blue favor

I have no patience left for people who claim to love Lance while aggressively disparaging his role in the team and insisting he’s being written as inept and useless.

Especially because most of those people are crying over how could their poor baby Lance think he’s a seventh wheel and then turning around and going “he absolutely is a seventh wheel it’s just the entire rest of the team’s fault.”

If he’s your fave why do you seem to hate him so much. Why do you keep telling me the Blue Lion’s useless and Lance’s only possible path to good character representation is if he took the Black Lion instead. Why do you keep forgetting that one of the worst things that happened to him was Keith dropping out of the fighter class so he only felt like his achievement was filling the hole left by Keith and Lance becoming Black Paladin in Shiro’s absence would be a repetition of that same bitter taste.

Why do you keep forgetting, or willfully ignoring, how much the team cares about Lance. Why do you keep ignoring how for the Beta Traz mission which was essential and incredibly demanding, they passed up the Green Lion and the Black Lion in favor of Blue. Even though Black has incredible stats. Even though Green has a camouflage module and would be great at infiltration. Does that maybe tell you something?

I mean gotta love how many people insist Shiro can’t possibly appreciate Lance when Shiro’s pretty obviously doing a better job of it than a lot of these people because he’s actually bothering to pay attention to Lance’s actual talents and contributions.

FIVE THINGS VICTORIAN WOMEN DIDN'T DO:

(We often assume that the life of the average lass’ in Victorian England was narrow and restrictive, full of stern governesses, stifling garments and fainting spells. Sure, the 19th century’s rules of etiquette, social class and morality all served to limit the range of acceptable behavior, but don’t let the lace doilies and lavender sachets fool you. Not all of the modern clichés we apply to English womanhood in the 1800s hold weight. Below, explore five things Queen Victoria’s female contemporaries didn’t do as often as you might think)

They didn’t die young- People lived to an average age of just 40 in 19th-century England, but that number is deceiving. Certainly, infants and children died of disease, malnutrition and mishaps at much higher rates than they do today. But if a girl managed to survive to adulthood, her chance of living to a ripe old age of 50, 60, 70 or even older was quite good. These odds only increased as the century progressed and improvements in sanitation, nutrition and medical care lengthened Victorian lifespans.

They didn’t marry young- At the end of the 18th century, the average age of first marriage was 28 years old for men and 26 years old for women. During the 19th century, the average age fell for English women, but it didn’t drop any lower than 22. Patterns varied depending on social and economic class, of course, with working-class women tending to marry slightly older than their aristocratic counterparts. But the prevailing modern idea that all English ladies wed before leaving their teenage years is well off the mark.

They didn’t marry their cousins.- Marrying your first cousin was perfectly acceptable in the early 1800s, and the practice certainly offered some benefits: Wealth and property were more likely to remain in the same hands, and it was easier for young women to meet and be courted by bachelors within the family circle. Later in the 19th century, though, marriage between cousins became less common. Increased mobility due to the growth of the railroad and other widespread economic improvements vastly broadened a young lady’s scope of prospective husbands. Meanwhile, the Victorian era saw a rise in awareness of birth defects associated with reproduction among relatives. Cousin marriages remained popular among the upper class, however. Charles Darwin married his first cousin Emma Wedgwood, for instance, and Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were themselves first cousins.

They didn’t wear tight corsets- The popular image of young ladies lacing themselves into corsets drawn up as tight as their maids could make them is a bit misleading. While the Victorian era did feature fashions that emphasized a tiny waist only achievable through the careful application of whalebone and ribbon, most women wore their daily corsets with a healthy dose of moderation—not to the point of swooning on the divan. Also, at the time, corsets weren’t simply a fashion statement: They were actually thought to encourage good, healthful posture and to keep the internal organs in proper alignment. And the extreme practice of removing ribs to slim the waist, rumored to have flourished in the Victorian era, simply didn’t exist

They didn’t wear pink- Today’s approach to gender-specific colors would confuse—and likely amuse—our 19th-century counterparts. White was the preferred color for babies and children of any sex until they reached the age of about 6 or 7, mainly because white clothes and diapers could be bleached. As they grew older, children were dressed in paler versions of the colors adults wore. Red was considered a strong, virile, masculine shade, while blue was dainty, delicate, feminine. So young boys were more frequently seen in pink, while young girls favored pale blue. It wasn’t until the early 20th century—quite possibly as late as the 1940s—that pink began to be universally assigned to girls and blue to boys.

Langst Fic Idea Part 2!

Wow the first one went beyond 500 notes?? Like really?? For a fandom that swears their love and appreciation for Lance, we sure love to hurt him a lot.  As a thank you this is part 2 :)))

*I’m not really sure how langsty this is but here you go.*

 - The moment they noticed that Lance wasn’t with them, Pidge ran to the nearest control pad.

 - When Lance flew away that night, Pidge placed tracking devices on each of the fighter jets in the hangar just in case.

 - They crowd against Pidge, watching her as she tapped the screen multiple times. “I placed a device in all of the jets. I’m sure I can override the system with that so give me a sec…"

-“Fuck! Lance rewrote my program?” Because of that she was only able to track the ship and access the camera. And so they watched their battered and bruised friend place the ship in autopilot and try to give first aid to himself. - “Where is he going?” “He’s going back to Haggar.” Shiro said through gritted teeth, “ I heard him strike a deal before I passed out.“

 - "He was captured by the Galra and coming back to them? Screw that, i’m bringing him back!” “No Hunk. We just got Shiro back. We can’t lose another Paladin. We know where he is and he’s leading us to the Galra, this is our chance to blindside them for once.” - Hunk and Pidge argued hard with the princess but her logic was one where the universe has a chance in winning against the enemy.

 - So they followed Lance’s ship and watched the Blue paladin writhe in pain. Hunk and Pidge stayed up every night watching diligently over Lance and often hear him sobbing himself to sleep. They thought it was because of his injuries but they didn’t know the extent of Lance’s pain.

 - Because Lance was gone for a long time, Blue was left uncleaned ever since the day Shiro went missing. Hunk and Pidge made it their mission to scrub Blue clean for Lance, so they went to the hangar to give Blue a thorough washing.

 - Once they were done, Blue’s shield went up and effectively trapping them inside. They pounded against the force field, even begged Blue to let them go but it was useless, the shield was not going away.

 - Hunk called out to Yellow but she just sat there watching them. Pidge did the same with Green but the robo cat bowed its head when Blue let out a mechanical growl.

 - “Guys, uhm… Blue wants you to come to the hangar asap. As soon as possible please, she’s kinda scary."

 - When everyone was trapped inside Blue’s force field, Black pounced at Blue but Red immediately tackled Black to the ground, growling at their leader. Black stayed still a while after Green and Yellow pinned it down.

 - they watched In amazement as the Lions did nothing to save them, even Allura was dumbfounded when she can’t control the lions. - Blue’s mouth opened beckoning them to enter.

 - Once they were settled in Blue’s cockpit, Pidge’s initial action was to disable Blue’s forcefield. She sat on the pilot’s seat and was shocked with a bolt of electricity. The message was clear, no one sits on the pilot’s seat except her pilot.

 - ‘All of you hurt my gentle Paladin. He did not deserve the way you treated him but he still loved all of you. You will stay and you will listen to me or suffer my wrath.’ The message was loud and clear… Blue was pissed.

 - The temperature in the cockpit dropped a few degrees, fogging up their breaths as they breathed in and out the chilly air.
