“Dammit, Y/N! Don’t you dare hang up the phone! What the hell do you mean?!” Dean paced around his motel room, running his fingers through his hair continuously. They had just wrapped up a case in Nebraska, and was planning on visiting Bobby for some down time. Sam reminded his older brother that they haven’t seen Y/N in over several months, and he had been missing her.

“I understand, Dean,” she answered vaguely. Dean’s heart was thumping against his chest, as he tried to understand her message.

“What- What is it, sweetheart? What do you understand?” He started throwing clothes into his duffel bag, knocking on the bathroom door where Sam was currently showering.

“You and Sam need each other… But you don’t need me.” With that, she hung up.

“Y/N? Y/N?” Dean shouted into the phone, knowing that it would be futile. “Fuck.” He hung up his phone, and knocked louder against the bathroom door. “Sam! Get your ass out here.”

Sam opened the door with only his jeans, his face lined with annoyance. “The fuck Dean?”

“We’re leaving NOW!”

“What’s going on? Did you talk to Y/N?” Sam quickly put on his shirt, seeing the gravity of the situation in Dean’s eyes.

“Yea, but she kept saying things,” Dean answered vaguely, shaking his head as he continued to pack their stuff.

“What did she say?”

“She kept saying how she understands- how she knows that we needed each other, but we don’t need her.”

Sam furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “Why makes her think that? She knows we love her.”

“I have a bad feeling about this, Sam. C’mon.”

Both brothers made their way to Bobby’s house with tension between them. The four-hour trip only lasting 3 hours with Dean’s driving. Nothing else had been said. Nothing else needed to be said. Not until they find Y/N, hopefully alive.

Snow Day

AYEEEEE LOOK AT THAT! A TITLE! A SHIT ONE, BUT IT’S STILL THERE! THATS PROGRESS

It was finally winter time, and for someone to say you were excited would have been the understatement of the entire century.

You loved winter with all of your heart. The cold weather, the holidays. The snow

Originally being from the southern part of America, snow was a luxury you never had much of. Sure, it got cold enough to snow, but it just never did. Or the ground was too wet for it to stick.

Whatever the reason, snow was something not many places in the south had the luck to experience very often. Sometimes it snowed maybe twice a year, but it seldom stuck even then. There was one time in your memory that you could recall having enough snow to play in, and even then it was melted before the day was over.

Now that you lived further up north, you hoped that for your first winter here, you would get the pleasure of having more than a few centimeters of the substance.

The only downside of your excitement, was that almost no one else understood it.

Dean thought snow was stupid and too cold for anyone to actually enjoy. Sam always spouted off the dangers it could cause every time you mentioned it. It really killed your mood, but you didn’t let it keep you down for long.

Because there was one other person in the bunker that was as excited as you.

Jack

The child-turned-adult shared your excitement, almost outdoing you. While you has seem snow before, no matter how small the amount, Jack hadn’t. This would be his first time seeing snow, and you’d be damned if you let Sam or Dean ruin it for him.

When the weather man told of the first snow storm to hit your area, you and Jack were prepared to sit up all night if needed, just to see the snow start to fall. You were forecasted to get around four inches overnight, and it wasn’t supposed to stop until almost two days later, so Jack’s first snow experience would be a good one!

Pouring two cups of hot chocolate and plopping in some mini marshmallows, you walked back to the spot you and Jack had made, blankets and pillows pilled up everywhere next to one of the few windows that the bunker had.

“Here you go Jack! Nice and hot, just what we need to keep ourselves warm,” you said, carefully handing over one of the mugs, making sure he didn’t spill any of the hot liquid on himself.

“Thank you {Y/N},” he replied, copying you when you blew on the drink so it didn’t burn your tongue. Watching him take his first ever sip of the iconic drink, the smile that grew on his face was absolutely adorable.

Soon after, Dean walked by on his way to his bedroom, rolling his eyes at the sight of the two of you, wrapped up in blankets and watching out the window for the first sign of snow.

“You know, this is incredibly stupid,” he snarked, stopping beside the two of you. Sighing, you stood up, walked closer to him, and put your hands on your hips, glaring at him the whole time.

“Listen up, Dean Winchester, and you listen good. You may think this is the stupidest thing you’ve ever seen. I don’t give a flying fuck. We’re going to sit here and wait for it to start snowing, and you sure as hell aren’t going to ruin our fun with your asshole comments!”

Eyes widening at the slight anger in your tone, Dean shook his head and continued walking. Plopping back down in your nest of blankets, you smiled at Jack, assuring him everything was just fine.

It was a few hours later, around one in the morning, before anything started to happen. While the two of you were intently looking out of the window, you saw a flutter of movement.

Looking up, you squealed when you saw the snow beginning to fall. When you pointed it out to Jack, his eyes grew with child-like wonder. The pure and utter happiness on his face was totally worth staying up much later than you usually do.

After watching the fluffy blanket start to form on the ground, both of you decided to head to bed, and you would wake up early in the morning to start your day full of playing in the snow.

~~slight time skip to the next morning~~

At around 10 the next morning, you were awoken by the feeling of something pulling on your hand.

Opening your eyes slightly, you were met with the sight of Jack, happy and bouncing up and down, waiting to go play in his first snowfall. Smiling widely back at him, you jump out of bed and begin to get dressed. you help Jack find something appropriate to wear in the freezing temperatures, and you guys are out the door faster than Dean could ask what the hell you were doing.

The sight you opened the door to was beautiful. The snow sparkled in the small amount of sunlight coming from behind the clouds, flakes continuing to fall fairly quickly.

The first thing you taught Jack to do was make a snow angel. You pulled him to a flat area and flopped down into the fluffy snow. He soon followed suit, and before you knew it he was making snow angel after snow angel, laughing the whole time.

Later, when Sam and Dean decided to come and see what you guys were doing, you decided it was the perfect time to introduce Jack to the wonders of a snowball fight. Quickly showing him how to make a ball of snow in his hands, you aimed yours at the back of Dean’s head, and his at Sam’s.

Holding back your laughter, you let the snowballs fly, cackling at the brother’s bewildered faces. When they looked at each other and smirked, however, you grabbed Jack’s hand and pulled him around the side of the bunker, finding shelter behind an old dumpster that had been left there.

The ensuing fight was chaotic. There was snow flying everywhere, and there was always laughter to be heard, even from Dean, who would later deny it, saying he was “too busy freezing his ass off to laugh at anything”

Sam, of course, was a lethal opponent. HE was all about math and accuracy, making his shots almost always hit their mark. Dean was less strategy, more ’just go for it’, keeping you on your toes constantly. All in all, everyone was just having a good time, and that’s all you ever could have asked for.

After the fight was over, you all decided to take a break, since the snow would be there for a good while longer. Making another batch of hot chocolate, you poured everyone a glass, settling down in the main room of the bunker. Nobody really said anything, everyone enjoying the peace and quiet.

Looking around at everyone, you felt your heart swell with joy. This was your family. It may not be perfect, and it may be a little crazy, but you loved it. And maybe, just for these next few days of snowy fun, you could pretend to be normal, even though you were all oh so far from it. You would eventually get back to hunting, Sammy coming into the library with his laptop saying “So, get this…”. But that wasn’t what mattered. This, these moments like this one, was what you would remember years down the road.

And you couldn’t ask for anything to be any different.

Crowley thundered through the halls of his dungeon, a smirk on his face. He heard a little rumour going around in the rack, about a girl associated with the Winchesters- someone who meant an awful lot. He stood in front of the girl, assessing her from head to toe. A surge of power traveled through his bloodstream as he realized that he found the key to getting the Winchester’s to doing his biddings.

Y/N’s head lolled to the side as she became more conscious of her surroundings. It was rare for someone to be unconscious in hell, the demons like to keep the person fully aware of their torture when they’re on the rack.

“Hello, dear,” he greeted, an evil smirk adorning his face.

She didn’t reply just as Crowley expected. He tapped into her memories, watching her life flash by as he confirmed her relationship with the Winchester brothers. He patted her cheek, ignoring her wince as he didn’t even bother to avoid the bruise on the skin. As he walked away from her, he wondered just exactly what he would ask of the brothers. There were so many possibilities, and he could not wait for the time to bring her up.

It was almost ten years later when Crowley finally exhausted all of his resources, and used up all of his other leverages against the boys.

The demon tracked down the Winchesters to their motel room, having just finished a hunt in town, and ready to head back home to their bunker.

“Hello, boys,” the demon greeted.

Both brothers pulled out their guns.

“What the hell do you want, Crowley?” Dean demanded.

“Oh, Squirrel. Always had the penchant for the dramatics.”

“Shut up.”

“If you could lower your weapons, and we can talk like normal people-”

“Not until you tell us what you want,” Sam added.

“Well, I came to you because I may have a wee bit of a predicament.”

“And why should we help you?” Dean asked.

The demon smirked. “Because I got something that may be of interest.”

Lmao i’m still not sure why people think my writing isn’t trash cause it is, but she convinced me to keep going! She gave me this cute prompt, and i really tried to do it justice, but meh whatever.

When you left the bunker to “grab some supplies” this morning, this wasn’t exactly what you had in mind.

You had woken up early, before anyone else, or so you had thought. You had planned on spending a semi-peaceful day shopping for things you guys needed at the bunker. And you had panned to do it alone.

Those plans, however, changed fairly quickly as soon as you walked out of your room.

“Where are you going?” you heard from behind you. Letting out a small squeal of surprise, you whirled around, seeing Jack standing in the doorway, eyes shining with curiosity.

Trying to calm your racing heart, you gave Jack a small smile. He was too adorable to actually be mad at.

“Out for some supplies,” you stated. “We’re out of almost everything here.”

Jack nodded in understanding. Suddenly, his eyes lit up with the kind of excitement only someone as innocent as him could have.

“Can I come with you?” he asked. You hesitated, not knowing how Sam and Dean, mostly Dean, would react to waking up and Jack being gone. Seeing the hopeful look in his eyes, you gave in almost instantly.

“Alright,” you said, walking back to your room. “Let me just leave a note for the boys so they don;t freak out when they wake up.”

After placing the note somewhere you knew it would be seen, you and Jack headed out. The ride to the city was peaceful, Jack only speaking a few times to ask you some questions.

Pulling into the parking lot, you and Jack climbed out of the car, taking your time. Neither of you wanted to return to the bunker sooner than you had to.

After traveling from store to store, it ended up taking about three hours to get everything you needed. You and Jack had both had fun, enjoying the fresh air and time away from Sam and Dean.

Putting the last bag into the car, you turned to say something ti Jack, only to find he wasn’t anywhere in sight. Panicking slightly, you began to walk around, calling his name. While he looked grown, you knew his innocence had the potential to get him into major trouble.

Walking past a small alleyway, you just so happen to catch movement out of the corner of your eye. Whipping around, you find Jack sitting on the ground, a small puppy in his lap.

He was grinning ear to ear, gently petting the small animal. It couldn’t have been more than a couple of months old, but it was incredibly dirty, and the closer you looked, you could see its ribs poking through its skin. You looked around it’s neck, but there was no collar. The poor thing was a stray.

When Jack looked up at you, the pure joy on his face was contagious. A huge smile breaking out on your face, you reached down to pick up the puppy.

“Hello baby, hi there cutie,” you cooed, automatically switching to baby talk. The dog snuggled into your arms, and one look at Jack told you there was no way in Heaven or Hell you were leaving the poor thing here.

Sighing, you started back to your car, beckoning Jack to follow you.

“Okay, listen Jack,” you started. “We’re taking him home, but Dean can NOT know about it, at least not yet. Got it?” When he nodded, you began to relay your plan to him.

He was going to somehow distract Sam and Dean, and you were going to sneak the puppy into your room, where it would stay until you figured out how to tell Dean.

Letting Jack go first, you slowly closed the bunker door, the puppy hidden safely in the inside pocket of your jacket. When you heard Jack start talking to the boys, you began speed-walking to your room, taking the sleeping animal out of your pocket on the way.

“[Y/N], is that a damn dog?!” you heard Dean’s gruff voice ask. Yelping, you his the puppy behind your back as you turned, seeing jack standing behind the oldest Winchester brother, looking panicked and apologetic.

“Nooo. What the hell are you talking about?” you said, not even sounding convincing to your own ears. When Dean just raised his eyebrows, you sighed and brought the pup from behind your back, holding him close to your chest.

“Look at him Dean! He was all alone and hungry, we couldn’t just leave him there to die!” you exclaimed, showing him the adorable ball of fluff.

“[Y/N], I told you-” he started

“No!” you cut him off, staring up at him defiantly. “He’s staying here! I’m not getting rid of him, and you can’t make me!”

Snapping his hanging jaw closed, Dean huffed and stomped away, going to tell Sam what was going on.

“He’ll side with me, Deano! Sammy loves dogs!” you yelled.

Smiling when you heard him groan, you and Jack went into your room, making a bed and thinking of a name for the newest member of your perfect, messed up little family.

It had been a horrible day. One of those types of days you wanted to crawl back into bed, and wait to try again the next day. Nothing little, like losing your keys, or spilling your coffee. No, when you had a bad day, it went really bad.

It had all started as soon as you had woken up. Rolling over in bed, you realized that Jensen wasn’t there with you. Of course, he had left early, planning on spending the day at the brewery. Sighing, you had gone into the bathroom, only to realize your period had started during the night. That brought tears to your eyes, as you sank down to the side of the bath tub. You had so been hopeful that it was this time. That you would finally be pregnant. You had been trying so hard, and it hadn’t happened yet.

“Hey, sweetheart,” Dean greeted lowly as not to scare her.

Her gaze was stuck to the ground, her body not moving an inch.

“We’re not going to hurt you. Do you remember us?” Sam questioned kindly, bending his knees to meet her eyes.

She nodded slowly, looking unsure of her surroundings.

“You’re not in hell anymore,” Sam said comfortingly. “You’re safe with us.”

Y/N looked around the motel room, and finally opened her mouth. “Wh- What’s the date?” she croaked.

“It’s June 19th, 2015,” Sam answered.

The girl looked accepting of the fact that it has been nine years since her death.

“Here,” Sam quickly said, grabbing a water bottle from the table, and handing it to her. “You must be hungry. Dean, and I were just about to head back to the bunker.”

“The bunker?” Y/N asked with her head tilted to the side.

“Yea!” Sam’s face lit up as he continued talking about their new found residence. He chattered away about the bunker for a few minutes until Dean interrupted him.

“Let’s get you some food before we leave.” There wasn’t any trace of emotions in his voice, his face as stoic as ever.

Y/N looked down at her bloody clothes, and before she could say anything, Dean had already gone through his bag, pulling a pair of shirt, flannel, and sweatpants for her to wear.

“Get changed, and then we’ll head out,” Dean instructed.

As she was in the bathroom, the two brothers turned to each other.

It wasn’t very often you let yourself go. As in drinking as much as you wanted, forgetting that your life was a train wreck. But after nothing but hunts for the past month, seeing people you couldn’t save, you needed to let off a little steam.

Dean had offered to come with you, but you needed to be by yourself. If Dean was there, you would only have eyes for him, and he would only have eyes for the bar tender, or the waitress in the skimpy skirt. Then, you would end up miserable and drunk, crying yourself to sleep in bed once again. And you couldn’t take that. So, you figured you would come and drink, and maybe find some strapping man to get your mind off the green eyes that seemed to haunt your every waking moment.

It was a couple of days later when Dean had just gotten ready for bed, his eyes closed in hopes for a couple of hours of sleep when Y/N knocked on his door softly, opening the frame, and calling his name at the same time.

At the sound of her voice, Dean all but leaped into alertness. “Y/N? What’s wrong? Are you okay?”

She didn’t say anything as she made her way to his bed, sitting on the space he left with her legs crossed. She ignored his watchful gaze as she chewed on her lips. No words could describe her time in hell, but she knew she needed to accept the memory. Without realizing it her breathing became shallower, and just as Dean opened his mouth, she burst into tears.

“Oh, sweetheart.” Dean’s heart ached at the sound of her cries. He circled his arms around her, and pulled her against his chest, his legs resting around her figure. “It’s okay. I’m here. Nothing’s gonna hurt you anymore, you hear?” Tears were stinging his eyes as she cried even louder, despair and grief in every teardrop. He had to physically bite his bottom lip to stop himself from crying as well. “Let it all out, sweetheart. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.” Dean drew small circles on her bottom hip, his other hand stroking the back of her hair.

It felt like hours later, and it probably was when Y/N had finally stopped completely crying. She sniffled continuously, using the collar of her shirt to clean up the mess on her face.

“I’m gonna get you a glass of water,” Dean said, seeing her finally calming down.

Y/N scrambled to grab his arm, shaking her head, pleading for him not to leave her.

“I won’t be long,” he promised.

When Dean woke up the next day, he slipped carefully out of bed, trying not to wake the sleeping girl so he could make breakfast. As he headed towards the kitchen, he passed by the library, seeing Sam with his laptop.

“What are you doing?” the older Winchester asked.

“Tracking down the alpha vampire,” Sam responded, glancing at his older brother briefly before going back to his computer. “We’ve got less than three weeks to find him, and kill him.”

Dean nodded, knowing they couldn’t push back finding the monster any longer. As much as he wanted to focus on making sure Y/N was getting better, they needed to focus on killing the vampire first. He made his way to the kitchen to prepare himself a cup of coffee, and started boiling the water for Y/N’s tea when a blood-curling scream stopped his heart. Dean quickly ran to his room, meeting Sam in the hallway. It didn’t matter than he was unarmed. He would fight tooth and nail, with his bare hands, with whatever decided to come to his home, and attack his loved ones.

The boys nearly broke the door down when they crashed into the room, seeing Y/N curled against the headboard, and Castiel standing at the edge of the bed with his head titled to the side. She was sobbing, and hyperventilating while Castiel was calmly trying to explain who he was.

As Castiel predicted, it took a while for him to track the vampire, even with Dean and Sam doing their best to contact anyone they know who could help. They had almost the entire hunter population in North America on this case. Dean insisted on having all the help they can so they could get this over with. He hated having Crowley hovering over them with a deal.

It was another week and a half, until Castiel managed to locate him. Dean and Sam immediately grabbed their stuff, ready to go. The two brothers made their way to the kitchen, where Y/N was sitting and reading yet another lore book.

“Hey, Y/N, we’re gonna go on a hunt,” Dean told her, not expecting her to respond. He knew better than anyone else that Y/N was in a different world when reading.

Her head snapped towards them, lowering her book slowly. “I want to come,” she said, surprising both boys. They both looked at her with widened eyes, then turned to each other in a silent conversation.

“Alright, sure I guess. Go pack your bag. We’ll be leaving in 10,” Dean said, ruffling her hair as he passed by.

“We should bring the Colt just in case,” Sam told Dean, who nodded in agreement. As his older brother went to grab the weapon, he turned his head to Y/N. “Are you sure you want to come with us?”

She nodded. “You might need backup.” Her voice wasn’t serious, but it wasn’t all too playful either. Still, it brought out a smile from the younger Winchester.

“Okay.”

Dean came back waving the wrapped up gun in the air, a goofy smile on his face. “Got it.”

“Is that the Colt?” she asked, peering over to the gun.

“The one and only,” he replied with a huge grin.

She look at it with such curiosity before nodding. Once she finished packing her stuff, she went outside to the garage with her duffel bag slung over her shoulder.
