black scholes

It’s kind of weird thinking that uni courses in maths we study now hadn’t even come to existence a generation ago. Eg. the Black-Scholes theory had only been formalised in 1973 and now I’m studying a full course on it. And probability theory wasn’t even considered to be mathematics before the 1930s, so if I had presented a paper on it to mathematicians of my grandparents’ generation they would have thought I was mad.
