It's truly rare for a game, especially one that draws alot of hype to live up to the expectations built by the preceding months of teasers, trailers and other promotional media. However, Halo 4 has done just that AND exceeded those high expectations. I am truly impressed by what 343 industries has done, taking the reins from Bungie and carrying the Halo-verse into a new era of storytelling and adventure.
I just finished the campaign on Heroic and am left sitting here, emotionally stunted yet overflowing with ALL the feels regarding the implications of what I just witnessed and the subsequent foreshadowing. I’ll just go about the rest of my week feeling like something inside me has both died and been born anew simultaneously …
Video games are just like books (as far as the actual story goes, not so much the multiplayer chaos) in that they engulf you and transport you into another universe entirely. I think Halo 4 will take game of the year. So far the only real competition is The Elder Scrolss: Skyrim.
Without rambling further though, I will just recommend that you play through the campaign yourself and join me in a state of perpetual emotional trauma until the next chapter in the Halo-verse unfolds (yes there will be more)
