June 15th, 1985- the New York Rangers drafted Mike Richter in the second round of the NHL 1985 Entry Draft. Tichter went on to become the Rangers’ all time leader in wins (301) and appearences by a goaltender (666) and currently is tied for fifth in regular season shutouts (24). And, ofcourse, in 1994 Richter backstopped the Rangers first Stanley Cup championship since 1940.
