One of the great motivating factors that has spurred my grandmother’s success in rehab after knee surgery was her desire to attend my cousin’s wedding in New Orleans this past weekend.
“I absolutely must be there – even if I have to be wheelchaired in,” she repeatedly told her orthopedist and rehab nurses prior to the event.
My grandmother obviously met that goal and enjoyed a front-row seat as my new cousin-in-law from Germany was walked down the aisle during the Bohemian-style wedding ceremony in New Orleans City Park.
(I was called in at the last moment to be the official photographer. Thus needing to focus on shooting in digital, I unfortunately only had the opportunity to make a few frames in 120 film. My brother-in-law, with the Pentax 67 in the background, thankfully helped out.)
My sister Hannah was determined to do ‘Trash The Dress’ at some point after her wedding day. So we got ourselves organised and drove to Gyles Quay outside my hometown of Dundalk in Ireland. Here is a preview. More to come. Enjoy!
