Since @gopro still haven’t released a software update for iOS8, I am sharing this screenshot of Boudhanath Stupa tonight.


Nepali’s are currently celebrating Dashain, the longest and the most auspicious festival in the Nepalese annual calendar. It is not only the longest festival of the country but is also the one which is most anticipated. The festival falls starts from the ‘shukla paksha’ (bright lunar fortnight) and ending on purnima, the full moon.


It is celebrated for 15 days; the most important days are the first, seventh, eighth, ninth and the tenth. Today is the sixth day and I was too eager to post this picture despite the low quality.

Reflections

Browsing through the news, I was saddened to hear about the freak blizzard that struck close to the Thorung La pass. Having just returned from Nepal, this sad news is unbelievable.

I met many people on their way to the Annapurna circuit both in Kathmandu and in Pokhara. Right now my thoughts go out to the friends and families of all that may have been affected in one way or another.
