There is something called the rapture of the deep, and it refers to what happens when a deep-sea diver spends too much time at the bottom of the ocean and can’t tell which way is up. When he surfaces, he’s liable to have a condition called the bends, where the body can’t adapt to the oxygen levels in the atmosphere. All of this happens to me when I surface from a great book.

I redo my entire bookshelf every time I get a couple new books. Everything has to match: I want all books by the same author together, all the same colours if possible, all the same heights (the reason why international and normal editions frustrate me). If it’s not perfect in my head, I’ll most likely go insane

Oh, my god. I just noticed that I have over 1000 followers over here and just… when did that happen??? And I haven’t even introduced myself to all of you!

Well. Hi! My name’s Mariana and after a very, very (shamefully) long period of little to no reading, I decided to get back into the habit and haven’t looked back! I had never been this involved in the reading community, though, and starting up a blog to post my book reviews has showed me the ridiculous amount of amazing people who love books as much as I do!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to check out this Tumblr (that started as an archive to my blog, but which I’ll be checking more often now that I know so many of you are following me!) and for following, liking and reblogging my posts. It means the world!

If you’re interested, you can also find me on Twitter and Instagram, where I’m the most active. Please follow and talk to me! I love making new friends :)
