My brother and I adopted Watson, a black lab/hound mix, just over a year ago when she was nine months old, from a shelter in Brewster, MA. We saw her picture in the local newspaper, and we couldn’t wait to drive an hour to the shelter to meet her. She had severe separation anxiety, and every time I left for work, I would come home to find something else she’d chewed up!
Now, our baby girl is 2 years old, and while she has more energy than my family does, Watson is more than happy to cuddle in bed with my mother, who is undergoing radiation treatment for cancer.
Watson is goofy, incredibly vocal, and she loves to play board games and card games with me and my brother. Even though to her playing the game means eating the pieces or the cards. We don’t know what we would do without her!
