Roughs for a “vampire dragon”, not of the traditional sense and undead,
but a dragons mind twisted into hoarding blood, thus seeking it out.
I wanted aspects to take down prey (larger dragons). The chin spikes
were to gouge under and out protective neck/belly scutes. The underside
of the tail like a fish scaler, to descale by wrapping and removing in
one quick motion.
Wing stripes inspired by tiger mosquitoes. They lived in an temple carved into the underside of a giant cliff (think cathedral, but glued at the top to the rock) - Never got around to drawing that part. I would like to revisit them.
Awhile back I had a dream I wanted to scribble down.
In it I was able to shift into a giant bat creature that fed off werewolves (sorry woofers). Where damage was taken the pelt would tear to reveal meat and blood, which would then shift further into horns, blades and spikes. It was a cold night in a dark wood and I hunted.
