especially Elio... and I really want to understand him, I do!! help

well it’s definitely not a book for everyone !! at first i wasnt really feeling it and even thought about ditching it but at like 1/3 i was like WHOAA this book is gonna mess me upppp i love it. and elio…i never thought abt whether he’s likeable or not tbh ? he’s a lot like me and even tho i hate myself i love elio with all my heart ajghkajhg idk he’s very interesting ?? the way he sees the wrold competely fascinated me..and oliver…well he’s oliver. he pissed me off a LOT but in the end i felt rlly sorry for him….BUT if ur at 2/3 and still not feeling it then it’s not for u i guess ! i just loved how sensual and honest it was idk i never read anything like that before
