M, 5h won best music video for the iheart awards. They posted it on their official website. Harmonizers are calling the awards fixed. However iheart just tweeted afterwards that Zayn won break out solo artist. I don't know what happened, but this makes even less sense for GG to be brought into his acceptance speech. I think they had him for best video, but then changed it when they double checked the numbers? Otherwise why intro GG as his costar for his break out solo award?

I’m confused what did Zayn actually win yesterday because 5H won best music video but Zayn posted a thank you for best music video but now they’re saying Zayn won best breakout artist but that wasn’t even a category? ahhhh this has no punctuation because thats exactly how it was in my head

Oh man. OH MANNNN. So the short of it is, it looks like iHeart gave Zayn an award that he didn’t *actually* win, and then to cover up their fuckup, invented a category that never existed in the first place.

Some intern really done fucked this one up, because Zayn sure thought he was accepting an award for Best Music Video (otherwise, Gigith’s presence makes even less sense), and iHeart posted on their Snapchat that he did - you can see the graphic on the original video (that they since deleted):

Hell, the media even reported on it:

Buuuuut yeah, Fifth Harmony actually won that award and accepted it:

In reality, Zayn did not win that award, but actually won a seemingly random category called Best Solo Breakout:

But guess what? Best Solo Breakout is a category that never existed in iHeart’s original list of nominations, as you can see on their page and a screen shot I uploaded here just in case hoes try to update that.

Here’s the thing. Televised award shows are usually fairly rigged (even socially voted ones), because it makes for shit TV if you’re giving awards to artists that aren’t there to accept them. That said, Fifth Harmony had the analytics for best music video, their win seems legit.

But this is me at iHeart’s fuckup right now:

liam isn't gaining any new fans though. i highly doubt he's going to be the big 1d breakout artist. it has to be niall (maybe louis i guess it does depend on how he goes about it but louis certainly has the appeal to be the breakout artist)

And:

i don’t see liam doing well actually. he has zero appeal to the general public and 1d fans don’t seem to be supporting him. to me, this one song is only doing well because it’s his first anticipated solo song. i don’t see his album or even next single doing as well because similar to harry, he’s not picking up any new fans. honestly, i see niall being the biggest and louis following behind him.

Hi anons!

He made it to silver in the UK in four weeks. I believe it took Harry five weeks. He’s fourth in the UK after four weeks on the charts. He didn’t peak at one (like Harry did), but he’s been consistent (charting three, three, four, four; for comparison, Harry was one, four, four, eight). He is slow and steady rising on the US iTunes chart. His views on “Just Strip Down” jumped after his Manchester performance. He’s gone from 24.1 million Twitter followers (in May 25th) to 24.4 today.

(Just for comparison, the numbers on May 25th were:
Harry 30.1; Louis 24.6; Niall 29.8; Liam 24.1; Zayn 21.8.
And today:
Harry 30.6; Louis 24.7; Niall 30.2; Liam 24.4; Zayn 21.9.)

Liam’s 9th on the Global Spotify stream charts (which I’m using, since in my answer I said Liam was doing well internationally) for the week of 6/15 (a peak). Niall’s 33rd (also a peak). Harry’s 31st (peaked at 14th…lower than Liam is now…) for SOTT and 185th for SC (peaked at 54th). Zayn is 58th with IDWLF (peaked 2nd) and 116 for STG (peaked 46th). His US iTunes sales look good too–they grew this week by 16%.

Liam’s not the fan favorite. In fact, Harries tried to actively downvote him on YouTube and iTunes and he’s still doing that well. Those numbers are not solely fandom numbers. He’s doing better than SOTT did, and SOTT was Harry’s first single. So I do think he’s gaining the interest of the GP.

And:

I agree that Liam has a good shot at solo stardom. He’s got the voice and the kind of music he’s making is more likely to have good streaming numbers. I have to say that I’m pulling for Niall, though, because I enjoy his type of music the most and I’ve loved everything he has done. His cover songs have been the icing on the cake.

As you can see above, his streaming numbers are good, anon.

Request:  Blurb Shawn dating a country singer

“She nervous?” Niall asks Shawn. Shawn looks over nodding.

“Has been freaking out since last night. She barely slept. I don’t get it, she performs all the time. She just got done with tour.” Shawn says shrugging.

“You know how it feels, it’s insane performing at an award show, this is her first time performing at the CMA’s.” Niall says smiling.

You’ve been dating Shawn for almost a year now. Niall is right, you’ve never performed at the CMA’s but you are also nervous for the fact that you are nominated for two awards.

Breakout artist and New Female voice of the year.

You look down and smooth  your dress, it’s red and matches your brown boots.

*

You are sitting with Shawn now, after your performance.

“You were so good Baby.” He whispers into your ear.

“Thanks.”

“I love your new song.” He grins.

“I’d hope so, its about you.”

“I know.” He wiggles his eyebrows making you laugh. “There’s that laugh.” He sighs kissing your cheek.

*

Shawn looks so funny as he stands cheering you on. He’s in a black button up, black pants, and his boots.

Only Shawn, the most non country person in the world, would wear cowboy boots to the CMA’s.

But he’s standing there cheering for you as you accept your award, Breakout Artist.

“That’s my girl.” He screams out from the crowd.

A/N: Here are some fun facts about me: I never edit, I’m shit at updates, and i haven’t written about a member of one direction in about three years. But i missed Niall and i wanted to write, so i saw this gif and it inspired me to get this all out and it might not even be that good (and it is very cheesy, that’s sort of my thing), but i gave it a try. So please enjoy and have a lovely night! xx

It was a rather busy night for Niall.

A lot was going on around him and he couldn’t quite keep his focus on one thing. Normally there were four other boys by his side, picking up the slack when there was a question he couldn’t answer. But this time it was all him. He didn’t have anyone there to back him up when he needed them. This was going solo and he almost felt like he was used to it. But this was no ordinary night, no, this was the American Music Awards and his idols would be sitting amongst him. Suddenly it felt like that very first awards show all over again. His palms were sweating and the adrenaline was pumping through his veins, but he was happy.

He knew you were here as well, battling your very first awards show all by yourself. You had a great team around you, but Niall almost felt sorry that you’d never have that group dynamic. But your talent made up for it. You were quite possibly the most talented, driven performer he’d ever met. He didn’t know if he would be able to sit still in his seat when you got up on that stage, ready to take on the crowd in front of you. You were brave.

Niall won “Favorite Breakout Artist” at the PCA’s after doing so well with his only single “This Town", being in the top 10 for weeks in the US and having more than 100.000.000 streams on Spotify. Remember to keep streaming it so that he can stay high in the iTunes chart and have even more streams. Congratulations on everything you have achieved so far, in only 4 months since your solo career started, Niall!
