King Kong will meet the Planet of the Apes in a comic book titled Kong on the Planet of the Apes. It’s kind of amazing this primate crossover hasn’t happened already.

The six-issue miniseries will launch in November via Boom! Studios. It’s written by Ryan Ferrier (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) with art by Carlos Magno (Planet of the Apes, Kong of Skull Island).

The main cover art for the first issue, illustrated by Mike Huddleston, is pictured above. Variant covers by Magno and Hans Woody will be revealed closer to the release.

Following the events of the first Planet of the Apes film (1968), Dr. Zaius and General Ursus lead a small group of soldiers to the Forbidden Zone to destroy any remaining evidence of Taylor’s time among them. To their surprise, they discover… a Kong! Now they must travel to Skull Island to discover the truth, but they may not survive the deadliest journey of their lives!
