July 1, 2016 - Black-naped Monarch or Black-naped Blue Flycatcher (Hypothymis azurea)
These small monarch flycatchers are found across South and Southeast Asia from India to the Philippines. They feed on flying insects, including butterflies, moths, and grasshoppers, catching them mostly in the air. During the breeding season, they construct small cup-shaped nests from grass and moss bound with spider silk. Both parents incubate the eggs and care for the chicks.
