black pen pattern

In ancient Egypt beekeeping was considered an very important job and those who did it were held in high regard.

Based on this I drew a bee wearing a Pharaoh’s headdress, filling the sides with Egyptian inspired patterns relating to bees.

I’ve used gold and silver ink to colour the headdress as gold is used a lot in ancient Egyptian art and silver to make it more majestic.

For the bee’s face I’ve used the stippling technique to give the effect of fuzziness.

I feel an image like this would be better suited to a throw cushion than on wallpaper so I may try do do a few other home ware items.
