“Tears are words that need to be written.” And I had a lot of tears and a lot of words to write yesterday. Watercolor on brain dump on top of brain dump helped me cope. Everything is going to fine and I’m grateful for a new day.
When I asked for requests, @rational-mastermind suggested Two Brains smiling and standing in the snow, and I was happy to oblige because I haven’t drawn the good doctor in quite a while and we could all use a little more Two Brains in our lives! Also it’s been a while so he looks pretty different in my style now. I really enjoyed working on this, thanks for the request! :D
Meditating for as little as 10 minutes a day can bring you many benefits; like reducing stress, improving brain function, and making you happy!
But, many people find it daunting. They think meditation is hard or impossible! I’m here to tell you it’s not. It’s just something that requires practice. Like every other skill out there! It took me a whole year to learn to quiet my mind and it was so worth it.
You can do this laying down or sitting. You don’t have to do fancy finger poses, but if you want to google ‘mudras.’ Just close your eyes and quiet your mind. Bring your awareness to your breath. Pay attention to what it feels like when you bring it in and out. Do this while being fully in the moment. If and when unwelcome thoughts come in just let them go gently. The goal is to stay calm and peaceful. Keep bringing your awareness back to your breath. Over time it will get easier to quiet your mind. Be patient and loving to yourself. Do this for 10 minutes a day.
That’s all there is to it. Just relax and try not to fall asleep by being aware and in the moment.
