Bookspring Book Drive
What’s the book that most sparked your creativity as a child?
Creative Mornings Austin will be hosting a book drive for BookSpring, which distributes collected books to low income families, community outreach events, children’s shelters, charity organizations, and libraries in economically disadvantaged areas.
Please consider bringing a gently used children’s or young adult book to our December meeting for donating (see this flyer for specifics on what not to bring). The biggest need is for books for children ages 0-14. All books will go to RIF, Reach Out and Read, Rebook, Recycled Reads, or to other charities (like shelters, hospitals, and clinics).
In lieu of a book (or if you may not own many children’s books), we are also greatly encouraging monetary donations of all amounts because BookSpring is able to purchase books themselves at cost. No amount is too little!
We are excited for our creative community in Austin to participate in this drive during the holidays with this wonderful local organization. Make sure to follow us on Twitter or like our chapter’s Facebook page for interactive fun (and sharing your favorite creative children’s book) leading up to December’s event.
