Your favourite book covers

What are your favourite book covers?

We are talking about the book covers, those that catch your eye while walking down the remote aisle in the library and, breath caught in your throat, make you pick up the book for closer inspection, even if in your head you’re already screaming Mine! regardless of the plot written on the back.

So, what are your favourite book covers?

Feel free to name how many you want in a reply to this post!

Erich Maria Remarque (22 June 1898 – 25 September 1970)

German novelist who created many works about the terror of war. His best known novel All Quiet on the Western Front (1928), about German soldiers in the First World War, was made into an Oscar-winning film. His book made him an enemy of the Nazis, who burned many of his works. (Wikipedia)

From our stacks: Cover from All Quiet on the Western Front. Erich Maria Remarque. Translated from the German by A. W. Wheen. Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1929.

Whenever I buy a new book I just want to show it off to the whole world. Look how pretty my paper package of pain and tears is. So shiny.

A Court of Mist and Fury alternative cover(Version 1). Art by @merwild . I love so, so much the expression on her face - you can see her determination, her fierceness, and the strength she finally realises she has. And what she could do with it.
