  • This is what I know: people’s hopes go on forever.
  • We didn’t know it was the last days but we should have.

You’re the only person I’ve ever met who can stand a bookstore as long as I can. A smarty-pants, the kind you don’t find every day.

  • Out of nowhere you said, I love you. For whatever it’s worth.
  • You whispered my full name and we fell asleep in each other’s arms and I remember how the next morning you were gone, completely gone, and nothing in my bed or the house could have proven otherwise.
  • If you have to go, wait till I fall asleep, OK? But after a few weeks it’s Please don’t go. And finally just: Stay.

She smiles often and whenever she’s nervous she says, Tell me something.

  • I guess it’s what Oates said: Revenge is living well, without you.
  • You ask everybody you know: How long does it usually take to get over it? There are many formulas. One year for every year you dated. Two years for every year you dated. It’s just a matter of will power: The day you decide it’s over, it’s over. You never get over it.

Book Post #1:

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Sherlock Holmes is a master of deductive reasoning who can solve the most difficult crimes by spotting obscure clues overlooked by others. With the help of his loyal friend, Doctor Watson, Holmes brought countless crooks, thieves, swindlers, and murderers to justice.

These short stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are a must read for any aspiring Real GenteelMahn. Some Sherlock Holmes stories rank among the most famous in detective fiction.

I just finished reading the Penguin Book of selected short stories and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the Leather bound Complete Sherlock Holmes should be on every Real GenteelMahn’s bookshelf.

Many Thanks & Take Care.

TBR Lists

I usually keep a list of the books I want to read on my notes app on my phone. The problem with this is that technology isn’t always reliable, which has yet again left me with the loss of the whole list. Now I’m stuck wondering if it’s a good or bad thing considering I would always become overwhelmed looking at all the books waiting for me. Yet I liked to know what books I wanted to get and seeing all the good books out there.
