I transitioned from eating meat to a vegetarian lifestyle during this time. My diet consists mostly of brown rice, black beans, egg whites, tofu, Greek yogurt, sushi (before becoming vegetarian), and TONS TONS TONS of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and ICE WATER.
I know sometimes for people who are bigger, going to the gym can be intimidating. For me I was so self conscious about how long I was on a machine compared to the other girls on my college campus gym. 7 minutes on the treadmill turned into 10, and into 20, and finally I can say that I not only can do what most other people do at that gym, but actually enjoy exercise and want to go. CARDIO IS KEY!
The pictures aren’t necessarily the best because honestly I didn’t think I was going to be successful in losing this much weight going into it, so I didn’t take “before & after” pics. I lost 70 pounds in about 5 months, went from a size 18 to a 10 in pants, and an xxlarge to a medium/large in shirts.
Overall I feel so much better. I am more energized, more confident, and have less health problems than when I was really overweight. The phrase that got me through the touch times was Just Do It
