blank lapel

For the past few years, I’ve had a Galentine’s brunch for my friends. Unfortunately, our friends group has expanded so much that we’ve maxed out the reservation limit at two of our favorite brunch places, so this year I rented a movie theatre instead! Which sounds so fancy, but there are about a zillion tiny independent theatres in the greater Boston area, so we’re not talking about, like, a giant AMC auditorium or anything.

Anyway, I think everyone had a great time!! I had a poll to vote on which lady friendship movie we should watch and Ghostbusters won, so we watched that while consuming quite a bit of champagne and eating a dessert buffet full of cupcakes, tiny jam cakes, cookies, build-your-own ice cream sundaes, and…god, I don’t know, there was a lot of sugar.

We had stuff to make little heart lapel pins, blank ceramic mugs and oil paint pens to decorate them, blank protest postcards to fill out to send to congressional representatives, and all sorts of other stuff.

I think everyone had a great time! I had a great time at least, though I’m also glad it’s over because there was a lot of prep work that went into it and it was exhausting. But Galentine’s Day remains my favorite my second favorite holiday and I’m so glad that I got to spend the evening hanging out with my buddies 💜👭🍾
