I want to do it (cut) again,but I made a promise to my best friend. The urges are getting stronger. Advice on how to stop? Or just advice?

Alternatives to Self-Harm (I hope these can help)

  1. Exercise
  2. Put on fake tattoos
  3. Drawing on yourself in Red marker
  4. Scribbling on paper
  5. Writing (poems, stories a diary whatever you like)
  6. Watching your favourite TV show
  7. Listen to your favourite band (Preferably not triggering songs)
  8. Painting your nails
  9. Watch a movie
  10. Do some homework
  11. Learn or play an instrument
  12. Look at the stars
  13. Read a book
  14. Create a bucket list
  15. Obsess about your favourite celebrity/book/TV show – Basically just Fangirl/Boy
  16. Singing
  17. Snap a rubber band on your wrist
  18. Begin the butter fly project
  19. Cleaning
  20. Play with your pet (If you have one)
  21. Read a book
  22. Bake cookies or Just bake something yummy :3
  23. Scream in to a pillow
  24. Dance like no one’s watching
  25. Play with clay or play-dough
  26. Build a pillow fort
  27. Find a new hobby
  28. Call a hotline or therapist

  • learn to knit (literally you can do this on youtube)
  • i heard pokemon go is fun
  • take up cake decorating
  • watch chopped
  • try yoga (again, youtube!)
  • go for a walk
  • draw a picture
  • take up sewing 
  • if you have your license and a car find an empty parking lot and do doughnuts ? (your parents might get pissed actually don’t do this one)
  • paint your nails
  • watch the martian
  • watch the entire star wars series
  • wiki random movies that you have no intention of watching
  • find a swingset it will honesty make everything better like ???

what do you do as a distraction from self harm? I've been clean for a few months and i have been so tempted to start again and the thought of that scares me.

Ask: Hi. I want to die. I haven't cut myself but I've only just, for about the fifth time ever, (before I wrote this ask) scratched up my thigh with some nail-cutting scissors. I feel awful. Do you have any advice on what to do? I'm scared.

If you continue to feel this way and feel the urge to hurt yourself, call a helpline or go to a doctor where they will be able to give you professional help like therapies or medication. I hope this helps in some way x
