"On" is like "one", such as "one speaks", conjugating like il/elle. It is more used as an impersonal "we" though and "on" is used a lot more in French than "one" is in English. It’s not quite gender neutral but it’s the closest thing

huh, yeah, that makes sense. im only in french 1 right now so i dont know much. on isnt used very much is it? but it can be used? like “on s’appelle jack” or s/t?
