The Man burned just a few weeks ago and the pictures and stories keep rolling in. Radical inclusion, radical self-reliance and radical expression flourish at Black Rock City to create one out-of-this-world community in the desert where the impossible is a daily occurrence. It’s a festival of life; where the individual is celebrated rather than a particular artist. Longtime BLPfam cohort, Bee Getz, experienced his first Burning Man and has penned a narrative for JamBase that will move you with a beginner’s tale of awe and appreciation-regardless of whether you’ve never been to The Playa or are a seasoned Burner who’s been running your own camp for years.

Aura Music Festival’s resident yoga teacher, Kelly Searcy, is returning again in 2013 with even more funky, fun, peaceful, and inspiring classes!

This year, she’ll expand the Yoga and Spiritual Practices Program with multiple classes and workshops each day including:

  • Shake your Asana Class: Loosen up before you break it down- come practice yoga with Kelly and Joaquin before you hit the stages. Featuring live music or DJ, This hour-long yoga experience is sure to leave you centered, open, and energized for the rest of your weekend. The class is suitable for all levels and will focus on our connection to the cosmic consciousness and all that IS, with chakra opening poses, breathing techniques, and a few really fun partner poses too. Crazy and colorful attire is encouraged, as long as you can move in it! Expand your mind and join us at 10:30 Saturday AND Sunday morning….Trust us, its worth waking up for! Please bring a mat or towel.

  • “It Takes Two” Thai Massage and AcroYoga Class: The beauty of nature, energy of music, and power of healing touch combine for a very special class guided by Joaquin and Kelly. We’ll warm up and learn to trust each other with partner and group exercises, leading into simple therapeutic AcroYoga poses that allow us to release tension in the neck and back, bring out our inner child, and FLY! Afterwards we’ll pair up and learn techniques from Thai massage that will completely relax your over-danced muscles (and be great moves to share with your friends). All that’s needed is an open mind and curious heart! Bring a mat or towel and wear clothes that you can move easily in…save the glitter and spandex for later. For more info check out

  • “Siesta Savasana” 30 minute guided meditation and relaxation: The AMF yoga instructor team knows how tough it is to get sleep during all the great sets of the weekend, so we are offering a Siesta Savasana class each day to help you rest and rejuvenate. Allow us to guide you through visualization, sacred chant, and incredible aromatherapy to a place of complete stillness. Just a few minutes of this kind of relaxation is worth hours of sleep, so come join us and let’s send the peace and love out to all of the festival. It may be the best part of your day!

  • Did you know that we’ll also be offering mini classes, meditations, and gatherings during the weekend? Check out the chalkboards at the information tent and yoga field to see the daily offerings presented by the yoga team and Aura community… Chakra balancing, didgeridoo healing, group chant, sacred space creation, and more! We are here to support conscious community at the festival and can’t wait to connect with you.

Hell yeah, Snarky Puppy! We are extremely excited to bring Snarky Puppy to Florida! February 23rd in Jacksonville at 1904 Music Hall and February 24th in Tampa at Crowbar.

We have been fans of Snarky Puppy for a long time now and are over the moon to welcome them to our music-loving community. Geek out over the amazing Lalah Hathaway blowing her guest appearance out of the water by singing TWO NOTES at once in this excellent video from their Grammy-nominated Family Dinner - Vol. 1.

The first video of Dopapod’s session at ‪#‎AURAstudios‬ has emerged! See what the Aura Music Events team have been up to and rock out to the snazzy 5-camera, studio recording of “Trapper Keeper."

*Tonight we go live, for the debut stream of Live from AURA Studios. Join us at 8 PM with FUSIK! Who was at AURA 3 and remembers seeing them funk it up? We were there!  Looking forward to this.

Shake off your case of the Mondays and get ready for an in-your-face dance party tomorrow night when you hit play right here on Turkuaz performing Bubba Slide. The bombastic funk train pulls in to The Funky Biscuit and BLP will be all aboard the funktastic voyage! Stop by the FB event page and get down on some more videos including some cameos from our brothers from other mothers, Dopapod

Save the date! February 14-16, 2014 AURA Music & Arts Festival returns to Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. See you there, fam:)

All of us in the AURAcamp are overwhelmed by the positive response we’ve received following our 4th annual AURA Music & Arts Festival.

It means the world to us that our gathering means so much to you, AURAfam. We are extremely inspired and our AURAs are fully charged, so we dove right back in as soon as the dust settled, warmed our bones and caught up on rest. Below you can find a compilation of nine different photo galleries, six official videos produced by Sewell Film Productions and sixteen reviews from a wide variety of outlets. Make sure to take your time and check everything out; look for yourself, tag your friends and share with the world; and show some AURAlove to the writers, photographers and videographers who contributed their time and energy to document AURA Music & Arts Festival 4 just for YOU. We have also created to provide you another opportunity to grab that Tripp screen-print event poster, an AURA t-shirt or an AURA coozie while we still have some left.

Oh yeah, stay tuned for an announcement about next year and details about some other shows we have in the works coming soon. Peace & Brotherly Love AURAfam!

When the show is this good you fangirl out and ask for a group photo. @realsnarkypuppy is the truth! 😍😁👊🔥🎼💞 It takes a village, like I said to Michael League as they were loading up the van. Still haven’t processed that I played a (tiny) part in the amazing, SOLD OUT show that just went down. Thank you, @blpfam @mattyblp and @moongoddessllc, for fighting the good fight for live music in FL. And obviously all the thanks and praise to Snarky Puppy for channelling their spirit into beautiful music that vibrates at the highest frequencies. Totally worth the 4 hour drive to get snarked in Tampa!

More reasons why we love these guys. Well done, gentlemen.

Camp Bisco 12: Something To Write Home About… (by The Disco Biscuits)

…according to the Mayan calendar, December 21, 2012 marks the end of non-time and the beginning of time. It is the end of the Macha and the beginning of the Pacha. It is the end of selfishness and the beginning of brotherhood. It is the end of individualism and the beginning of collectivism…the end of hatred and the beginning of love. The end of lies and the beginning of truth. It is the end of sadness and the beginning of joy. It is the end of division and the beginning of unity…
—  President Evo Morales of Bolivia in an address to the United Nations, September 26, 2012
