Meet Darío Acosta, a homeless man in Colombia.

He lives underneath a manhole cover in an underground wiring station beneath the streets of downtown Bogota, the country’s capital. There, he has his bed, books, radio, battery powered light and imaginary dog.


Bogota is beating many South American cities in the infrastructure race for equality. The former mayor, Enrique Penalosa, is quoted saying, “A citizen on a $30 bicycle is equally important to one in a $30,000 car.” Not many cities worldwide are even close to that honesty, think about LA.
