body wrappers

Angel

Angel

You think you can tear open his skin
Fill him with petals and rubies and spit
Just like him, force yourself in
You’re trying to love an empty thing.

His bones are brittle, his organs are gray
His body’s just wrapper around cold decay
You think you’re an angel cuz that’s what he’ll say
Before he spills violets all over your face

But you are not holy
You can’t help what’s dead
Worship on satin
With timid flesh spread
You’ll give everything
On his altar of shit
But it’ll never be enough
And he gets off on it

You think you can cure him if you try
Drop to your knees, pray to him til you cry
Look up to the white cross on wood rotted sky
Try to ask God but he’s closed his eyes.

Silk slips from your shoulders, your soul you will strip
Craving rough hands against your cold skin
You think you’re his savior, kiss his fingertips
Before he splits roses that drip from your lip

But you are not holy
You can’t help what’s dead
Submission on carpet
Discolored flesh spread
You love all you can
Think you’re fixing him
But it’ll never be enough
And he gets off on it

So I bought new ballet flats today. I am still too scared to ask my instructor about pointe work. Some days I can balance on releve for 1000 years, and some days my foot (I broke it many years ago) hurts too much to tendu. I wonderful if it is just psychological at this point.

Anyway, I bought canvas flats. I have only used leather before. I have heard that the canvas is better on myelar floors and that you can throw them in the washing machine. It took a few pairs but they fit super nicely. Anybody else have preferences for just flats?
