Significant Weather Advisory

by reddit user OtistheWriter

I hate thunderstorms in the Midwest, mainly because they bring with them a threat of real danger. In southern Nebraska we’ve been known to have tornados somewhat regularly, ugly black funnels that drop from the sky and ruin your life.

That is, if you lived in my neighbors house in 1997, when I was a teenager. I’m referring to a family of three just several homes down. Family friends and caretakers of our corgi while we were on vacation, they helped our street feel like home. Then the storm came and everything changed.

College Cleaning List & Guide

So I made this cause I think a lot of people have trouble finding a groove when cleaning their apartment or dorm room. It’s super important to do cause dirty dorm rooms are why everyone has to get their meningitis shot before school. Here is what I recommend doing. At most it takes 45 minutes but usually it will take me around 25 minutes to do all of this in a standard sized double, so there’s really no reason not to.

You are doing both yourself and your roommate a disservice when you don’t clean your room. Also! No one wants to be the homie with the stinky room, so below I’ve added a list of cleaning supplies and a step by step guide on how you can keep your room inhabitable and reduce your risk of getting sick during the year.

-Lysol All-Purpose Disinfecting Wipes

-Clorox Bleach in a Spray Bottle*

-Glade Plug-In

-Dust Pan & Broom

-Stick Vacuum

-Sponge

-Dish Soap

-Paper Towels

-Toilet Scrubber (You can find a cheap one at a dollar store)*

-Swiffer Wet Jet/Dirt Devil Wet Spray Mop

-Fabuloso if you get the Dirt Devil (Green Apple scent is my personal favorite)

-MicroFiber cloth or a Swiffer Duster

-Febreeze Fabric Freshener

-Rubber Gloves (Optional)

-Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner in a bottle (Optional)*

*if you have a bathroom

So heres the dealio kiddos!

Step 1: Make your bed! Shake out any blankets or throws and let any debris on them fall to the ground. Put any dirty plates or cutlery to the side and out of the way, or stick them in your sink if you have one.

Step 2: Start with your microfiber cloth/duster or wipes and start wiping down every surface. If you have crumbs on a desk or chair feel free to wipe them onto the ground we will get them next.

Step 3: Grab your Vacuum and/or Broom and dustpan and start getting all of that debris off your floor. You will be surprised how much dust, crumbs and miscellaneous items there are. Sometimes I vacuum and then sweep just to make sure I get any grains of sand or dirt stuck in corners out, cause I don’t like the feeling of it sticking to my feet, or getting in my bed, cause then it’s gritty.

Step 4: Grab your mop and start wet mopping all over the place. This will make the place smell so nice and get any sort of thing stuck to the ground that you missed. The nice thing about the Dirt Devil spray mop is you can add any cleaner you want and just stick the pad in the washing machine when you need to clean it as opposed to the wet jet, where you need to buy pads and cleaner cartridges.

Step 5: Febreeze over your bed, febreeze over your roommates bed (make sure they aren’t allergic to febreeze), febreeze your chair if it has fabric. Basically Febreeze any fabric in the room.

Now! You’re basically done. If you have a bathroom, repeat the steps above and additionally:

Cleaning your Shower: Remove any items from your shower. Get gloves, paper towels, and clorox bleach spray. Spray the Clorox Bleach on the plastic part of your shower curtain and then wipe down with paper towels. Spray all over the inside of the shower and wait 2 minutes. Turn the shower on and let it rinse off anything it can reach. Turn off the shower and wipe down anything it didn’t reach.

Cleaning your Toilet: Lift the seats of the toilet. Get the toilet bowl cleaner or spray bleach, toilet scrubber, rubber gloves, and paper towels/disinfectant wipes. Use the toilet bowl cleaner, or the spray bleach to coat the inside of the toilet with cleaner. Grab your scrubber and give it a good scrub. Flush! Now you can use the disinfectant wipes or the spray bleach and paper towels to wipe down the seats, back and handle of the toilet.

Cleaning your dishes: Get your sponge, rubber gloves, and dish soap. Let your plates and cutlery soak in hot water for 2 minutes, if you don’t have a stopper you can let the hot water run over them. Put dish soap on your sponge and start scrubbing those dishes under warm water. When you’re done with cleaning an item, wipe them dry with a paper towel or regular towel and put them to the side. You can also set up some paper towels on a surface and lay them on there to dry while you continue washing. When you’re done washing the dishes, lift every item off the sink and use the same sponge to wash down the sink and rinse it with water. Now you’ve also cleaned your sink!

Things people forget to clean: microwave, mini fridge, desk surface, door handles, windows.

Other helpful tips:

Once you’ve cleaned it fully(I do this every week or every other week) you can mop your floor quickly every day or every other day to keep it grit free. If you see dirt or feel it, just sweep or mop it up; it’ll make the next big clean easier.

Change/Wash your sheets every 1-2 weeks, especially if you have sensitive skin! Dirty shams can give you acne.

When using bleach be careful! A) it can ruin your clothes and B) it is an irritant so avoid getting it on your skin. If you do, wash it off as soon as possible.

Good Luck!

I am sorry I write poetry to make me feel like I deserve you.
Like the time you spend on the tip of my pen makes me more worthy to love you.
When in truth, I will never be.
There is no great Galaxy in my little eyes.
I am misery. I am cruelty.
I am messed up. I made mess just to tell people I am hurting.
I have no words to convince you of how real this is.
And lately my skin feels like broken promises and the light is way too bright.
I make metaphors to mimic my silence. This is the most I can offer. I am sorry.
My heart is a guillotine that is crashing down and cutting off my sanity.
I know I hurt you. I know I will never be enough or maybe I am too much.
I am not a different universe. Saying that would be an insult to space because I am not that beautiful.
There are aches in my bones and the raindrops fill my bed with tears.
I lie with my back arched and my bullet hands clutching my heavy head in a desperate attempt to stop the sounds. The silence. The cold. The heat. The pounding. The nothing.
I am trying to make you understand that I do not understand myself but I do love you.
If I could take the stars and paint you a night so bright it would chase out all the darkness you’ve ever felt, I would do it without a second thought.
I am not that strong.
I am only a dim light that tries to shine too bright when you are the sun and I flicker beside you.
But I would stand in your shadows if it meant I could be close to you.
My breathing is so often forced and my words are more like suicide notes.
I am not a soft bed or a light day and
I am sorry.
I am sorry.
I am sorry.
—  An apology of sorts.

When I saw all the ear hats I knew what I had to do

Bonus:

Ichigo does not understand the concept of Tokyo Disneyland

One does not simply go to Tokyo Disneyland without buying ear hats (besides RenRuki are probably merchandise pros so they buy all the stuff and Orihime actually bought Ichigo some ears but he refuses to wear them in front of Renji and Rukia because he knows they won’t make him forget)

Bully me, the crippled teammate? You done goofed...

Obligatory didn’t happen recently, happened about 10years ago here.

Back in my public school days, starting in 1st grade(I was a big kid), I played tackle football. I kept with it for 8 years, despite hating most of my teammates.

One year, just before our schedule took off, I fully broke both bones in my arm. This left me in a rigid cast that went all the way to my shoulder, thus I was useless on the field and became the team ‘manager’. This meant filling the water tanks, washing uniforms, inflating footballs etc. (It also meant days off school for games, and other silly benefits).

I mentioned I hated my teammates. Up to this point, the only reason was because the way they treated my non-athletic friends. One night, while at our towns highschool football game, I added another reason to that list.

One teammate, we’ll call him DeWaytoodumb(DTD), decided it would be a great idea to come up behind me while I was watching the game and pull down my pants, push me over, then proceed to grab my feet and drag my (now bare) ass around for a solid minute.

(Having my dominant arm out of commission and the lack of footing meant I had zero way to defend myself. DTD was a class-a asshole of the worst public school caliber.)

Well DTD got bored eventually, and let me go and went off laughing with a couple of other teammates of mine. I got up, and pulled myself back together, despite my now bleeding ass cheeks and crushed ego and walked home. I then began plotting my revenge.

The next Monday, I had to wash the uniforms. Everyone’s gear was labeled, so I found DTD’s gear and took it to the bathroom. I proceeded to take a shit, then wipe my ass with his pants, lining up my crack where his would go. I then threw them in with the other gear, only I didn’t add much bleach. Post-dry, I also added some itch powder that I had from an old magic kit to his gear, as well as the other teammates that just stood and watched him that night.

I waited for practice, super anxious and semi-regretting my decision.

Well practice comes, and I am on the field filling waters with the assistant coaches when the entire offensive line, including DTD, makes a bee-line for me.

“Hey smokeyDaBandito, you need to do your job, the real players shouldnt have to do the maid’s job” (proceeds to show his backside with an larger-than-planned brown stain)

(I had rehearsed this) “Hey DTD, you need to learn to use toilet paper. Even bleach couldn’t remove your skidmarks”

Man that felt good, especially since his little posse and the coaches couldn’t contain their laughter. DTD just mumbled something and walked off. Part 2 hadn’t even started yet.

About 20min into practice, most of the offence has begun to feverishly scratch their asses and balls from the itch powder that has been jostled enough. I couldn’t help it, and I started laughing. DTD put 2 and 2 together and realized what I had done and begins running at me shouting obscenities.

The head coach intervenes. He pulls the 2 of us aside and I admit to the powder prank. Coach looks pissed, and DTD is pretty smug until Coach asks me why. I told the whole story, leaving out too much detail on the injury to my hind end.

Practice ended at its normal time and myself, coach, and all of my teammates that were involved were told to stay behind. Coach goes into this lecture about brotherhood and respect for a solid 5 minutes, then tells the others to run 2 miles in full gear.

When DTD finished his miles, coach calls him over and kicks him off the team.

Holy sh*t that felt awesome.

(Well since you said Japanese music >.>) 'Mighty Long Fall' by ONE OK ROCK! And feel free to say whatever you want!

YES this is a Good for me.  i love one ok rock and this song is great.  the percussion and bass are sick, and the guitar works really well as an accent throughout the verse, and then drives the energy of the chorus up really well.  i could talk about the base in this song at the end for ages.  and whatever bowed instrument they have in there just.  yes.  as for the lyrics, i like the way they make the relationship into something tangible in the first verse and then kind of runs with that through the chorus.  it’s a catchy and epic song and it gets stuck in my head but i don’t mind, which is impressive XD  this song gave me chills the first time i heard it, and that counts for a lot.  so yeah, good thoughts on this song XD

Murder of Skylar Neese

“We really did go on three.” –Shelia Eddy

Murder

On July 6, 2012, 16-year-old Skylar Neese’s best friends, Shelia Eddy (top picture) and Rachel Shoaf (bottom picture) convinced Skylar to sneak out in the middle of the night with them to ride around town and smoke marijuana. Skylar, who had just recently had a fallout with the two girls, was hesitant. At 10:48 P.M., Skylar publicly posted a tweet saying, ‘’you doing shit like that is why I will NEVER completely trust you’’ which can only be assumed was directed toward Shelia and Rachel. After a series of phone calls and texts, Shelia and Rachel have successfully changed her mind and convinced her to tag along with them. The last sign of Skylar on Twitter was a retweet at 11:15 P.M. saying, ‘’All I do is hope.’’

At exactly 12:31 A.M., after Shelia’s silver Toyota pulled up by her apartment, Skylar climbed out of her window after stashing a small bench by her window. She climbed into the back seat of the car and the three girls headed away from Star City, past the Sheetz lane bridge over the Monongahela River. They headed north on Route 19, and planned to turn onto Route 7 when they spotted a State Police car parked in front of a Hot Spot gambling lounge. Not wanting to get caught as underage girls out past curfew, they turned around and headed back to Star City and took an alternate road to Blacksville.

They eventually arrived at their destination on Morris Run Road in Pennsylvania, a long dirt road surrounded with forestry, a place familiar to all three girls where they would occasionally smoke marijuana there on the way to and from Shelia’s dad’s house. Shelia and Rachel each concealed a kitchen knife Shelia had provided under their clothes. In the trunk was hidden paper towels, bleach, Handi Wipes, clean clothes, and a shovel Rachel had stolen from her father’s house. The girls stepped out of the car for a smoke but Shelia’s lighter didn’t work, so Skylar remembered she had brought her lighter and went to retrieve it from the car. As soon as Skylar turned her back, Rachel began counting to three–a premeditated signal–and the two girls began stabbing Skylar. Skylar attempted to run but didn’t make it very far until Rachel tackled her to the ground and continued to stab her. The scuffle was so intense that both Shelia and Rachel had accidentally pocket-dialed someone. At some point, Skylar managed to grab the knife from Rachel and leave a three-inch gash just above her right ankle. That’s when Rachel stopped stabbing but Shelia kept going. They stopped counting after fifty stabs. The only word Skylar managed to muster during the vicious attack was, Why? over and over again.

After they stopped attacking, the two girls stood over Skylar as she took her final breaths. When they were certain she was dead, they retrieved Rachel’s shovel and dragged Skylar’s body to the side of the road where they tried to bury her near a creek, but the soil was too rocky so instead they covered her body with rocks, fallen branches, and dirt. After disposing of Skylar’s body, the girls returned to the car to clean up with the Handi Wipes and towels provided and stashed their bloody clothes in a trash bag and donned clean clothes. The murder, disposal of Skylar’s body, and clean-up overall took three hours.

Criminal Charges

For the following months after the murder, Skylar Neese was deemed a runaway until Rachel Shoaf broke down and confessed to her part in the murder in December of 2012, though she was not immediately arrested. She cooperated with the police and lead them to the place Skylar was murdered.

Shelia Eddy was arrested outside of a restaurant on May 1, 2013. Both girls pleaded guilty in court and are both serving life in Lakin Correctional Center. Shelia Eddy was sentenced to life in prison and will be eligible for parole in 15 years; Rachel Shoaf was charged with second degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years and will be eligible for parole in 10 years.

Rachel Shoaf offered no explanation for their crime other than the fact that they did not want to be friends with Skylar anymore. The true motive of the girls’ murder remains unknown, however, a theory suggests that Rachel and Shelia were in a sexual relationship and Skylar was threatening to out them.

Skylar Neese (top photo) was stabbed to death by her supposed best friends, Rachel Shoaf and Sheila Eddy on July 5th, 2012. Skylar’s remains were found six months later after Rachel confessed. They convinced Skylar to sneak out in the middle of the night with them to ride around town and smoke marijuana. Skylar had recently fallen out with the both of them, but a series of texts between the three of them that night convinced her to ride along. They decided to drive down a familiar road where they smoke. Little did Skylar know,  Shelia and Rachel each had a kitchen knife concealed under their clothes and paper towels, bleach, clean clothes, and a shovel in the trunk. The girls stepped out of the car for a smoke but Shelia’s lighter didn’t work, so Skylar went to retrieve her lighter from the car. As soon as Skylar turned her back, Rachel began counting to three—and the two girls began stabbing Skylar.  Skylar attempted to run but didn’t make it very far until Rachel tackled her to the ground and continued to stab her. At some point, Skylar managed to grab the knife from Rachel and left a three-inch gash just above her right ankle. After stabbing her fifty times, they finally stopped. The only thing Skylar could say was “why?” over and over again. They dragged Skylar’s body to the side of the road where they tried to bury her near a creek, but the soil was too rocky so instead they covered her body with rocks and fallen branches. The disposal of Skylar’s body took around three hours.

During her confession on January 2013, Rachel told authorities that they had planned the murder while in science class and the plan was to take her out to the woods, count to three and stab her until she was dead.

On March 30, 2013, about a month before she was arrested for Skylar’s murder, Sheila tweeted this: “we really did go on three.”

The ULTIMATE What-Shit-To-Pack List for a UK Uni Student-to-be

Im compiling a list (and jeez its long so youre in for the long hall on this one) of stuff to take to uni :) so heres what ive compiled to be the essentials for you.
